FFXV

>"Kings of Lucis, come to me!"
I haven't felt emotional about a game in ages. Noctis is the first main character to be my favorite.
Which part had the best feels?

The underwater cutscene with Luna got to me

I've cried every single time when i watch the last campfire scene

I got pretty emotional when I finished the game and realized it was unfinished garbage that I put too much of my time into.

tfw you will never have friends like noctis and the bros

Noctis is easily the best FF protag. It's a shame he's stuck in such a flawed game

Love the boss battle with the Hydra while you go super saiyan with the Morrowind Theme playing.

youtube.com/watch?v=8VymM57lcbc
this tore me to pieces

This game would have been like 40 billion times better with character development and just a clearer story in general. I still have no idea what the fuck happened at the end and where he was fighting the final boss.

Rushed game you played two different stories with different writers because one took the raft from the other and change it to their direction.

It's a very bad story where most of it happens off screen.

You don't even know who the villain is unless you watch the movie

That's what happens when a game gets delayed for 10 years and gets pushed out still unfinished, senpai.

>ignis' eyes get hurt
>doesn't make a scene about it
>somehow still fights alongside the bros
>says it will heal eventually
>10 years later and it never did
fuck

The Lucifer/Jesus allegory got btfo by the new Jesus allegory through the power of a bunch of death loving pieces of shit. How is it this hard for you people to understand? Is this your first jrpg?

I wanted to see Luna fight
make it happen SE

You guys really are the best

Haven't played the game in a few weeks and then came back to this menu
>that theme that plays

>lost his eyesight
>lost his king
>pretty soon Cid will die and he'll have no one to fuss over

I give Iggy two or three years tops before he kills himself

Luna DLC where she awakens the astrals when?

Honestly that didn't affect me, but when at the VERY FUCKING END OF THE GAME you FINALLY hear the Final Fantasy theme, in Yoko's arrangement, that actually left me sobbing.

Then you weren't paying attention. That's it.

...

When did you realize this was the best Final Fantasy soundtrack ever compiled?

youtube.com/watch?v=T1WQ6x9TI4s

Best Bro's for sure.

They should really do this, it'd be easy to inject somewhere before chapter 7. Throw Noctis in with her too. It'd develop their relationship more and we'd get some nice link strike stuff

were you emotional when ardyn killed lunafrey?
I was totally just not feeling anything. I even watched the movie, the movie was suppose to make me care for lunafrey. So, now I worry that i'm becoming more and more like a sociopath because I can't feel sorry for the dumb luna death.

It's not the best, but it has the best battle song in any FF hands down.

youtube.com/watch?v=U9REI2BHea4

All in all, its at least top 3. Yoko is a Goddess.

youtu.be/BGBO3u0aQQg

Ardyn was the first king. he was given power by the gods to both fight and to heal, and was promised a place in the crystal valhalla when his time came.
but when the time came, the crystal rejected him, and his family spread rumors that he can become a demon from how much taint he had absorbed from all that healing he'd done as a pretense to usurp the throne.
in exile, he sought out Ifrit, the one god who hated humanity, and hatched a plot with him to wipe out the human race via the demon plague. He then went to the Empire, which wasn't a big deal back then, and tricked them into trying to use the demon plague to create super soldiers, and helped them conquer most of the continent and kill the physical form of the other gods to weaken their ability to interfere.
Unbeknownst to Ifrit, Ardyn's true goal was to engineer the birth of the true king of light (by reducing the members of the royal family to just one person, Noctis), who would use the power of the crystal and all the previous kings to kill him forever. This both frees Ardyn from his immortality and completes his revenge on the family who exiled him by wiping the entire lineage from the face of the earth.

Their destiny fulfilled, the true king of light and the last oracle are welcomed into crystal Valhalla

Nah this song was way more emotional during the intro to FFIV. Where you and Kain are setting out on your journey to the village mist.

>Screen fades to black
>Audio of the game's opening starts playing
>This starts up youtube.com/watch?v=vv2DSmy3Tro
That fucking got me.

That train car ride was fucking brutal, man.

"All I wanted, was to save you"

>Main character is the best

This is the sign of a bad story.

Ehhhhh the redemptive parts are a bit editorialized. There's nothing to assume that Ardyn was a good-bad guy. I like your theory, but I don't think it holds water.
Well FFIV is my favorite Final Fantasy next to FFXII so yeah, I can't begrudge you there.

A story you can't experience, PCuck.

>the power... OF LIGHT

it's like I'm really playing Kingdom Hearts

>A Final Fantasy story is cliche

>There's nothing to assume that Ardyn was a good-bad guy.

You mean except for the parts in the game where they pretty much spells it out for you? Ardyn himself says that he got betrayed by the asshole who became king.

just by reading this thread i can tell how generic the plot is, are you people 12?

NEVER EVER
Fanart is top-notch, but canonical love story is utter shit.

Explain when it was revealed he was only pretending to be the bad guy.

Another forever ass-ravaged PCuck.

youtu.be/QxodM4uWaC8?t=1210

You mean good guy turned bad?

>Which part had the best feels?

having to select a photo at the end and looking over what is basically a photo gallery of the entire game.

in addition when this played near the end:
youtube.com/watch?v=Vvq31rYSkhQ

as a side note, fuck Chapter 13 but I wonder how the patch will make it not shit

he wasn't 'only pretending'. he legit loathed the lucian line and had no qualms about killing millions of people to get his revenge and escape immortality. he's a former messiah turned completely evil

The whole love thing just feels tacked on for the sake of having a romance in the game. Luna still sees him as a child, and sure he has a crush, but it honestly feels like she was written to be a big sister figure at first.

I was. Maybe because I was heavily invested in their relationship. Not in the movie, but in the game I paid attention to every note, every little radio bit mentioning luna etc. I could pretty easily tell they liked each other (even if it was more clear after her death). Yes Luna's death was abrupt and they didn't develop her character or their relationship much, but I still felt it.

The post here says Ardyn intentionally wanted to die and wanted Noctis to kill him, which is not at all suggested in-game.

Luna's death was to make an impact on Noctis, not you the player. So you're not a sociopath. However, if you felt nothing during the scene where Ignis reveals he was blinded, well you're just a damn monster.

I will say this. I absolutely fucking hated Noctis at the beginning of the game and thought he was a spoiled little cunt. By the end of the game, I admired and respected him.

I liked that it was one of the goals throughout the game to get married or at least see luna.

>People giving Noctis shit for not just putting on the ring

True but even at the beginning I would say he was less whiny than the typical archetype of FF protag

>complains that immortality is a curse
>his speech about how ten years of darkness isn't shit compared to thr years of darkness he endured
>Noctis telling him after the first fight that Ardyn can RIP
>Noctis telling the bros that he understands that Ardyn is suffering and wants to be put down

How does this not scream "I want to die" to you?

Less whiny than Squall, Tidus, and Vaan (who was not the protagonist of FFXII anyway). Actually the FF series (especially the classic games) has a pretty good record of having solid protagonists.

The fact that Ardyn was continued to be vehemently angry and violent towards Noctis both before and after death...

Yeah I didn't understand that. Luna died delivering that fucking ring. A lot of people did. All for his royal duty to be fulfilled and to sacrifice himself?
No wonder he's not prancing around with joy that he has the ring. It's a curse.

>Cue the Gendou edit with Gladio screaming at Noctis to just put the damn ring on

>didn't develop her character
Nah, every character in this game has near the zero depth. You just spent more time with some of them, that's why you feel certain attachment.
For example, I like Ignis, but he is basically walking "recipeh" meme.

Brotherhood did far better job with chardevelopment. You can see conflict between bros, how they resolved it, how they started they relationship. You can see why Gladiolus didn't like Noctis at first, but then he changed his opinion on Noct. In game Gladio is bullying bitch again, but this time it's conflict without logical end.

>discrediting the other composers who worked on the soundtrack
Idiot.

...

Yoko really was the lead person though. She even talked about working on the Blues and Bossa Nova music, which says to me that even though the other composers were employed they were just couriers for her own ideas.

Not to mention how much it fucking hurts just to wear it, let alone use it.

Gladio acted too much of a fucking asshole.
Luna had just died and he was telling Noctis to get over it. Fuck him.

...

>just couriers for her own ideas.
Oh it's Mememomura-kun again.

You didn't disprove me last time so yeah I'll continue to leave you without a reply.
Did you watch the GI interview yet? It's on YouTube. I'll watch it again.

It's almost like he had a huge grudge against the Lucis family and the gods; and on top of dying wanted to do as much damage as he could before the end. Like Noct pointed out, Ardyn was just running off pure spite at that point but he still wanted to die. The bitch is a walking contradiction.

because he's still the chosen one of the gods who represents everything he hates.
and even then when Noctis arrives in 'the great beyond' Ardyn tips his hat to him. he doesn't even fight back at that point, just grunts and growls demonically because, hey, he's absorbed like six billion demons over the ages

twitter.com/yochin0817/status/817336262872821760

Let me be clear: I love the idea. I just don't think there is satisfactory evidence in-game to prove it.

Maybe it's something that had to get cut. IDK but I'm not one for speculation.

>and was promised a place in the crystal valhalla when his time came.
>but when the time came, the crystal rejected him, and his family spread rumors that he can become a demon from how much taint he had absorbed from all that healing he'd done as a pretense to usurp the throne.
>in exile, he sought out Ifrit, the one god who hated humanity, and hatched a plot with him to wipe out the human race via the demon plague

and you think this would be mentioned in game

...

You already linked this tweet.

Weeks had actually passed and Noctis had basically shut down. But yeah, Gladio was being an asshole, but he did have a point. His way of handling the situation was fucked up though and he was most definately taking his issues out on Noctis.

I like linking that tweet. :)

Reminder that Noctis died a wizard

So did you listen to the GI interview yet?

Its in the damn game. Bahamut tells Noctis this shit and Ardyn tells you that he joined up with Ifirit because the god hates humans even more than he does.

I wouldn't have problem with Gladio if he was a good bodyguard.
But I can't stand how he blamed Noctis for being bad king, but at the time he failed his ONE JOB.

Link.

>Ardyn smug as fuck when he meets Noctis in the afterlife
>then suddenly looks scared as shit when astral projections of the boys / lunafreya show up
>then he gets completely obliterated
He died, but he didn't get to go to whatever afterlife Lunafreya and Noctis went to. If there is anything worse than immortality, utter nonexistence is going to be it.

except they never mention the shit about Ifrit in game.

Only in shit like the artbook

I prefer his younger self over his older self.

...

Well at least him and Cor have something to bond over now.

It's on YouTube but OK lazy fuck.
youtube.com/watch?v=adPcZuU9cRs

Around the 5 minute mark.

>afterlife Lunafreya and Noctis went to
It isn't confirmed, it's just popular headcanon.
I personally like the idea that last scene is Noctis' final fantasy.

if utter nonexistance was so bad, atheists would never an hero

>Ravus literally walks up to Noctis and picks him up
>Gladio just stands there, only to get knocked the fuck back
>Most Gladio protected Noctis from was a coin being flipped at him by Ardyn

>If there is anything worse than immortality, utter nonexistence is going to be it.

It's okay, he Kenny the Crow now.

Why?

In addition, the iTunes tagging exclusively lists Shimomura even though previous soundtracks such as X's very thoroughly and specifically listed which tracks were made by which composers.

the game makes a pretty big deal about kings 'returning to the crystal' when they die

That had nothing to do with the additional compositions and arrangements by Suzuki, Shibata and Aoki though.
So I'm not sure what I was listening for.

>King's Shield, who abandoned hia King for whatever reason
>marshall, who has been sent before shit happened in Insomnia, specifically to help Noctis, but disappeared
BFFs.

There is no Crystal and Ring anymore.

Shimomura did not compose the Chocobo Theme nor the Prelude unless she ghost wrote those for Uematsu twenty years ago.

Chocobo themes arranged by Mizuta on XIII-2 and Lightning Retuens are credited to Uematsu as he composed the theme itself. Similarly A Fleeting Dream and Spira Unplugged are credited to Uematsu on iTunes since he composed by Suteka da Ne but Hamauzu arranged them. So from that alone you know it's wrong.

>not inserting flashes of the bros reacting to Noctis's dead body into the final wedding cutscene

You had one job Tabby.

>he's "looking for royal tombs"
>finds one, gives you the key and fucks off for good
Thanks I guess

She specifically talks about her writing Blues and Bossa Nova tracks...
