Hey Sup Forums did anyone ever play this game? I remember picking it up and playing it a while back. It looked and felt like it had potential just fell slightly short of being pretty good? Is is worth it to buy on steam? Is the modding community good on here? I feel like this game could have significantly improved with mods.
Hey Sup Forums did anyone ever play this game? I remember picking it up and playing it a while back...
Severely underrated game. You'll find nothing but hate for it here.
Really? Why the hate. Is it because it fell so short of the finish line? at least that's what it felt like to me. I'm surprised no one has modded the shit out of this...
bump
Had a blast playing the beta with Sup Forums. I preordered the game. It's not that good.
Why are betas so much better then the real games Sup Forums?
I remember playing the multiplayer demo before it came out, man that shit was fucking fun. The multiplayer was a blast, single player I can't remember anything about
bumping one last time.
There exist better games.
I remember it being quite good. But there was no one on the multiplayer servers.
I had an decent time with it. No one is online though if you get it for like 5 dollars I think you won't waste your money
It's fairly alright. Each campaign can be somewhat annoying and rusticating at times, but in general, I'd say it's a pretty worthwhile experience.
Is Colonial Marines worth pirating?
It's an alright game, but it was way, way too short.
Colonial Marine was best in the beginning, got kind of dull later on.
Most fun was playing as the Predator.
Alien/Xeno was just tedious.
as for the campaign, the human chapter was pretty fun for what it was
human>predator>aliens
in order of quality
the online tho was top fucking notch awesome. damn shame no one ever really played it. game was dead within months. damn shame
The multiplayer was a amazing on release when no one knew the bullshit and the like. People ran scared, aliens jumped fuckers and the predator impaled you from a distance. It was amazing.
Then time happened and people started making it as boring as possible by using the bullshit of certain map locations and weapons/etc. Funny thing, meleeing an alien can permastun it if done by two people in tandem. A friend and I abused this once for laughs after almost shitting ourselves in terror.
No.
Fuck your shit I'll pirate it anyway
t. smug brat
jesus christ
i thought you were talking about the original AVP
from the 90s
anyway
AVP2 is way better
AVP3 is consolized dogshit with truely awful controls
Played it & liked it, worth owning if you like the franchise and genre.
Suit yourself. That's your time you're wasting, not mine.
No mercy
not even for machines
...
It was pretty cool for what's worth
I think it's the best campaign that you can get in an Aliens setting even today
Still not very long, though. The AI was incredible. The MP was cool, but died in a week with the most horrible netcoding and what not. Never knew if it got fixed later.
The only negative I can really think of is that each campaign felt incredibly short.
>mfw playing the Marine campaign on Nightmare difficulty
Fuck the Foundry with the Queen, the Temples and the final fight with Bishop
I remember MP dying because of lack of balance for marines since they could essentially never die to aliens and oredators spawning too slowly.
I liked it. The first two AVP games are better though.
I thought the counter was pretty broken but I didn't think the marines were that broken, the aliens and predators had instant kills from behind which was kind of bullshit.
>context jumping as Predator
Never dropped a game so hard. What the fuck is that?
The multiplayer is fun as shit. I bought a copy just so I could figure out how I can do multiplayer with my friends again since the servers are dead.
it was pretty fucking trash
can't believe the xenomorph campaign had no lifecycle
the multiplayer could have been so much fun but it was atrocious
its a shame, i was just thinking about this the other day
the avp extended universe is some seriously dope shit
Can't get behind them if they're actually against a wall. Due to lighting/brightness settings aliens were too visible. Can't kill them from anything but melee and you'll get ripped apart if focused.
It was best when it was less of a game, amusingly enough.
Oh shit it's this game isn't it?
Long time AvP player here, AvP2010 was fucking shit, it was an absolute abomination.
Just play AvP2 or AvP Classic
That's Colonial Marines. Entirely different game.
AvP2 alien campaign life cycle was pretty cool, especially as a facehugger. Chestbuster stealth segment was bonecrushing level of difficulty, though, as I remember.
are there mods for those?
Would you trust a new AvP game to Creative Assembly?
They made isolation, which isn't really an AvP action kind of game, but they seem to have treated Alien IP entrusted to them very professionally.
i remember playing avp2 at my friends place and we used to swap the disc out of one pc while the game was running and load it up on the second one so we could play LAN multiplayer together
good times
I've beaten this game more times than I'm willing to admit. I'll play only it for about a week or two once a year and then it fades away until about a year later when I remember I have it again.
>tfw you mix up vidya because you can only remember them from dumb meme images
well shit thanks.
It's kinda weird because I was a huge fan of AvP1 and 2 back then. I must have completely ignored the third one.
yes
they are a console dev arent they? then fuck no. AVP2010 was ruined because the console controls were a fucking abortion.
I was so hype for this game. Loved AVP2, the Alien and Predator films.
Singleplayer I dont even really remember, because AVP2 had the best campaign missions Marine especially. I played the shit out of the multiplayer though and had tons of fun. I stopped playing around the time they patched in taking damage while blocking as a marine. That fucked up the already horrible balance and got me killed, when I normally would have clutched a win.
AvP2010 being shit had nothing to do with "console controls" AvP2 had pad support, AvP2010 was shit because it had shit balance, shit gameplay, no dedicated server support, shit netcode and was bugged to fuck
I played the demo before it suddenly was pulled from my PC because germans aren't suppposed to play this.
Had fun with the few matches I was having.
I remember Sup Forums doing nothing but playing the AYY, staying hidden, hissing at marines to get them paranoid and chasing their own tails, which is possible in this game.
