Need help on best class to boost to level 80 on guild wars 2
Why don't you ask Reddit, faggot
Bump
The chinese class is pretty good and cheap
Have you got Heart of Thorns? If so, a necro with a sword is super fun, once you've trained the mastery.
If not, engineer is the most unique class to play. If you can play engi you can play anything.
IMO you're much better off leveling normally, experiencing the class and enjoying the world
Thanks
Gw2 is a meme and one of the worst MMOs on the market right now. And has gotten worse over time since the release of Heart of Thorns. Unless you're a super casual the game offers absolutely nothing that other games don't do better.
Hell, I'd argue WoW has better casual content.
t. Poor retard who spent 5000 hours over the course of 2-3 years on this sad excuse of a game
I'm only playing it casually with friends
Engi is great fun but it's the class that got cucked with the expansion, the Scrapper spec really isn't great in PvE but the base class still holds up and is pretty much on par with the others.
Engi and mesmer are decent at endgame but leveling them is torturous.
This is the truth. Pick either Engi or Mesmer.
Once you get bomb kit, you can pretty much spam your way up to max level as engi.
Gw2 is a meme and one of the worst MMOs on the market right now.
That's what people said about GW1 in its time.
>And has gotten worse over time since the release of Heart of Thorns
Except that the season 3 of the living world is the best content that was ever added to the game so far
The entire expansion was better content than anything we got in the base game.
>and then there's this faggot.webm
I'm a GW1fag and critics never said that, they called us poorfags for not paying a subscription and mocked how the game was 100% instanced
It was. Maps that didn't handhold you and something to work towards with meta events.
Show me the better maps in vanilla, show me the raids, the actually interesting and rewarding end game dungeons, the half decent stories, the meta events that aren't mindless afk spam.
No, people said GW1 wasn't even a fucking MMO despite playing with a variety of other people online and mmo market community.
What GW2 is a huge fucking hipster tranny meme spurg loading creativity killing piece of shit. The ONLY thing this game had going for it were the environmental map designers, the rest is utter gutter trash.
From muh piece over 200 years with a blood feuding race due to no fucking reason, towards the dragon threat that becomes end game Zombie shit, with PvE mechanics that amount to death balling a map to effectively speed through content, butchered battle system where choice of skills is mediocre, and my favorite cardinal sin. Guild Wars without the fucking spectator options, because muh game engine suffers rendering limitations and the WvWvW had the strategic sense of, you guessed it, a fucking death ball.
Except for
>the complete butchering of ranked pvp
>elite specializations being mandatory for pvp, and any class with a bad elite spec (warrior, thief) being completely unviable for pvp
>a """raid"""" instance with only 3 bosses, that took several months after launch to come out, and had fuck all in the way of pvp mechanics
>dungeons and fractals still in an awful state
>legendary weapons are massive collect-a-thons that represent wealth more than actual skill
>anets complete inability to shake up static meta builds that hang around for far too long, leaving classes to be stale and cookie cutter as fuck
GW is actually a good game compared to this abomination made of betrayal.
>maps
one silverwastes was enough
>raids
instances
>end game dungeons
what? also instances
>half decent stories
fuck off. also more instances
>meta events
silverwastes clones again
gw2 has been nothing more than an exercise in delivering bigger and bigger disappointments
I bought this game ages ago and only got to 32 before getting bored. I've tried leveling each class but they get boring so fast. Is there anything interesting to strive for, or anything I can do to level differently? Combat is just so terrible
>if you can play engie then you can play anything
Fucking this. Started with warrior and now herald is my main. I cant play anything except brain dead heavy armor classes now
To add to these two, the only fun I had on gw2 before I quit the game was trolling/observing a /d/ based erp guild.
They were incredibly autistic and territorial. I had a lot of fun watching them do their thing day in and day out. Ended up bailing after not one, but two trannies got overly attached to be, and ended up sending me constant private messages that got increasingly clingy.
Sadly, I don't have any screenshots of chat logs and stuff that I recorded, but they're still around I'm sure.
>trolling/observing a /d/ based erp guild
sure user, it was just trolling :^)
The first raid wing came out two weeks after HoT released.
>The new living story update is going to shake up DR and hopefully cause RP community to move the fuck out of the DR bars.
If this doesn't happen then I'm fucking off to BDO or FFXIV
Ya got me xdd
For real though, I had a lot of fun shitposting with dudes from /gw2g/, then I kinda became the butt of their jokes and stopped hanging out with them. Kinda killed a good chunk of the game for me
Don't talk shit about fractals, they're fucking great now.
>rp in gw2
Why? It's got a terrible universe. You're better off in those other games you mentioned.
I actually really want to check out black desert once WoW hits a content drought next year, I've heard they've really done a good job making it more friendly for a western audience.
>Necro
Yeah enjoy your useless PvE class. Necro is only good for PvP.
Guardian, ele or warrior
The RP community on GW2 in my country is pretty developped but they do nothing but human nobles. If some sort of GoT MMO came out it'd be devoid of players instantly.
German? I think any MMO with humans has the same issues, lots of GoT faggotry around.
I wonder if Asian games have the same issues
When I see all the Charrs sticking to their racial city, I assume there must be some Charr RP somewhere.
But yeah, the most RP I see is Asura (because the city is small so I can read all their stuff from the bank area) and Human in DR or anywhere.
French.
I played WoW for a short while and the human community didn't seem to have as many nobles, though the other Alliance races definitely have a much lower population (and Horde was dead other than BElf).
Typical necro hater, why don't I raise your dead mum so you can fuck her
GW2 has a great combat system, great MMO mechanics (motivate coop, less toxicity) and decent graphics.
But it has an average art direction, good to subpar writing (depending on the content you're playing) and it's plagued by terrible class design/balance.
The content updates are hit or miss, if you're way too casual it's good, but if you're looking for something to drain your soul like you'll be disappointed.
Mesmers and Thieves are probably the best to boost, since they're sorta the weakest to level regularly.
Guardians, Warriors, Rangers are the easiest ones, only pick these if you really don't want to bother leveling.
>pressing two or three buttons in sequence
>great combat system
The combo system is a useless gimmick, before you start bleating.
Asian games don't have RP scenes and if they do they're severely neglected. BDO launched as the near perfect game for RP but it wasn't until post-release where we got a fucking walk button and the button isn't even a toggle. The chatbox sucks and you can't go back to proof read your shit. BnS had a similar chatbox problem where it was basically setup to be the successor to TERA but the character limit was so low that you couldn't do any real writing.
In TC at least there will be times where the Salma bar is completely taken over by Charr and all they do is one of three things.
>Pretend to be fucking house cats
>They're ERPers "In heat"
>Throw their weight around and try to bully or start fights with humans.
i had a hard time enjoying GW2, and i thought ESO did what GW2 tried somewhat better.
but hey, if you enjoy this game, grats to you. i thought it looked pretty nice but the leveling experience was ass.
>GW2 has a great combat system
It feels mediocre at best in my opinion. Dodging enemy attacks in PvE by jumping or getting out of the way is nice but the variety in skills you can actually use is dogshit.
There are only a couple of meta/cookiecutter builds that people use for each class because any other build either does lower DPS with negligible upsides or focuses on a gimmick that isn't relevant for a good chunk of the content.
I haven't played this in a few months, is there anything decent yet?
Or are they still just milking the ever living shit out of the gem store to pander to their redditors?
He probably meant that it's a very fluid and dynamic, as opposed to standing behind a boss' ass and waiting for GCD.
There's a new map every 2-3 months, new one coming out tomorrow (probably Lake Doric with white mantle attacking DR) along with a new raid wing.
literally quit maybe 2 weeks after hitting max level. dungeons were ATROCIOUS and I had no desire to go any further
it's a pretty game and it's fun I guess but it left me with such a feeling of emptiness i had to walk away
too bad i never played gw1 so i could've been properly let down
Jesus Fucking Christ, people still play this abomination?
Shit
>another fucking GW2 thread
Just stop it.
Even one fucking thread every year is too much.
>no longer random
>even random aspects in the fractal are pre set
fractals should have been procedurally generated
You used to use it to might stack
Now a warrior can just do it for you
...
Oh look, it's the mongoloid with his 3 years old collages
>plays gw2
>calls someone else mongoloid
>tfw never got any erp, just clingy repetitive dungeon delvers
But my twig was cute ;(
I start the kick on necros from my 40 farm and people kick them. What are you going to do about it ?
The combat system isn't just combo or dodging, I meant that it's a more action-oriented, has proper hit box (enlarged so it's not too hard to hit) and isn't target-locked.
It's really a pity that the game's balance greatly diminishes it, since they made it so you just need to mindlessly spam #2~#5, #1
So much potential, so much wasted.
It's still a little better than avoiding red circles and repeating a stupid rotation for 10~15min.
shit game, mmos are dead
I don't really rp but I did make a story for my Charr and my other characters as well.
Main: Warrior
After a great battle some humans found a Charr infant and instead of killing it decided to keep it for ransom but over time ended up being raised by a small family in the military. Was told that some witch cursed them and when he was born he was turned into a monster. Teased n shit through childhood, had very few human friends but loved his parents. Time of age came and parents had the big talk to tell him of his real origins and real reason why the kept him in the beginning. Still showed love for them considering they were his real family anyway and went about his way to "find himself". Young adult Charr goes to BC and establishes himself there, gets weird looks because his mannerisms are more human like than charr-like, gets taken in by another family for a couple years, gains a sister, joins blood legion >(start of the game with "my dad was cool but dead" path). Main character of the entire story.
Second: Assassin
Human noble with a knack for the mischievous, found a life of books boring and went the generic "I want adventure route". Had a skill at taking things down and evolved into being a stealthy assassin to help his community out with asshats that plagued the streets behind the shadows n shit. Met ol Charr boy, doesn't like him for being this reckless command but tolerates him. Also is married to Charr boy's adopted Sister.
Third: Engie
Lady Charr who's family took Charr boy until things got settled, real wide eyed lass with a gift for anything mechanical. Senpai wanted her to be Ash but she was like "nah bruh" and ended up joining Iron. Fast forward she meets human guy in group with adopted brother and find they both like a lot of the same stuff (like gadgets and weapons and being drunk and fighting) and falls head over heels with him. Later down the line they end up becoming a couple and get married.
I just like giving my characters stories.
