None.

Only a fool would take tags as a deciding factor and forego product research.

Nice generalization

This.

You can spot a few in this thread right now.

Early Access
Survival
Roguelike
Episodic
MMO

Nah.
The internets growing obsesion with layers of irony and Netflix shows are tho.
Now fuck off tripfag.
You have shit taste anyway

indie

A generalization that is right 99.9% of the time and I'm fine with missing one ok game to quickly flush out 999 bad ones.

Don't forget all the furry fags

If you remove the tags 'indie' and 'early access', about 60% of Steam's library evaporates and absolutely not one iota of value is lost.

Guess what mate, 99% of all games are bad, not just indie games.

Good thing I can filter out the majority of games on Steam then so I have time to go through the non-indie games.

>anime
get a load of this guy.

>online
>multiplayer

>indie

Until I can watch Monogatari in front of my mother without a care in the world and get into Red vs Blue Evangelion arguments with my uncle no it isn't.

That is a terrible argument if you're trying to defend indie games m8
Not only does most games being shit not excuse their shittiness, that just makes it all the more reasonable for him to filter out all indie games so he can make some progress towards filtering out shit games

>thinking having a handy guide on what type of game it is on the store page itself isn't product research.
I would say the reviews help too but reviews on steam are meme signalling the same way salon articles are virtue signalling.

Anime

Survival

>RPG maker

There's good RPG Maker games, but if Steam is the first place I've heard of it it's likely shit. A lot of times the game is free if you don't go through Steam, too.

Metroidvania
Horror
Early Access
Racing
Sports

and

VR

FUCK VR.

Also few platformers are that good. Everyone wants to remake metroid of Castlevania. But they cant even get it right. I respect the Indie games thata ctually do something different.

Plebs.

Visual novels are.... alright. They're good when they have porn patches. And with the refund policy, they make a nice read and fap before I get my money back.

There's millions of erotic stories onliine, why would you want to read a terrible one with shitty anime drawings

>VR
>Survival
>Zombies

Other than that, I try to look at the game itself first.

>not liking survival or crafting
wow all these underage

>anime
>turn-based
>story rich
>funny
>female protagonist

How hard is it really to do it right? Hundreds of games have tried and they're all terrible. How has not a single one been good?

this user gets it

>>story rich
Do RPGs have that tag? If they do, I'm gonna fight you irl
If it just applies to walking simulators, carry on

too bad Steam doesn't even get most of the good VNs

Indie
JRPG
Survival
Free to Play

those are all the ones i have excluded on steam ATM

sad panda? you mean they don't know how to get past it or in general?

>JoJo

No user the anime bred a new generation of memesters. JoJo is Naruto tier now and thats Normalfag as fuck.

Pixel Graphics

Does Grim Dawn have boring classes or have I just not gotten far enough for them to get good? Reading skill descriptions and watching videos about those skills none of them sound remotely interesting or fun.

>female protagonist

that's what he meant by this image user
i think so at least

That's the fucking point

Undertale-like

No character customization for you then.

Every single Diablo clone ever made has boring classes
Hack & Slash is a terrible genre

CataclysmDDA combines everything mentioned itt that we all hate into the comfiest zombie apocalypse survival crafting roguelike.

Early access/twitch culture. They never have to finish any of these games, twitch streamers will stream anything cause they always need new content, also the fact that these devs pay the streamers to play their game and be positive about it.

It's about how you combine two classes into a third class with complementary abilities that form interesting playstyles.

Plus there's that constellation shit which lets you augment all of your abilities. Like I can make a Molotov cocktail cause a mini volcano to form where it hits and do continuous fire damage in the area. Or make canister grenades call down meteors. Shit like that.

Early game is boring since you're basically just forming the skeleton of your build.

Early Access
VR

As much as I want to wear dresses I know who I am. I am comfortable as a man and while but extremely masculine still too much so not too look absolutely retarded.

There are always exceptions to every tag.

Sup Forums

Great Soundtrack
Most of the time, it's just some garbage "epic" 8-bit chiptunes, derivative jRPG soundtrack #4567, "cinematic" snoozefest or some shit like that

The IGA CV games are literally my favorite games ever, and I absolutely agree with you. A lot of people making metroidvanias don't understand what made them fun.

It's similar to platformers in general. A lot of people try to make games kind of similar to SMB, but it's really hard to get a platformer right, because any little thing wrong with the physics or level design will automatically make it bad.

You know that "character customization" also includes games that let you play as a guy if that's what you customize your character to be?

survival, crafting,

ill take weebshit over foreveralphas any day.

Name 2 (TWO) things wrong with being a self-aware weeb.

...

All of them are just copypaste personalities of eachother and so fucking uninteresting to talk to about anything.

>tfw no other game will let me strap an engine to an office chair to roll around and blast zombies heads off

Now you're just talking nonsense. What pleasure do you get out of lying like that?

This shit is the plague, find me a game with these tags that's not shit. You can't, you'll probably name some shitty FOTM one before you move on to the next.

>Early access

Also technically not a tag, but
>Requires 3rd-Party Account: Uplay

None because there are good games in every genre.

you can filter early access titles now

>3rd party DRM: SecuROM

FOTMs don't happen anymore because they just get accused of marketing even if it's a ten year old sourcemod.

Haha fuck yeah. The bad old days when you could only install games three times

>plug in a second hard drive
>Activation limit exceeded. Please purchase an additional license.

So amazing
Also to be fair, I don't think it ever asked you to purchase it again, but you had to ring up customer support and beg for more keys

Anyone got that mock up of the fake Steam anime games sale made before the curation of the store went to shit? Can't believe we actually live in that world now.

Female Protagonist

If the tag was exclusive - i.e. ONLY female protagonist - I'd let it go, but "female protagonist" is slapped on anything with a decent character creator.
