Never played Total War, want to

Never played Total War, want to.

Which do I start with? Currently looking at Attila and Rome 2. And which is better, Rome 2 or 1?

Get Shogun 2 and Fall of the Samurai

Rome 2 is better than Rome 1, but Rome 1 is cheap and has some charm

Attila is better than Rome 2

Warhammer is best

Shogun 2/fots

Shogun 2 is the most balanced
Rome 1 is the classic that everyone still love
Medieval 2 is considered by many as the best
Rome 2 had a terrible launch and I haven't played it since

Medieval 1 best TW game

I feel that Shogun 2 is actually the best entry point.

It has those clunky ass menus as the earlier entries, but more refined, so you can get it into the older ones easier. It's also good because once you learn Shogun 2, the new ones are easy to learn too.

...

Shogun 2 is the most balanced because everyone does the same fucking thing

Rome 1

Shogun 2 is for weaaboos

>clunky ass menus

I would say med 2 is a better intro to the series as the game doesn't require a literal encyclopedia to understand.
Shogun 2 and onwards the game started getting a lot more complicated.

>Rome 2 is better than Rome 1

Since when? Last I heard Rome 2 was a pile of garbage. Plus Rome 1 has a really good mod scene. Hegemonia was awesome

...

well yeah, never claimed otherwise

...

OP here, Shogun 2 it is then.

Regular Shogun 2 or Fall of the Samurai?

Please someone help me out here, which is more fun?

>Rome2 + DeI vs TW:WH

go regular user, fots added lots of new mechanics and guns.

Shogun 2 and Attila are the best.

Both. And Rise of the Samurai.

regular at first, and if you want to play with guns afterward then switch to FotS

I agree

Tw wh

Rome 2 is literally worst entry in the series.

Thanks guys

Yea everyone knows its one of the worst, I guess the question I'm asking is

>divide et impera vs tw wh

just start a regular campaign and pick one of the easy starting clans. that's what I'm 90% of the way through doing

couple tips

>don't go mad upgrading every town you own to castles with a load of different buildings attached because it bloats your food consumption

>Be careful when taking new areas you need to restore order to the populace before moving on. I didn't realise this and ended up with mass rebellions after blitzkrieg-ing big portions of the map. What I did was I started to give conquered towns a grace period of tax exemption

>be wary of your generals loyalty, the easiest way to keep everyone happy is the increase your daimyo(rulers) honour. Best way to do it is to give him loads of lowball easy battles to win just make sure he doesn't die

Warhammer is on sale get that and then Attila and/or R2 when they go on sale

Best games in the series right now are still Med2, almost perfect, and Shogun2, with shitty siege battles but fantastic field one and Legendary difficulty is really nice

Then we have Shogun 2 expansion EOTS, same problem of the vanilla but with nice twist and pretty good gunpower, and Rome1, with some of the best siege in the series but camera works like shit in free mode and it's a pain to get used to.

After we have Napopan, with some nice campaigns like Italy and Europe, but it suffers greatly from little to no unite variety

And we and with ''everything else'' tier: Rome2 and Atilla have the same fucking problem: maps are too big and every Ai has too much units, so battle feels like a constant repetition of the previous . I would argue that Atilla is better because Age of CharlesMagne Dlc is basically Med2, but online wise Rome 2 is better with tons of factions to play with. Empire is just shit

meant for

Medieval 2 is the best in the series imo. I'd start there.
