I'm honestly scared to go back and watch them.
I've consistently heard from other anons that the movies have aged like milk.

15k with on dummy with no padding.
22k-26k in raid scenario.

Pretty shit.

Didn't know they were considered bad but I'll always prefer Mike Myers in Wayne's World more.

>It's a "Maelstrom is being a headless chicken again in 3rd place and is attacking second place and only increasing the gap between 1st and 2nd" episode

I swear to god 80% of frontlines matches are just close ties between Adders / Flames but determined by which of the two gets fucking sandwiched between armies of Bard LB spam at the end.

I wish the minion system didn't suck so fucking bad.
>Can't use them in duties
>Can't use them while mounted

So basically you never ever see them unless you're idling in a city or fishing.

I want to give DRK a shot, any tips on actually being decent at the job? DRK is one of the few jobs I literally know nothing about so I thought I should be informed about the job before doing shit like PoTD and dungeons.

turn on darkside all the time or you're a shit DRK

Depends on your level.

Level 30 normally, level 60 in PoTD.

Basic idea is to keep Darkside up at all times. Use Syphon Strike/Delirium combo and Blood Price as necessary to keep your MP up. Use Dark Arts to purge excess MP.

going from 0 knowledge to the entire kit at lv 60 is a terrible idea

at least run a few dungeons at 30 so you have some kind of idea of whats going on

just read the skills, they're all pretty self explanatory. you spend most of your time generating and then dumping mana with dark arts and darkside n stuff

While we're talking about DRK, how important is it to keep the -10% Int debuff up? Like what does INT even dictate for enemies, magic defence?

Same thing as it does for players, spell damage. Basically reduces outgoing damage from magic attacks. You want to keep it up as much as possible as almost all party/raid damage in the game is magic.

Magic damage. It makes spells cast by enemies weaker. The whole class is specifically about tanking magic damage.

it's not all that important, nice to have when it's a magic damage boss
you spam delirium combo when you can't do dark arts > Soul eater combo

Kinda negligible outside Savage/EX primals raid.

You will be using for damage because the total combo potency is higher than Power Slash combo when you're not spending DA on Soul Eater combo.

LOTRO says hi.

"1960's james bond pastiche and nemesis unfrozen 30 years later, can't cope" was a legitimately good premise and they handled it quite well

the problem is it spawned two sequels and infinite memes

>tfw can't decide between leveling SCH or AST

Both are pretty fun, can't make my mind
I already have WHM

you use delirium constantly if you're not a shitlord gritlord, so i don't know what the point of this question is, but the answer is "it's good"

>keep Darkside up at all times

>pull
>slap dat muddafuggin Blood Price key
>spam Unleash until BP ends
>then spam Syphon Strike to regain whatever MP you need
>rinse and repeat

>you use delirium constantly if you're not a shitlord gritlord
what

SCH is for braindead idiots, its too easy. AST has buffs which people will come to expect you to hand out.

Level AST and fish for Balances

t. Dragoon main

SCH is the best feeling healer. It has the highest skill floor, as it's highest healing potency is 600 and it has limited prolonged healing, but the potential for what it can do in fights is limited only by the player.

How are you planning to cycle through enemies if you put target closes enemy to Tab?

>There are monks that still shoulder tackle at the beginning of a fight instead of just walking up

Stop that
It's like a 1000 damage, more if it crits, difference between using it at the beginning and using it in your opener with GL3 on

I guess he means that it has higher potency than an un-buffed souleater, so you'd use it when you need mp from syphon strike instead of power slash.

walk closer to the one I want to tab to

There are monks that still "save" shoulder tackle in fights where doing so saves you about .5 seconds and only use it 2 times the entire fight because "lol it's only 100 potency XD"

I guarantee these same people would say that saving Spineshatter Dive is dumb even though it's lower potency if you're using both on CD.

What are some nice FCs in Gilgamesh? The one I am in right now has been dead for a while.

I'm using this for early BLM (level 26 thaumaturge) rotation

lightning 2 --> fire 1 till not enough mana --> scathe --> transpose --> blizzard 1 a few times --> lightning 2 --> scathe --> transpose --> fire 1 till not enough mana --> repeat

anything wrong? not counting swift/surecast

I guarantee that people that say that don't factor in the added damage from GL3

Have you thought of a server transfer instead?

please don't mix new and old memes. you're ruining my childhood.

>ever using Scathe when you're not moving
>hardcasting thunder II

Literally redundant. The default tab target filter goes from the left of the screen to the right, keep that in mind and you'll never fuck up tab targeting.
If you really need to isolate an enemy to tab target, rotate the camera so it's the only one on the screen.

>DRG opens with a jump

What if you want to target someone far away like in pvp?

What server do you suggest

>ever using scathe when you're not moving

used to pump out extra DPS while transpose animation goes on what's the problem

>hardcasting

what did he mean by this

I've seen people even in these threads saying "you should save shoulder tackle for gap closing because it's only 100 potency"

They don't realize that mathematically it's only 10 potency lower than Howling Fist in single-target and a little under twice the potency of Steel Peak.

>tfw just recently realized this + using fracture is a dps gain
I finally ascended my monk game

This makes me want to vomit.

Cast Thunder 1, cast fire until no mana, cast blizzard, cast thunder again. It doesn't really change until 38.

When you unlock thundercloud, your thunders ticks will have a chance to give you an instant free cast of any level of thunder.

Transpose is an ogcd, so you can scathe into it for some extra damage and stay on the gcd. Only works before you get bliz 3 though.

Only problem I can see is casting thunder 2 instead of thunder 1. If you read the tooltip, the only differences are the duration and the cast time. Thunder 1's cast fits perfectly with your gcd, and you should use it just after you transpose into ice. If you get a thundercloud proc, use thunder 2 for the increased damage and duration on the dot.

I forgot, transpose is a thing. Do that in between no mana and blizzard.

You do more DPS if you just clip the transpose animation with a blizzard/fire cast. You should never be using scathe unless you need to be moving for the next 2.5 seconds.

Hardcasting = actually spending the full duration casting the spell.. Just use Thunder instead, it's more DPS in spite of the slightly lower potency on the initial hit. The only time you should be using Thunder II is when:
A. You have a thundercloud proc and you are too low level to use Thunder III
B. You're too low level to use Thunder III and you're precasting before the tank pulls

I remember when people use to say Mercy Stroke wasn't a good cross class despite there being literally nothing else good and it being F R E E damage

>DRG opens with Piercing Talon, Jump, Piercing Talon, Dragonfire Dive

Not him, but I don't see how that will help in pvp with a bunch of people?

>tfw I could recognize this as Sup Forums-/xivg/ just from the op while in catalog view.

I come here too often.

People say that it's not that good for DRK which is true in some cases, it's better to take Awareness and Foresight instead, but in a raid environment you should take Mercy Stroke, and you should always have it as a DPS because you'd be fucking retarded to take a defensive CD over it. I've never seen anyone say you shouldn't have Mercy Stroke as a monk/DRG.

That was the point.

I'd ask why the fuck would people to something so stupid, but then I remember what game we're playing.

>didn't realize that 130 extra potency every 30 seconds was good
>didn't realize that a 220 potency attack on a job where every move that isn't a DOT is

I just assumed he did it because it looked cool. I've seen a DRG that just ran all over the place spamming piercing talon during a fight just because there were a lot of AOEs.

at least I got past my brain problems

You should be taking Awareness, Foresight, Conva, voke and mercy stroke as a DRK. Bloodbath is really mediocre for it.

>Whoa dude! Gap closer and shit
>saving it for gap closing means you're leaking dps in 99.9% of the case

Great design.

Granted, some people might argue against Fracture since Bootshine is an effective 300 potency, but even if the occasional Fracture means less bootshines, it also means less Twin Snakes, which is only 140 potency.

At least they have it interact with Power Surge and BOTD (even if the former is better used on regular Jump) to encourage retards who can't into math to actually use it for damage. Compare that to shoulder tackle which is higher potency than spineshatter dive is, but most monks just use it for gap closing because it's "only" 100 potency.

>thunder 1 over 2
