I'd recommend you give the old series a watch. At least the few episodes everyone goes nuts about, I'm sure you can get a list with some googling.

The cartoon was really something else. The style is unique as fuck, and each episode is a quality, curated experience. Some are mind blowingly experimental, pushing the boundaries of the medium, while others are just nudity and niggers jokes. It's a wild fucking ride, and will make you realize how truly hype the upcoming season is. When it "ended" all those years back, so many balls were blued.

If you know what Kino no Tabi is and like that sort of shit, you'll fucking love Jack.

Up until season 5 got announced I always felt this atleast had it better than Samurai Jack because the last episode was a decent season finale and even most of the heroes could care less about the goal. Hell they beat a higher tier threat than the main villain.
