Also the map shows 4 humanoid figures standing on top of the dungeons, which I guess are supposed to represent the 4 bosses?

elaborate

The Gameinformer information says that a 3D image/hologram shows up on your sheikah slate and you can tilt it and rotate it, which does the same thing to the dungeon. This is used to solve puzzles and move blocks.

In Stagg's airship, Batman gains control of the stabilisation and tilts the ship to get around too.

bump

Gravity physics puzzles aren't exactly a new thing.

So wait, the dungeons are all inside these big robot things?

All of the big robot things have dungeons in them, it doesn't mean that's all the dungeons.

Gravity puzzles had been done long before Arkham Knight too you fuckin nerd. They'll be done long after BotW as well, because it's an easy to design puzzle that any moron can solve and feel smart about.

I know I'm really looking forward to Zelda and loved the puzzle in AK, I'm excited to play this dungeon...

There's also not-mech dungeons, they're in the sections of the landscape that are obscured by clouds at all times in the demo.

There's a gamexplain video where they pinpoint ~4 such locations.

Which video?

The video is two fucking hours long, so I don't feel like finding and time stamping every part where the cloudy sections are mentioned, but one of the times it comes up is:

Those being the locations of dungeon is just a theory tho. A GAME THEORY

different user, but aonuma actually hints at a possible dungeon location within a forest in the gameawards 2014 gameplay demonstration

I honestly cannot imagine a more punchable voice than this guy. I just cannot watch his videos anymore, it's fucking terrible to listen to.

There's another one around 1:34:04

This is very interesting

bamp

I don't play shitty comicbook superhero games so I'll be happy to play that dungeon in BotW.

Where did the "boss" picture on the top come from? GameInformer? Comes quite new to me

I personally wouldn't mind about major dungeons being only the 4 mechanical deities if the "environment" itself offers a certain degree of puzzles, events and exploration.
If they were to reinvent the dungeon formula, I'd apreciate to find an intriguing overworld with some puzzles.
The world bosses such as Hinox and Steppe Talus may imply this approach, but they also quite be completely optional.

Buuuut, yeah, I'd love some more dungeons aside from mechanical beasts and trial shrines.

Rito -> Eagle / air
Goron -> Chameleon / fire
Gerudo -> Camel / earth
Zora -> Elephant (?) / water

I guess we pretty much covered the "basic dungeon element schedule".

It's a neat little puzzle. Why keep it contained within a single game?
