Ok, but which one is the best game and which one is best for lewding up my daughter?

Weren't the translations for the first (or rather, second) one beyond god awful?

There was a handful of engrish, yeah.

Very nice. I don't like that it's Steam only though. Not everybody uses that garbage, especially for small niche games.

>Refine
Nope.

>playing the versions that don't have nudity

>first game now available
Neat. Not sure if I'm motivated to be playing Princess Maker but I'll keep tabs on it.

is this gonna be another "uwu they removed a debug item that wasnt supposed to be accesable to the player" rant?

Only that Frank Hale 2 is known to westerners so highly doubt it.

Refine are remakes and not the original game. The paper doll underneath the clothing is gone and replaced with illustrations.

>Not everybody uses that garbage, especially for small niche games.
that's exactly what a lot of people use it for.

Well, not me, though I can see how many people would find it convenient. I just wish publishers would always provide a drm free option.

Did Princess Maker 1 even have the paper doll underlayer? I know that Princess Maker 2 did, but I didn't think it was in the others.

I only played 2, I just figured being in the same series it would be the same case.

Princess Maker Refine does have nudity in it, though it will probably censored in the Western release.

Not that it fucking matters since this isn't what the game is about you homos.

But that's the only reason I keep one eye on the princess maker threads. I want to be able to raise a hero, then go back and raise a slut!

Actually, the Korean release is the one that gets censored. Western is just fine.

The nudity in the first game is for mostly enemy portraits anyway.

They remove it with PM3, I think specifically because of the paper dolls in PM2.

Would be cool if they made a definitive version of those games for PC instead of straight port.
Would be cool to switch between Saturn and PC-98 graphics and music.

Its the same in 2. The Korean release gave characters bikini tops.

I only played the second one. Do the other ones have any gameplay features that make them worth playing?

Yeahh, eheheh, my daughter....right.

They already released a update and removed the censorship in the Princess Maker 2 because the koreans were complaining steamcommunity.com/gid/103582791455933023/announcements/detail/907864216683002848

Also, from the PM2 Refine facebook page
>Along with exciting news about the Princess Maker Refine, the team is also happy to announce that there are some additional contents coming to PM2 Refine as well.

Probably some more fixes and resolution configuration.

Nope they would rather delay piracy by one hour than offer a drm free alternative

fucking nice, we're actually getting a new one translated

i was a bit worried because they started with pm2, the one that had a dos version translated forever ago

It's a choice between a DRM platform and risking a bitcoin miner being installed.

What does the not-2s bring to table?

Steam isn't intrinsically a DRM solution, retard. Valve don't mandate their DRM features.

besides a new grill, im not sure
but i guess refine adds voice acting and maybe some other stuff

Truely worst korea

All over the cost of a large meal at a better fast food restaurant.

Princess Maker had a debug option that let you see her naked sprite, but you had to switch back to proper clothes to continue playing.

Would you guys say these games are fun?

Princess maker 2 is in my top 5 favourite games.

no nipples - no buy

do you want to raise a cute daughteru

Eh.

On the one hand, exploring the different possible options is a game like this is amusing. In PM2 you could enter swordfighting tournaments, magic tournaments, ballet, art tournaments, and go exploring while defending yourself with martial, magic, and even diplomatic stats. There were a variety of NPCs to run into and different events to encounter when exploring. As such, you have a reason to play through the game more than once to see what it had to offer.

On the other hand, once you went through a particular route, there wasn't much point to revisit it. I think I played PM2 fully three times: once doing martial tournements/exploring, once trying to talk my way through explorations, and once as a super-mage. Past that, there didn't feel like much point in playing again. Sure, you could try to get a different or better ending occupation for her, but the difference between endings was frequently just two lines of dialogue and a portrait. (And fuck Artist for overriding nearly everything else.)

I did play more than that, but that was through using cheat codes and such to see how much I could break the game.

I haven't played any of the other Princess Maker games, but I suspect they are likely the same. There's going to be a few playthroughs enjoyable just seeing what you can do with the game, but likely not much reason to revisit as aspect unless you wanted to attempt to "perfect" it.

You are an idiot who never actually played the game.

I actually played the DOS version like 15 years ago

Can you point out which parts were censored and which weren't? Because the Siren Robe was still in the censored version of the game.

>drm free
now it makes sense why you hate steam pirate scum

I've seen 1 or 2 screenshots with missing nipples and there's no option to see your daughter naked

the ideal platform for these games would be GoG but I'd assume the publishers want to make their buck so I understand why they'd use steam.

plus i'm sure they want that sweet ironic weeb money as well.

The only things changed were the vacations, such as these. Ironically, the pre-censored art were the ones without nipples. The censored ones just put her in clothing (or made the clothing non-transparent).

Here are the scenes, for a direct comparison.
spriters-resource.com/pc_computer/princessmaker2/sheet/63574/

There was never a game option to see your daughter naked. There was the Siren Robe, which is in both versions, although that covers the naughty bits. You can also glitch the clothing layer off (or edit the files so the clothing doesn't show up) and see her nude that way, but again, that is in both versions as well.

Actually, it was the fact that you could see your 11-year old daughter nude that put pressure on the company in Japan, and the reason why later Princess Maker games used just one single layer for the daughter/clothing. (Scenes did still occasionally have nudity.)

Hi Sup Forums, redpill me on this game. I've seen it posted a bit here and there but I've never actually played it, and would love to purchase the remake.

Is it a dating sim? Or a strategy of some sort, or like Persona 3, I see there's stats like weight on the screenshots here.

Really confused about how it works and plays, my only foray into the jap adult game industry was Rance Sengoku, and that was a rabbit hole of its own kind.

You raise a daughter. That's it

The goal of the game is to either marry your daughter or to turn her into a flower girl.

Spreadsheet simulator. In persona terms, think the free time sections as a full game with more indepth stat management. You have to allocate a limited amount of time to raise money and stats to build your daughter. Effectively you're raising stats to one specific social link of your choice in persona terms.

It's mostly like Monster Rancher raising sim (but not with different monsters), or something like Long Live The Queen but with more options of what to do.

You set a schedule for the girl character, for a week. You need to balance training and lessons (increase stats) with work (increase money) and rest or vacations (remove fatigue). There are a bunch of lesser stats, like stress or how much she appreciates you, which can change depending on what actions you put her through. Also, there are a bunch of other things to be doing in the game, from attending tournaments (basically, testing specific stats) to combat tournaments (a battle system, at least in PM2) to exploring the area around town in a RPG fashion (at least, in PM2).

The exploration and RPG bit is rather minor in the game, but it can be quite fun.

>my only foray into the jap adult game industry was Rance Sengoku
Outside the occasional nipple, Princess Maker isn't really an adult game series.
