I don't know why I wanted to make this video but I did maybe to get a discussion going on lol who knows but I am open to critique and/or criticism. Tell me how you guys feel to improve myself in future videos. Thank you
Why is sonic adventure still popular?
Fuck off eceleb
thank you, you're too kind
Who knows, I still like them and give 'em a playtrough every now and then, guess they just came out at the RIGHT time, they are still glitchfests but I guess that makes them very fun too, breaking the game feels so good when it looks cool and it gives people a sense of satisfaction to bend things to their rules I guess, music is pretty nice, so is the setting and the chaos.
Bear in mind, when SA1 came out it got 9's and 10's everywhere, but if you play it now, it didn't stand the test of time compared to others like Ocarina or Resident Evil 4.
People are willing to forgive flaws in late 90s 3D games because they were still getting used to it. Especially with Sonic Adventure since it was Sonic's first real 3D game. Sure it has problems but it's still fun to play. Also helps that every 6th gen Sonic console game was worse than the Adventure games so they look better by comparison.
I tried playing SA1 again back in 2015 after not having played it since I was younger when it came out.
My god that game is trash. Treasure hunting isn't fun, fishing isn't fun, slow-paced Omega levels aren't fun, finishing Tails's levels in 2 minutes isn't fun. The cutscenes are all, of course, awful. The overworld areas are shitty, especially the forest maze.
The game skates by on nostalgia alone. I understand that a lot of games from that era don't hold up visually, and that's fine. But SA1 doesn't hold up absolutely anywhere
>I don't know why I wanted to make this video
For youtube money and getting easy views from Sup Forums.
Also, work better on your research in the smash hit "Shadow the Hedgehog" they reveal how he survived, it was a shitty reveal and it was very well hidden deep in a shit game but at least they expained it I guess.
Eggman sent one of his robots during the final battle vs the Biolizard and rescued Shadow, he was uncunsious so Eggman kept it a secret to create robot versions of Shadow that you fight in ShtH.
Before you get to the reveal in ShtH, it's unlcear wether or not you're playing as the real Shadow since some endings and Sonic Heroes suggest that the Shadow post-SA2 is a robot or a clone of the original, leaving it a bit ambiguous.
Music, it was out of the ordinary back then to have a soundtrack like that, with vocals and all, specially for a platform game.
Chao Garden carries the Adventure series.

In all honesty I have never played shadow the hedgehog maybe for a little when my friend brought it over we played it on the gamecube but it reeally turned me off with the guns in the game like wtf. Thank you I will do better and I will actually put an annotation saying that i was false
You speak pretty well and that video was very easy to listen to.
I also pretty much agree with you. I figured people like Adventure and may want to see a third due to nostalgia. I haven't played the games in a long time but from what I remembered of them they were good games.
Not sure how many people honestly care about canon. I mean for me at least games like Mario, Zelda and Sonic would be a lot better having no true canon across all games. I guess for Sonic 1-3 and Adventure fine but not every game should follow a canon story.
The whole crap with Zelda to me is just retarded. They should all be a separate canon from each other.
Watched your video. I don't give a shit about sonic games but I still watched it. You have a nice sounding voice but you still have a lot to improve. Suprised many of your videos have surpassed 1000 of views
Look at the rest of the videos you easily fooled tard
>Sonic Adventure
>A lot better plot and storyline
I dunno. I feel if anything it relied too heavily on past circumstance to give the current events some convenient justification, SA2 sort of does the same but since Shadow and Eggman were there in the past to spur them on presently there's reasoning to it. Eggman and Chaos in SA had barely related motivations, and Chaos especially was just rampaging because.
While I see where you're coming from with the open world ambition, I have to agree with Retropolis Zone in that really it seems like Sonic Team saw other 3D games doing hub worlds and decided Sonic needs one too. Granted I personally didn't mind Station Square since it gave me some room to adjust to the controls and character abilities before an action stage and also felt they added a nice touch of personality to the setting, but in contrast SA2 streamlining things and saving the fluff for cutscenes didn't hurt either.
You make a point that was sort of always in my face but never hit me for some reason, the Adventure games are so far the only ones aside from the Genesis Advance and Rush and Rivals sort of but those are hand held which are a series so it sort of makes sense people want a genuine continuation of their natural conclusion instead of one off 3D Sonic installments that may or may not improve on the prior mechanics and ideas.
You're video's good, I like how you just start discussing instead of adding weird intros and dumb oc self inserts ecelebs usually do in their videos.
Avoid using buzzwords like "triggering" and the usual stuff you hear here on Sup Forums. Also try not to swear, you make yourself sound too imature. Your video was kinda short too lol
Try to be a bit more relaxed and mature and if you really wanna swear just do it subtly instead of "lel big da cat FUCKim"
In the end just try finding a good balance between adding personal opinions and facts about the games, make the video feel natural instead of forced
Chao Garden, Sonic/Shadow gameplay, and they came out at a time when they hadn't yet butchered the characterization of characters like Knuckles.
That's it. That's the whole reason. I'm not watching your video but these are the reasons why Sonic Adventure is still well-liked by many people. The rest of both games are unarguably shit, other than the three factors mentioned above.
And the music I suppose but that's true of nearly every Sonic game.
It's pretty much the first 3d Sonic and it's a Dreamcast game. Why wouldn't it be remembered fondly?
>Why wouldn't it be remembered fondly?
Because brand recognition and nostalgia can only go so far to carry a bad game
>unarguably shit
If Knuckles unique mechanics are solid so his glide and climb aren't glitched, and his speed's about equal to Sonic there's nothing wrong with Emerald Hunting except for how the radar and hints work.
The Eggman stuff could work if they figured out how to balance it so the challenge from the enemies and platforming felt adequate without being annoying. Though personally I feel it should be given to Omega if anything.
