Honestly after ME3, Bioware need to do more to show people that this one is actually good. The fact that so little is show makes me think it's gonna be shit.

Seeing how even a good chunk of Sup Forums has already pre-ordered it (because it's just 40 dollars and there are no other scifi games coming out) I think they will do just fine.

Mass Effect is niche franchise mate. Normies don't play it compared to something like assassin's Creed. I mean assassin's Creed like mass Effect is 10 years old and the franchise has sold over 120 million units; mass Effect in contrast couldn't hit 20 million.

Companies usually feel the burn of a backlash against a series having a bad product in the next installment. AssCreed is a lot like this, how 3 sold a fuckton but then 4 sold terribly after the reception of 3. Watch Dogs 2 also sold awfully compared to the first.
