>decide to mute shitty mario kart music to listen to my own
>obviously need to keep the sfx for feedback
>go to the sound options
>there are no sound options
So is this game made for "children" or just complete retards, because I had to know the difference between i386 and i486 when I was a kid just to get games running, and I legitimately didn't expect a dev to completely remove the concept of settings and preference from it's game, sfx and music sliders should be the most basic settings that any game should have in my opinion.
Decide to mute shitty mario kart music to listen to my own
The soundtrack isn't that bad, not nearly as bad as Wii's anyway.
Comparing it to other mario kart music is like comparing apples and oranges, I am comparing it to actual music.
...
>hurr games don't need settings nintendo tells you how loud the music should be
You didn't have to post
>making this amount of effort.
How will you know its the third lap without the music?
The game only has 4 hud elements, and one of them is laps, you fucking casual.
You don't play nintendo games that often nowadays, do ya?
>not using neet catalog
Every 5 years when an emulator comes out.
You're a fucking idiot: youtube.com
If you're playing split screen with your friends, AKA how you're supposed to play the fucking game, it's the easiest way to know if someone else has cracked the third lap before you and an indication for others if you're the first.
Why are you linking me this trash user, why would you assume I care?
Do you think I'm going to go "oh, well, I didn't like the last 10 generic big-band jazz songs I've heard in this game, so clearly the 11th one will do it for me"
It's trash, just like the rest of this game's music, and if you think otherwise your opinions are just wrong facts.
why don't you hide stubs by default
the powerups are straight communism, it gives you the most powerful shit when you're in last, 100% of the time, and only worthless coins when your in 1st
its fucking dumb
of course it was casualized and designed for an even younger audience or they wouldnt have so much painfully unfair "balance" that takes even more skill out of the game
what i want to know is the music you were going to replace it with
lmao
>implying you have friends
Splitscreen is still just 8 or 16 hud elements, which is fucking nothing, ontop of which you can track who's hit what lap and when on the minimap with even a brain-damaged retard amount of mental information input.
I'm imagining you watching a movie, complaining about not having an option to mute the soundtrack and sperging out because you can't replace it with nu-metal.
This shit is a big part of the reason why I stopped supporting Nintendo games, they absolutely hate any customizable settings. They're willing to sacrifice a game's entire reputation, like Star Fox Zero or Phantom Hourglass, because they want to force a divisive control scheme down your throat. And if you wanna play hard mode? Too bad, you have to beat the game with no replay value first.
Oh good, well I was infact born yesterday so I'm just going to post my music so you can shit on it as per the usual on Sup Forums.
kek
This isn't a movie, it's a video game, also metal gear solid is a movie and you can still individually control sfx, music, and speech volumes, so mk8 has no excuse other than the fact it's made for the lowest common denominator of human being.
Normal people like me won't post ITT because it would be a waste of time saying "you are right user this sucks".
So you'll have to endure complete retards posting shit. And because other retards will see this thread, they'll think the majority is right, and that your complain is unjustified, thus creating more retards, keeping the nice circle of life in shape.
>having god awful music taste
LOL
Thanks for proving op's point user.
>decide to mute shitty mario kart music to listen to my own
Every song is good except Dolphin Shoals and Jungle Japes. You might want to get your ears checked.
>new system emulator comes out
>sudden influx of faggots complaint about games 4 years late
No wonder pc doesn't get exclusives anymore. It's impossible to satisfy you fucks. The music in mk8 is good, either listen to it or put your whole game on mute and listen to whatever shitty band you claim to like.
>Every song is good except Dolphin Shoals
Shame nintendrones can't decypher the difference between "good music" and "my favorite music"
Your opinions are subjective and meaningless, the music is objectively generic as fuck.
MK8 has one of the most overrated soundtracks of this gen. It's honestly one of the worst in the series.
You still have yet to say what music you actually like.
No wonder nintendo still sells consoles, their fans are retards with no taste who will scarf down anything nintendo shits down their throats.
Fact is the only difference between me and you is you need to justify wasting upwards of $400 to play this piece of shit that I blew through in a day and considered at best a 6/10 game with a 1/10 soundtrack and zero replay value.
>it was casualized
Every single Mario Kart game is for casuals, retard.
Typical steamfag, why i'm not surprised
I've never muted a game's music before because to me, like a movie, it all goes hand in hand as a product.
I get where you're coming from if it's a primarily multiplayer game, since a bunch of them don't have music because of the assumption you're gonna play something else, but the music here is so charming and so inherently linked to my enjoyment of the game that it's comparable to a film score for me.
It just reminds me of when the original Xbox came out and people I knew would put Third Eye Bind over every game and it annoyed me.
It's irrelevant and you know it.
What's amatter mustard? Your emulator didn't come with custom soundtracks?
You mean to tell me you waited 4 years to play an imperfect version of a game and it doesn't even come with any extra perks?
Lmao your life is shit.
>says the guy who went through all the trouble of emulating a shitty game
>to listen to my own
Post your music, you no having taste bitch
>thinks mk8's soundtrack is shit
>yet refuses to say what music you like
I know for a fact that you are just some retarded falseflagger and you have never played this game before.
>but the music here is so charming and so inherently linked to my enjoyment of the game that it's comparable to a film score for me.
That's your problem, I don't just see "oh it's a nintendo game so it's perfect in every way and as a complete package", I played a playable enough game with bad music so I wanted to mute it because I am capable of objectively deconstructing and analyzing a game using my own brain instead of nintendo's regurgitated opinions.
Just disable it in the CEMU sound options, lmao
You're objectively too riled up over a kart game.
>Shame nintendrones can't decypher the difference between "good music" and "my favorite music"
Except one of the guys you quoted said every song was good except two. That's not him naming his favorite. Its him naming every song but two.
>People trying to defend a lack of custom settings and attacking OP
There is no reason any game from the past few generations shouldn't have separate options for music, sound effects and dialog. There is no defending it. Liking the soundtrack doesn't somehow make a lack of basic options ok.
I ain't saying it's perfect, I'm saying the music is there for a reason.
I agree with you OP, there really is no reason to not give the players options as basic as this.
>Your emulator didn't come with custom soundtracks?
Well technically it does, I'm just not willing to put the effort into figuring out what format this is, how to convert to it, etc, when I could just have had a basic feature that every game since the 80s has had.
>and it doesn't even come with any extra perks?
Well it is running at 4k 120fps. It comes with a lot of perks. But that doesn't stop the game itself from being effectively unfinished bullshit.
>cemu drops over a year after Wii U is kill
>suddenly a bunch of Wii U game threads
>they're all salty faggots complaining not about the game itself but the lack of options that their emulator provides
So this... is the power.. of master race... woah
>Hey guys let me turn off the songs in mario kart!
Said no one ever, just op being a faggot
Yeah and another guy listed that as his favorite song.
And the worst part is all of the songs are the same big band bullshit or generic ez listening rock bullshit.
Purely fake opinions.
I get that it's there for a reason, but it's shit, and adds nothing to the game, so I want to disable it.
Can't, there's no separation between sfx and music.
...
No, it's an option that should be in the game, not the emulator.
That is literally your opinion
>And the worst part is all of the songs are the same big band bullshit or generic ez listening rock bullshit.
Good job proving you only heard a couple songs. And calling yourself out as the mad OP.
Mk8s music goes very well with the game flow. Why would you want to disrupt that?
Also no, you don't need to hear the sfx to play the game well.
It's the opinion of everyone who's made a non-nintendo game in the last 2 decades.
Fiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiine.
I was going to replace it with this, faggot
youtube.com
>song starts
>cue jazzy sax, pseudo power-metal guitar, or sometimes upbeat piano
WOW ORIGINAL AS FUCK
It's not DDR or guitar hero, or even an atmospheric game where it's used to build tension, the music is meaningless background noise, and I already have much better meaningless background noise, in higher quality audio formats, which suits my tastes.
The autism flows through you
>cue jazzy sax, pseudo power-metal guitar, or sometimes upbeat piano
So already more variations than what you originally claimed. Good job. You're destroying your own point.
And there's plenty of other variations in the MK8 soundtrack. But you know, you'd have to actually play the game with sound on to hear those.
And yet those opinions still don't matter. The only one that does is the game dev and the playtesters who made their decision.
You didn't even financially support the game so your opinion means less than zero. Either play it the way it was made or fuck off.
Or better yet, learn to code and make the option yourself.
>Sup Forums actually defending a lack of options
The quality of the music is subjective and ultimately irrelevant. Even if the music is god tier, after enough time you will get bored of it. Having the option to play your own music while still having sound effects should be mandatory.
>it's a "pirate complaining about a game he got for free" thread
Game discussion quality drops in direct correlation with new emulation tech. This is a fact. This is also why developers don't give a shit about pc anymore. KEK even blizzard is developing their games with a fucking console focus now
OP is completely right. I like Mariokart a lot but nintenyearolds are just as bad as any other console fan boys. Another thing that is completely unacceptable is how you can't do one player on the game pad and the other on the TV, TV has to be split screen.
Turning off the music is not a common option. The music is part of the game. It's like arguing that a regular Mario game should have the option to turn off the music. When the music has arguably become just as famous as the gameplay.
Something like voice acting in a game should have an option to be turned off and replaced with subtitles. Because that serves an actual need (hearing impaired and some games have horrible dubbing). But few people would turn off the music.
What games are you playing where sound options aren't common?
Do you seriously think a simple option would ever be a detriment? Even if you personally don't have a use for it, surely you can understand that others would.
>turning off music isn't a common option
>it's OK when Nintendo does it because it's Nintendo
I hope you realize Nintendo would have fat less shortcomings if their fan base actually held them accountable for shit every now and then.
>What games are you playing where sound options aren't common?
Games with voices where I actually want to turn them off, but there's no option. Like Final Fantasy or Elder Scrolls.
>muh Nintendo boogeyman is the only one who does it!
Don't delude yourself, this thread is just another excuse for more console war shitposting.
>pirate doesn't deserve opinion because he didn't pay for the game
>"but this guy who wasted $600 on this console and will obviously defend it to the death as a result sure does!"
