Dark Souls is shit
literally "i'm shit": the post
> I have to die to Seath to progress the game
What did From mean by this?
How bad are you are games
what PS2 game is in your pic?
I never understood why people had trouble with this boss
>roll past his first strike
>run up stairs
>kill dogs on stairs or jump down when he chases you to kill dogs
>kill him
works everytime
>go through the door
>dodge / block his attack with the knight shield you find before you get there
Run behind him and up the stairs
>kill the dogs on top of the stairs
>jump off when Capra follow you
>heal and fight him 1v1
It really isn't that hard if you use the environment to your advantage
if its so bad why dont you go ahead and make a better game then :)
Dodge, retard.
If the dogs didn't die in a single hit, you would have some kind of point.
>he's still alive after that
>he was turned around doing nothing
This gif rubs me the wrong way
I did. I worked on Fallout 4.
casual filters?
>get poise
>that literally can not happen
dark souls is a thinky-game like Zelda maybe it's best you go back to playing titanfall.
If you think dark souls is hard wait till you play nioh. Its harder than dark souls by far so it's better
>not immediately rolling up stairs and killing doggos
>not having better poise
how bad are you are are oyou are you are you english
When will Dark Souls stop being the casual's first "hardcore" game?
Like.. they could be playing games that are actually difficult, and not just YOU DIED punishing.
This, Sif and Queelag are my favourite fights in the game.
contrarian thread for fags
>shit at games
>helps make a worse, dumbed down version of a game
The pieces are all coming together
I feel like you have to physically try to die to capra
if you have a shield...at all, you can beat him
s(^_^)b
Mash that circle button
you can also firebomb him over the fog gate
>shit camera
>fairly long run back
>first mainstream souls game
But he was easy.
The game only gets hard for even casuals after the bell gargoyles.
>tough but fair
It's really more the opposite, it's not tough if you know what you're doing but the game focuses a lot on withholding information from you to force you to learn stuff, which can seem "unfair"
>most of the people in this thread either had to look up strats to do this or did it in co-op
>still act cool in an anonymous bengali sewing board
you can pretend all you want but you know its true.
>People saying it's easy after they know how to beat him
Yeah no shit
Most people don't see the stairs on the first try and they don't know that you need to lure the dogs and all that
All they know is that when they enter the fog gate, the arena is small as fuck and they get killed really fast before having the chance to look around
I've beat most bosses fairly easy and I've beat O&S on my first try all because the game (aside from this boss and the BoC) has a simple formula
>Enter room
>Observe enemy
>Plan accordingly
And since you get rushed by this meth head and his dogs, you can't do that
After you know about the stairs, this boss is easy but don't acts like you knew right away how to beat him and didn't rage like a tard
I didnt do any of that
I walked in with my shield up and that was it
>strats
>s
How many different ways can you write "Press O/B when you're about to get slapped"?
The hardest part about this battle, is the start.
If you can get away from the initial burst, and isolate the dogs, it's a pretty generic fight.
If this fight were totally fair it wouldn't be memorable. You get caught in an awful situation and, conveniently being an undead who can just keep trying, you plan for it the next time and take advantage of the terrain and the weakness of the dogs. That's how this game works faggot. You're supposed to be fighting intimidating enemies who are tougher than you and die to learn how not to die.
All this talk about "unfairness" getting one killed (looking at you Joseph and Matt) is missing the entire point of the game.
If DSP could do it, you can do it.
Sure he died a ton, but he still did it.
Now get to it, you faggot OP you.
>Most people don't see the stairs on the first try and they don't know that you need to lure the dogs and all that
>All they know is that when they enter the fog gate, the arena is small as fuck and they get killed really fast before having the chance to look around
sounds to me like you're retarded and just stood still until your stamina broke
literally just kill the dogs and it's piss easy from there
you can pretend you're not bad at video games all you want but you know it's true
>not stacking big poise 4 big boys
Rolls are shit
Why do people think dark spuls has 'deep' combat? Because you die in one hit?
It's literally skyrim team. All you do is hug the nuts of a boss and spam attacks then roll with invincibility frames.
you dont even need to stack poise, you can do it at SL1
...
>Run to the stair
>Kill dogs
>Snipe the fuck out of it's shitty AI with your bow
GG, the fight is still shit tho.
>we live in an age where a video game boss attempting to kill your character is some kind of injustice
for pikachu and snorlax i had did that sure, this boss is only hard if you are a mental midget
It's literally the only game they've ever died in, so that translates to depth for htem
>43rd post best post
>It's a guy who sucks at the game but insists it's totally not difficult just bullshit episode
Nah, I've been playing games long enough that I can piece basic shit like this together.
Blighttown is where I started sucking major ass. After getting good, it's kind of funny because it's one of the easier areas.
>Keep decent shield up / actually have armor on
>Survive long enough to figure shit out
>Get it next run if you fucked up the first time
There is literally nothing wrong with failing the first time you try something. The only problem is if you don't learn anything from it and make the same mistakes the next time.
LOL
I'm pretty shit at bloodbourne and other souls games but I immediately used the stairs in this fight without looking up strats
I even farm blood vials in bloodbourne but this boss just wasn't that hard
Casuals don't play hard games.
That's why Souls marketing campaign is such a success.
They think that they're being so hardcore and earning so much gamer cred by playing Souls games when they are as hard as your average Zelda game.
Yeah, you're right, that fight isn't fair at all, its one of the most one-sided boss fights I've ever played, kill both dogs, and you've won the fight, Capra Demon literally can't do shit on his own.
dsp had drake sword
how many of you had it?
run up the stairs, the dogs will run up after you
kill dogs
jump down and fight capra before he comes up and ganks you
>he's never played zelda
zelda combat is much, much easier
By that point you've already got access to the blacksmith and there is a merchant selling pine resin like two feet away - there is no good reason not to one hit the dogs and fuck Capra up on your own time. His only attack that can get through a heater shield is the jump, and that just happens to be the easiest shit to see coming.
>as hard as your average Zelda game
not true i went back and played wind waker after playing souls a whole bunch and i basically did the whole thing hammered and didnt die once. you cant do that in souls.
Fuck off Soulsnigger. Not everyone has time for throwing themselves at a boss 50 times. Some of us have lives! Jobs! Ever think of that you autistic fuck!
You have, like, 5 whole seconds before they attack you. Git gud.
I bet you're one of those people who randomly stop in the middle of sidewalks
If you roll towards the stairs the dogs run straight into you.
The camera fucks up you more than the boss or the doggos.
>tfw outskilled by Anor Londo archers even after 100's of hours in the game
There's just so much that can happen to ruin your day.
I beat this boss on the first try, don't know why the fuck you're so whiney about it when there's worse bosses.
...
Boss is easy, but OP is objectively right. Souls isn't "tough but fair". It's a game that throws so much bull shit at you that the devs says "oops there's too much bullshit here's some free i-frames to abuse" so the game is just bullshit enemies with high damage or numbers vs a bullshit player with either high damage or rolling around at the speed of sound, and it's boring.
>as your average Zelda game
You don't play many Zelda games.
>thinking fallout 4 is a better game
That's the cheese strat.
Ever try beating this boss not using the stairs?
>fuck this gay city
Hah
Why would the stairs be there leading no where though if you're not supposed to use them
He said a better game.
>tough but fair ;^)))
Is it gay if it's a feminine penis?
>Not jumping off the elevator to the boss fight the first time to skip that battle
Paarl is a joke boss. It's so unbelievably easy to stagger and you can immediately stagger it out of the stagger. charge r2 with ludwigs repeat.
You can dodge, block, or actually invest in your health and defense and take hits quite well, actually. Unless you are forcing some dumb challenge or handy cap, or straight up ignoring shit the game really isn't that bad.
Yes. It's honestly not that much harder. The stairs just force the dogs into a straight line so you can't fucking miss them. If you don't use the stairs all you have to do is actually aim for the fuckers.
>Tough but fair!
Nobody should ever die against a black knight after figuring out how easy it is to circle around and backstab.
>You can dodge, block, or actually invest in your health and defense
If you're a retard that wants to waste time. There's no reason to not run around naked and put all your stats into str/dex unless you're a fashionfag.
>didn't fight it when I supposed to because I didn't have the insight to know that I should let the super easy bagman kill me to access a new area
>ended up bumping into it after Rom
It was kinda sad, to be honest.
>walk in fog
>See left dog
>Kill left dog
>avoid demon
>Kill other dog
>Kill capra
Done, there was dodge rolling that took place somewhere in that green text but yeah. EZ PZ
Then don't do that shit and bitch about getting one shot?
When did I complain about getting one shotted you autistic soul sucker? My point is that the game design is shit.
Did you even pay attention to the post I was replying to? "high damage numbers" aren't an issue if you actually invest in defense. It's not a difficult concept.
It's still an issue because you're wasting stat points in an attempt to survive 2 hits instead of 1 when you could just press the B button and not get hit at all.
>there are people who legitimately think Souls games are difficult
If you aren't getting hit at all then why the fuck is enemy damage even a factor worth bringing up in the first place?
Because it's shit game design to build your game around easily abused i-frames instead of making proper hotboxes or reasonable damage output.
But the damage output IS reasonable if you actually get some fucking health and defense.
>Titanfall requires no thought
post your slidehop gameplay m8
>omg capra demon "boss" is so hard what do guys?
now try getting to this point and beating it with just a bow, no shield, no melee weapon.
this is what it means to get gud.
Not if not getting hit at all is an option. See kiddo, simple rationalization would tell you that if you could not get hit at all, why waste time improving your ability to take hits? It's not logical to upgrade a stat that's only useful when you a moderate amount of time into it when you could just not get hit from the start of the game.
The only true casual filter is me.
Good ol days.
That is exactly what I did the first time that I played Dark souls, I used bow all the fucking time, capra demon wasn't really a problem once you kill the dogs, the AI don't know what to do and you can snipe it till it dies, from the stairs, it feelt like a cheap way to win but yet again I cheesed that dragon in the bridge by sniping it's tail for 10 minutes so I don't feel guilty.
But not getting hit is an option in every game. There is no reason to single Souls out for this shit.
Not getting hit in other games is usually a challenge and doesn't have enemies that give you a phone call to warn you about their attack before they even begin sending you a telegraph about it.
Okay, sure. What are some games where not getting hit is a challenge if it's so unbelievably easy in Souls? Arcade games where not getting hit is literally your only option?
bad positioning.
