People are impatient for Project Sonic 2017 and Sonic Mania news, but I have some news that you guys don't know of yet, and it's going to be available on all platforms, including the Switch.

Well that would be nice and all but I would have preferred them spending the time on an actual SA and SA2 remaster.

Not just for nostalgia sake, oh no I'm not one those sort. More so the time spent removing what was shit, refining what was good and adding things from future games so they can finally learn how to do a game with multiple playstyles at base.

No info on that, but I doubt it since SEGA could make more money selling them on one disc/cartridge. They might have them separately via digital purchases.

Due to it's known reputation online, I'm guessing SEGA has decided to skip 06. I was told that "they cannot find the 06 builds they once had", but I'm going to take a wild guess that SEGA disposed of their 06 build after it was a commercial failure and a stain on the Sonic brand.

That's actually sad, because i discovered that behind bugs and long loading times, it actually has somewhat deep and good story, decent gameplay too, only thing that sucks is that you can only play it on x360 which few years ago, i had but i actually broke the disc apart from how annoyed i was with bugs and loading times, im not kidding lol... wish i could give it another shot

I had the PS3 version since my 360 red ringed before I could get 06. I would say you had it better than I did, as the PS3 versions was slightly worse in a way. Big slow downs and no trophies as reward for beating it.

I think Sonic team might see potentiol in PC market, the only reason why we havent seen any recent sonic games on pc is due Nintendo exclusivity deals. The wiiu was very underpowered system to develop and games like Sonic boom imho could been better if developed on better hardware. Hell developers we're also not happy when they were originally producing the game on PC and next gen consoles and then they got fucked over when were forced to port it to SHit tier underpowered Wiiu , a game that was running cryengine

PC isn't nearly as profitable as consoles, though. Lost world sold just over 100K units on PC, and that's with an MSRP of 30 dollars. Most games sell better with steep discounts on PC. so most of those sales probably came at 5-10 dollars a pop, making PC revenue a mere fraction of console revenue. When dead consoles like the Wii U and Vita beat PC, something is seriously wrong.

Well understandably, since that's the subject at hand, but Sega's other games, like Yakuza or PD, won't ever come to PC simply because they don't want to put them on PC. I think Daytona 3 is a straight PS4 exclusive as well, besides being a port of an arcade game.

I understand not supporting a platform that doesn't make money. But I don't understand actions like those when they come out and say "oh, PC gaming is so profitable" and "we are going to port many more games in the future".

Sega used M2 on their Japan only PS2 Sega Ages set, some PS360 sets, Wii & 3DS VC and 3DS 3D Classics but never in a collection pack.

And what copyright reasons does Knuckle's Chaotix have to deal with? If it's a emulation issue then just pull a Sonic CD and redo the whole game from scratch, this time with Sonic & Tails as playable characters.

i just want to say that lost world was an awful game that only looked good. what the fuck did you even expect, people to buy it for 60 dollars? it is a bad game with uninteresting level design that takes control away from the player for 10 second periods every 20 seconds. i guarantee it did bad on the other systems too not just pc.

sega cares about pc more than every single other japanese company, prove me fucking wrong. the only two ports i have problem with their support are those two games (sonic adventure and sonic heroes) and im not interested in yakuza (beat em up) or project diva (another repetition game). all their best ips died in 2000 and wouldn't you know it, they ported most of them to pc. their nights into dreams port is amazing

That would mean more money and development time. Money and development time dedicated to a game most people never heard of/played and at the end of the day, wasn't even that good. Those resources would be better off either making a new game or improving another title.

Capcom and Bamco both care about PC more than Sega. Capcom is literally the only Japanese publisher whose PC ports actually take advantage of PC, with high framerate support, arbitrary resolutions, keyboard/mouse controls, and miscellaneous hacks. Bamco is currently on the 'PC will get games at the same time as consoles' phase. Just because you don't like Yakuza or PD shouldn't excuse them from being absent from PC if "they care about PC" as much as you think they do.

With this gen it's PC first, then it's dumb down to PS4 due to weaker hardware but still with a standered PC layout then XBONE due to it's ESRam, it helps to know the limits ahead of time to save time and money.

I don't know much about the technical aspects of these ports. Sonic Adventure is the exact same I believe, Heroes however was programmed to work properly on Windows 7, 8 and 10 with true wide screen support.

That's why Yakuza Zero isn't on PC, huh? Or what about Project Diva? You might not like them, but those are two of Sega's more prolific games. What about games like Azure Revolution, which was made possible thanks to the revived interest in VC due to the PC port, yet it isn't coming to PC? The Sonic/Shadow levels were the only good parts of SA2. The Hunting/Shooting levels were absolute shit.

Modern Sonic was the only good part of Generations because Classic played like shit and the challenge gates were awful.

please explain this meme, it seems to be popular opinion. how did classic sonic play like shit but modern didn't? it was just boostfaggotry with polar opposite magnetic walls keeping you from moving too far one way or the other. boy it sure is a lot of fun to press and hold x until you very occasionally hit an obstacle that you tap a trigger and move wow. the only good part about the modern version was the sidescroller sections which the classic gameplay did better as it didn't have near as much awful camera. the worst thing about generations is the fact that you cant progress without playing the modern sections in my opinion, you cant even move onto the next level in a 3 level world without beating the first level twice in a different perspective. and that makes sense as a gameplay perspective but still i hated it

That teaser video with the dancing hedgehogs, that has to do with Sonic Mania and not this, and that's going to be revealed in March. This collection is being revealed before E3 along side the Project Sonic 2017 story and gameplay trailer.

The release date is confirmed to be July 21st for all platforms. Most of the porting is finished, with the only game left working in progress is the Sonic Colors HD port. I've only seen a snippet of it and it looks amazing, even on the Switch.

it was nothing like sonic 4, sure the physics aren't as robust as the genesis games but they feel very solid and there is actually momentum. to top it off the reimagined level designs are better than the originals. it is still very fun to play unlike "racing game with no other racers and you hop over a rock occasionally"
