just turn your brain off

more important question: Is KH3 gonna have non-cinematic models with the painted on mouths

in kh1 he didn't know anything, in com he lost his memories when entering castle oblivion, in kh2 he lost those abilities when he woke up, in ddd yen sid transforms him into his kh1 form with no powers to take the mark of mastery fairly, what's it gonna be this time

Drive forms have been revealed in a behind closed doors panel.

they already say why in 0.2 i think.

who the fuck cares, can someone answer this?

Probably play as Kairi for the first part. Won't have to do any depowering bullshit then.

gonna be weird to play a kh with actual graphical improvements

...

>what's it gonna be this time
When Xenohart basically mindraped him in DDD, he lost all of his abilities - last cutscene of 2.8

He was semi possessed by Xehanort. When he recovered he lost all his abilities. Literally says it in the end cutscene of DDD

The bullshit the council of Xeanorts pulled in DDD fucked him all up.

He already did you retard, play 0.2.

Xehanort stripped him of all his powers while he was possessed by darkness or whatever.

This

gee maybe if you watched the ending to 0.2 then you would know, you stupid fuck. another ffxv cuck trying to be cool by starting dumb threads again.

nomura stated that in the beginning you'll get to play as either young eraqus or young xehanort then on to sora.

2.8 did. Their mouths just move up and down with no lip syncing sometimes.

So that means Kairi is already STRONGER than Sora. Remember Sora also forgot everything he knew to take Yen Sid's stupid test.

Isn't he going to Olympus Colluseum first to regain some of his unholy power?

I for one, welcome our tutorial overlords.

Axel and Kairi will be the Team Rocket of KH3

They'll show up to beat the villains of a world and job for comic effect

No it doesn't. Sora didn't forget shit. Yensid's magic reverted them to their younger versions before the fall of destiny islands. Yensid's mark of mastery was so sora and riku could obtain a certain power. the whole point of the mark of mastery is to test one's heart, if you cannot control the darkness in your heart then you fail. it's that simple.

>Omg why is sora level 1 in KH3
because it's a video game you faggots

Are you retarded? The mouth dubs aren't going to be perfect. It was animated for jap tongue.

Id be ok with this

we're hoping we get to the chance to fight the full titan roster. we only got to fight the rock and ice titan in kh1 sadly.

that is stupid and wont happen.

So... Team Redheads?

No he's going to Olympus to regain all of it plus new shit. He'll be overpowered before he walks out of the first world

Something something memories

>Sora already has his excuse
>Donald and Goofy don't
>tfw KH3 will start with them using high-tier spells and special attacks that one-shot enemies while Sora is stuck with basic combos that do chip damage

Sora will go to Olympus, gain his own set of armor, gain extra light powers, ability to tri-wield keyblades, quad wield in a different form, and have a crown on all the time.

They did already, senpai.

They already gave it in 0.2
Sora getting almost posessed by Xehanort somehow took away all his powers

>gain his own set of armor
I didn't know I wanted this.

He remembered his best friend Bruce was a ghost and it spooked him so much he forgot how to do all the kingdom hearts.

1.Why does it matter?
2.Already did explain. Dude lost his skills during 3d, but since he failed the MoM test he was unable to fully use his new powers.

KH has always been animated with english as the main language, probably because disney is a burger company

im trying to fight julius with riku, and jesus christ is this guy hard. my only problem with this game, is when you block and then counterattack, you should be able to block immidately after. say i have 1 health left, i block julius's punches, and if i counterattack too early, i'll get hit and die.

No probably not. Sora lost MOST but not all his power.

We'll start the game about to do some cool shit fairly quickly since the demo of Olympus (first world) already has shot locks and shit.

Not to mention that he warps to traverse town as soon as DDD ends
Why do they need gummi ships if they can just do that?

Traverse Town is a special world in that it appears when someone needs a place to be (hence the Hollow Bastion crew and Sora ending up there after their worlds were consumed by darkness). You can't travel to other worlds like you can to Traverse Town.

i beat him. i only needed another curaga. that was fun as fuck.

That and considering the appearance of his Dream Eaters, doesn't that mean he went back into the Realm of Sleep for a bit?

Or that the dream eaters needed a place to go after their worlds had been awakened so they ended up in Traverse Town

ReCoM didn't bother with it.
youtube.com/watch?v=1cSfptYKPhw

Then how come Terra sent Ventus from Land of Departure straight to Destiny islands with a portal in BBS?

In DDD if i go from pourd mode to critical mode in new game+, what carries over? just spirits?

yeah they all start at level 1

thats it? no items or keyblades? sounds lame. Also whats the fastest way to raise affinity. This grinding bullshit is excessive even for a KH game

Your Spirits, Recipes, and your Trophies (In your Reports) all get carried over into the New Game Plus.

no items, you can just buy them again, and keyblades are special weapons that have always been acquired by special means.

fastest way to raise affinity i think is to max out affinity special from drop, then do the mini game, exit out of the mini game, and they will still get the affinity boost

Just spam Balloonga

load up on baloonras and curagas bro.

>yen sid transforms him into his kh1 form with no powers to take the mark of mastery fairly

>it's unfair that you got god-tier with the keyblade and magic through your perilous adventures

He lost his powers to the darkness literally, it happened when they were trying to turn him into a xenahort

Yet Yen Sid lets Riku become master and not Sora due to "falling for the bad guy's trap"

I can understand if not giving Sora the title was due to losing a huge chunk of his powers, but noooooooo

I just realized that the opening shot of this trailer is Sora in the world of darkness picking up Aqua's keyblade

It wasn't necessarily so it would be "fair". Yen Sid's justification was basically that they weren't taught under a Master.

He failed to Master the new power. He says it in the 0.2 epilogue.

His friendship wasn't strong enough and darkness went it his heart but the light fought back and in a huge fight it caused a badly effect and he lost his powers as a result

its Eraqus'

i just used my normal command deck and added another curaga. i fought him normally and beat him. it was a good battle. i used firaga, blizagga and meteor crash.

This, he'll clearly be a master after we finish Olympus

So, you have come this far and still you understand nothing. Every light must fade, every heart return to DARKNESS!!!

Even if it didn't make sense or fit, it'd be cool if Billy Zane voiced Xehanort in KHIII.

ill always wonder why he dropped off the face of the earth.
he was perfect.

...

Somehow that just strikes me as bullshit

He could kick your ass, Sid, stop being a dick. Sora's power and battle style might be informal but I don't see anything that makes it worse or less efficient than a formal master training.

Also, didn't he get Roxas' training in his head when they merged back in KH2?

>want to buy 1.5+2.5 and play the games again
>remember ice cream minigame

He was blacklisted in the industry. I think for doing middle eastern movies or something? Take this with a grain of salt though.

i dont think he got anything other than dual weilding

>Somehow that just strikes me as bullshit
Sorry user that's literally what he said:
>"We must be ready. Which is why you, Sora and Riku, are to be tested for the mark of a true Keyblade Master. No doubt you fancy yourselves masters already, but it takes years of training. Only a true master can teach you the proper way. Both of you are self-taught Keyblade wielders- an impressive feat. However, the time has come for you to let go of preconceived notions, forget what you know about the Keyblade, and begin your training again with a clean slate."

Critical Mode sucks in most KH games. But why is this? Here's an in-depth breakdown of this opinion.

In the Critical Mode of most games, here are the changes in a nutshell:
-The damage dealt by the player to enemies is halved.
-The damage dealt by enemies to the player is doubled.

Now, let's look at why this is a s*** way of artificially "increasing" difficulty without actually making the game any harder. Because let's face it, this isn't actually any harder than Proud Mode really.

In the games that use this Critical system, all Critical Mode does is make fights take longer. The player really isn't taking any more damage than they would be in Proud, meaning they can make the same number of mistakes before dying, but due to their own damage being halved, fights take twice as long. This leads to the player having to essentially just WAIT longer to beat a boss, because in reality they're just going through the same motions as in any other difficulty. This is where the fundamental problem lies: Waiting isn't hard. But it creates the illusion of difficulty due to it requiring a larger time investment than normal from the player, and if sometime takes a long time than obviously it must be difficult. This is especially noticeable in the games that feature the Command Deck, because since your damage in those games is essentially tied to ability cooldowns, it just means you have to wait through twice as many cooldowns as on other difficulties.

Looking back at FM2, (the only game that does Crit right IMO), Critical does the exact opposite. Instead of slowing down the gameplay, it instead speeds it up. Sora has half health, but as compensation has a 25% increase to his own damage output and can equip more abilities to kill things even faster, leading to a situation where both enemies and Sora die faster, therefore making player mistakes twice as punishing, but further rewarding good play by increasing the return on the player's investments.

I'm guessing this is pasta.

What's the point of bringing back the Hercules world? The whole movie has been pretty much covered and Hades was disposed of in 2 just like in the respective movie.

justpushstart.com/2017/01/kingdom-hearts-0-2-update-patch-1-02-notes-released/

0.2 makes Critical Mode a lot bearable though.

>Critical Mode adjustments (increased the amount of damage dealt to enemies)

No, I meant that it sounds bullshit that they absolutely needed to start from scratch and do it the "proper" way to become masters.

I mean, c'mon, what has any keyblade master ever shown that is more impressive or commendable than what Sora and Riku already did?

don't make it wrong

So I just finished DDD again and this story is even stupider than I remember. KH1 and 2 basically don't even matter anymore. It completely trivializes the entire plight of the nobodies, and every character in the series who died is now back? Literally the only thing from 1, 2, and Days that even matters is Riku's development, everything else was undone. And Sora STILL has no character development, if they're gonna undo everything that happened they can at least move forward in some way.

Also I feel like they originally were gonna actually make Sora a vessel but pussied out. That would've totally threw this game on its head thematically.

Oh I see. I agree.
Considering how BH6 is getting an original story set after the movie, the might, and key word is MIGHT, give it an original story too.
Didn't say it was. It just seemed completely unprompted.

No where near as awful as Gummi ship, dream eater pet or fruit volleyball

Reminder that Luxu is Goat and MoM is Lion

In KH2, the extra abilities serve to increase your options relative to the base game (most importantly with a third Finisher Plus). The game is fairly consistent in that the player can avoid anything so long as they know what they're doing, and can do so in a variety of ways. Sora's moveset has a good deal of true variety and very few options are completely useless. Having somewhat high damage floors against enemies means not only does Lv 1 work great, but in a normal Crit run you never have to waste time grinding to overcome something. Applying caps to ATTACK-DEF instead of at the end of the formula means not messing with the relative power of attacks endgame. Conversely, the 1 damage min, on top of FM2 rounding up at the end of the formula and the 25% power boost, means rapidly hitting Limits (Duckflare, Tron's, Skellington's) don't really care about the damage floor and will deal consistently high damage regardless of level while getting a nice boost on Crit (screwing over enemies with lower health totals).

Contrast the handhelds, where moveset balance is s***, most of your attacks are useless, there's tons of crappy nukes, and Shotlocks, Surges and Mines/Balloon ruins everything (so every fight ends up really samey). Bosses don't stagger consistently at all and break out at their leisure assuming your keyblade attack didn't whiff in the first place. Dodging comes down to mashing, so there's not much to learn in actual attack patterns. Whereas Lingering Will is a very calculated back and forth and allows a variety of offensive options, MF is mash square like an idiot then Surge after he attacks. Lack of damage floors mean low level becomes a ridiculous grind just a bit into the game, while the universal 25 damage cap means multi hit attacks rule endgame with an iron fist. Instead of providing a visceral, fast paced feeling like FM2 you're just mashing square and healing a bit longer. Damage doesn't even matter with OM/SC/LB as Glave noted.

>series who died is now back
That's because what happened to those characters wasn't actual death. Death is something different in KH than losing your heart or being stuck in the Realm of Darkness, It's in the reports. But to get to your basic point, yes 3D did kind of make the point that everyone is coming back.

noted.

user, I don't care.
Really, I don't.

Dream Sora lost his powers because he got caught up in the process of turning into Xehanort. Same old anime song and dance of "you're luck you survived." He goes to Mount Olympus to meet a hero that regained his powers. Yen Sid doesn't outright say it's Hercules, so perhaps it could Cloud, or Zack, or Noctis?

The opening for A Fragmentary Passage is also deceiving, for it isn't Sora that rescues Aqua. Aqua helped Mickey find the Kingdom Key D so that the door to the world of Darkness could be closed. When Aqua volunteers to close it from the side of the Realm of Darkness since she is already there, but Mickey tells her that's Riku's job. On their way to the door, a big Heartless storm heads towards an unsuspecting Riku, and Aqua distracts it and teleports herself to the part of Destiny Islands that was swallowed by Darkness to fight it. This was kept from Riku and Sora so that they would not try to do anything reckless, and thus Riku is the one that'll bring back Aqua, along with Mickey.

I have to wonder: Is this gonna be some Sanic type shit where literally every member of the "Seven Lights" will be playable?

his nobody became a somebody and took all his abilities then split them up into different dream eaters which were then consumed by Heartless then captured by the organization so he has to fight various forms of Xehanort to get all his abilities back

All these have a work around, ice cream shit demands you absolutely master it.

NOMURAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Listen, the reason Critical sucks in most of the KH games is because the battle system is inherently flawed in most of the games that have Critical. Like terrible damage floors, and terrible damage caps. Your ability to dodge attacks isn't 100%

By this I mean, you can totally 100% avoid getting hit throughout the entire KH2FM if you are skilled enough. But of you ever went a whole play through in BBS without getting hit, it wouldn't be because you were skilled. It would be because you were lucky.

There are bosses that will attack you in BBS mid combo, and you don't notice in the normal modes because it doesn't matter, you have health to spare. One that comes to mind is Hook, for ventus. You can't even do a 3 hit combo, the basic, without the chance of being interrupted. It's random.
This is solved by something called Revenge Value.

What series has been fucked over the hardest, and why is it KH?

>The main hero is the destined one
Nah, not really. The emo faggot was. Sora just happened to be nearby.
>Wow, Sora is really strong (as he should be). Let's knock him down every single game and completely fail to justify it in any way.
Fuck development. That's for chumps.
>Hmm. You know what I always thought our game was missing? Storylines even more messy and confusing that Metal Gear Solid.
Writing is also for chumps.
>The fans have been waiting for KH3 for so long. What should be do?
Release remasters of every KH game ever in varying forms with slightly new things in each one.

>you must unlearn all the backwards shit you know so we can teach you properly

like firing a rifle

>the way you hover in the air and spin 2 keyblades around your body with fucking telekinesis is wrong. None of us can do it, but it's wrong.

Listen man, if some guy isn't using proper techniques while firing his rifle, but he can snipe the head off a match from 1000 yards, you let him do his thing.

>Backwards shit

Fucking explain how what Sora and Riku were doing was any different if not better than anything Aqua pulled off

Besides, they beat the shit out of Xehanort's heartless, his nobody, and depending on wether or not you consider it canon, Terra's lingering Will, which had beaten the shit out of terranort. Xehanort was a keyblade master.

So Sora could already beat the shit out of a master and did more for the collective worlds than Yen did sitting in his tower

Fucking explain how it was in any way justified. If anything it should have been "your power is great and your skill is commendable, let's just refine it further"

I'm starting to think Yen Sid just hates Sora.

By being true masters, they gain new powers, dummy. It still hasn't anything to do about what they did.

Why is it that killing a person's heartless and their Nobody magically brings the original person back to life? What kind of shit is that, can xehanort even be killed then or will he keep reviving?

It's basically bringing the Heart and Body back together. And if you don't do it in the right order, it's pretty much gonna not work the way that you want. The person's pretty much gonna be in a limbo like state.

did you even fucking pay attention to anything?

Nobody is the body. the heartless is the heart. defeatting both will bring back the original heart and body.
