After DQ and FF it's the most popular JRPG series. SMT/Persona may havetaken its place, and if you xount Pokemon it loses tl it too but it'sstill big.

Entire cast is likeable, story's good, combat is kind of stun/status-heavy but still fun
Only really gripe I'd have is that dungeon design is pretty lackluster- no real puzzles to speak of, just lots of monsters and the occasional gate to open

Kinda stopped following Tales games after Xillia, but if this is the case I'll dig into Berseria then.
VsXIII would have, but XV is a piece of shit.
It's not actually good, even mediocrity feels good coming off Zestiria. Once the honeymoon phase ends people will be more honest.
Berseria is slightly better than Zestiria but it's still huge dogshit compared to Vesperia or Graces F in terms of gameplay.
I'd put it above Symphonia but below Abyss, though it would depend on what you like in terms of a story and characters. Plus I still prefer the old ways of doing things where it's normal attacks into artes, but that's just me.
