There are none

Planescape Torment

will Numenera be good?

...

Absolutely not.

ADHD: the post

why not?

Are their any good text RPG's ?

>muh story
>muh narrative

Watch a movie if you want cinematic experiences

Dark Souls

oh i get it now you're a retard

Says the guy that enjoys movie games instead of valuing gameplay

Gameplay could do anything a cutscene could do, including telling a story, except better

nah, i'll do what i want you fucking faggot. what type of games do you like? jrpg's?

No, all rpg's are garbage

Metroid games (except other M, a game that is shit and that Sup Forums by no coincidence loves) and Armored Core are probably my favorite.

>all rpg's are garbage

They are, they're all cutscene infested cinematic experiences

>dark souls
>crpg
fucking what?

I don't know but Fallout and Baldur's Gate are a lot of fun.

That begs the question on why you decided to post ITT.

In no particular order:

Jagged Alliance 2
Icewind Dale
Wizardry 8
Baldur's Gate
Gothic 1

An honourable mention goes to Darklands, which unfortunately has aged quite poorly.

Neverwinter Nights 1/2 had pretty good editors that would let you write and play your own stories with friends. Which is, pretty much, what a RPG should let you do.

That is, for me, the bare minimum, and games that don't include such feature can't be RPGs, let alone good ones. That includes Planescape: Torment, Deus Ex, Fallout, The Witcher, and probably many others I haven't played.

I'm not saying they are bad games. They can be good campaigns. But they are not role playing games. You don't get a ruleset to create your own campaigns and roleplay.

I don't understand how we have regressed so much. If someone took NWN in 2002 and asked, "how do you think cRPGs will be in 15 years?", I wouldn't have said "much more limited, but with better graphics", but rather "the creation tools would be much more powerful and easy to use".

Dude the tabletop scene is as strong as ever, if not stronger than ever because of online games. What you post is true but nobody really plays these games for roleplaying, come now.
