Coming to PC

>coming to PC
>reveal probably pre-E3 since the game is popular enough to not need to piggyback E3

How do you revolutionize the formula so Destiny 2 doesn't flop without content or interest after 2 weeks? Planets have quests hubs on them, rather than the Tower? Much bigger zones and actual player interaction/persistence on planets?

Make a good game instead of a weird CoD and WoW hybrid.

It'll actually be popular as fuck on PC and Bungie will become a PC studio, screencap this

Wasn't Destiny 1 supposed to be supported with like a decade of content?

I rented it once and was hugely disappointed. Even Halo, the most casual shit possible, had more creativity than dozens of "Defend against the horde while I hack this door!" segments.

I really don't give a fuck, the first was so fucking profoundly disappointing until like $60 worth of addon content, and fuck that) that I won't give Bungie the time of day no matter what they do.

Make it a primarily single player game with a decent story and make a decent multiplayer mode

I thought the first Destiny was going to be released for PC at some point but they seem to have gave up on that

>Be famous as a Mac studio
>port some stuff to PC
>Microsoft enslaves you and makes you pump out sequels and spinoffs for Xbox
>break free
>go to fucking Activision
>make a console exclusive
Weird. I wonder how many original Bungie devs there are working still.

No, the franchise.

The worst part of this announcement is all the time it's going to eat up at every fucking press conference for the next couple years.

>years
Well its coming out this year. The DLC has only gotten trailers here and there, not much time at all.
They probably realized its going to be overhauled anyways, and nothing is carrying over, so there is no point.

Destiny 1's biggest fault is outside of expansions there was no reason to play for longer than a week. Expansion comes out, you do all the content within 2 weeks and you only grind raids on alts or do PVP till you get bored.

Strike/dungeon level and boss design was piss poor outside of a few ones. Shield Bros is a pretty good boss fight, atleast the idea. Execution was pretty bad just because they didn't have enough moves. In WoW grinding dungeons was fine because they had multiple bosses in each dungeon, rather than a dungeon having 1 boss

Destiny 2 needs to have 2-3 bosses per strike, and each boss has their own loot table. It took until Taken King for strike bosses to drop unique gear for the classes.

Isn't this basically sci fi Borderlands?

By hiring back the original Bungie writers and Han Zimmer and firing all the hacks that made Destiny

>coming to PC
When did Bungie say that?

>mfw all the fucking faggots whining at the likelihood of Destiny 2 being on PC

I just don't understand this mentality. Are they upset that they have to share their ball with others? They constantly say that the game will be filled with cheaters and mods out of the ass to the point where I don't think any of them have actually played PC games and their opinion is all based on hearsay

It'll be dead in a month on PC. PCucks hate DLC and the always online deters the pirate crowd. I would like it to succeed, but let's be real user, it's a console game. Hopeful it doesn't die fast, but unlikely. Can't wait to play it though.

Would have gladly bought Destiny if it were on PC.

I do like me some space guns.

Even The Division is still alive on PC, and there's plenty of people playing the DLC.

And yet somehow Destiny still sold a shit ton and had a very active playerbase

most are gone. halo 1 designer said the current state of halo is disgusting thanks to microsoft's greed.

Hmmm. wonder if I should get it on console or PC then...

PC is the #1 platform for ripping people off with DLC. Although you have to keep the ripping off to down low. Like Paradox level at worst. If you rip off like some of the publishers by selling skins for 5-10 dollar it will probably get backlash.

I forgot that existed. Didn't it end up flopping because console players were expecting Cawadoody in space, and instead they got a ProgressQuest MMO that was sorta FPS where you run the same tiny handful of maps hundreds of times just to improve things like your Grenade by ~.5% which did nothing besides let you farm for moar upgrades ~.5% faster?

I'd love to play Destiny on PC but all my friends are slaves to Xbox. Sucks.

Destiny is the most boring piece of trash I've ever played. PC anons don't bother being suckered into this. Literally wasted my money.

>10 YEARS

No, it sold like 20 million copies and maintains a huge playbase even now after two years and massive content droughts.

Will it have a single player campaign this time?

The game would be thriving on PC. Just look at GTA5. Having an online community and reasons to come back is all Destiny 2 needs to have.

> Although some of the folks behind Destiny 2 might crave more time to add content and beef up the game, here’s an interesting bit of news to consider: If Bungie misses this year for Destiny 2, Activision is awarded a hefty chunk of the independent studio’s stock, according to two sources familiar with goings-on at Bungie.

>Bungie employees’ stock vesting schedule is also based on game releases, including Destiny 2, which gives them major incentives to get the sequel out this year.

oh my fucking god, so destiny 2 is going to be as rushed and unfinished as destiny 1.

cheers activision and bungie!

destiny has 2 problems. 1 is that warframe exist and the other is that even though its free to play they have regular content updates

destiny is buy to play and star wars the old republic showed the failure of a big studio to produce regular content updates

i know what your saying but warframe is old. they rework graphical content some times. they redid optimizations and old content mostly on earth is set to be replaced. another texture update and with the current volumetric lighting, hdr, and contrast adjustment + ambient occlusion it will probbaly look as good as destiny 2 which wont see new content for probably 6 months then never again since most of the destiny players went to overwatch

It depends how much of a fuck Activision gives. Infinite Warfare flopped badly on PC and they don't have the greatest track record for being PC-friendly outside of Blizzard shit. Although they did eventually follow through on their promise to add mod support to Blops 3.

it's like Halo 2 all over again

It was supposed to come out in 2016, they already delayed it a whole year. They had to pull an expansion out of their ass in six months because of this.

>Bungie misses this year for Destiny 2, Activision is awarded a hefty chunk of the independent studio’s stock
oh jesus fuck, not this shit again
god damn publishers ruining everything to rape studios

343 Industries does Halo now nerd

And they managed to destroy it on contact

>microtransactions
>removed split-screen and LAN functionality
>cosmetic shit out of the ass
>focusing on the MLG PRO and e-sport players

No, most are still there. The only high profile departures were their old community manager and Marty. I don't even know why you are bringing up Halo, they haven't touched the series since Reach.

>>removed split-screen
the greatest sin

>coming to PC
it has no chance against Warframe

Of course they did, they're owned by MS

Hardy LeBel, Joseph Staten, Marty, and Max Hobberman? No. Bungie isn't what it used to be.

It's more so the fact that PC has arguably the worst player base out of any platform thanks to their raging superiority complex and people would like to keep them out.

If it wasn't such a horrific grind, sure. I seriously want to like Warframe, but its the worst F2P grind I've ever experienced.

They you gonna hate Destiny even more

No I don't, I've been playing it since it launched. Warframe is 500 times worse than Destiny ever was grind wise.

So what the hell did you do in Destiny since launch if not grinding?

not that guy, but having fun?

you don't have to play the same game 24/7 nonstop without end

I just want more content and more variety along with some real form of the story. They definitely need more than just a few raids.

The gameplay was so damn smooth that it was a pleasure to play. Just not enough stuff to actually do.

Played since the beta. Still do.

Ask me anything.

How upset were you when they decided not to make any more gunsmith weapons for ROI?

Are you Korean?

Out of all of those only Marty is what I would call high profile, and his partner who had an equal hand in composing everything they did for Bungie is still working there.

Not him but this was inexcusable. I need a Suros shotgun in my life.

I was mildly upset, only because I've gotten every damn roll from the Smiths guns already.
White male living in the USA

Do you Sherpa or just circlejerk with your buddies?

Reminds me of the crazy pressure to get Halo 2 out the door all those years ago. Didn't they basically re-write the game from scratch a year from release?

whats the point of playing when the game is so fucking repetitive, i stopped when the first dlc came out

You stopped right before the game started massively improving.

It will work well on PC, but they need to add more content it feels like a watered down MMO

Fire the entire dev team and hire the team that did The Witcher 3. It's amazing what slavs can do with an engine given only 1 gallon of vodka and a potato to code on.

Isn't the whole point of MMOs to last for a while? Why is D2 coming out so soon? 3 years is an awfully short lifespan.

Taken King is the peak of Destiny it was pretty damn good. Rise of Iron is alright no where near as good as Taken King imo.

>No suros shotguns
>no omolon autos
>no Hakke MGs or scouts
>no sidearms at all

All of my buddies have moved onto different games. I stick to Crucible and Strikes now, and almost entirely just use meme builds.

I suppose if I ever wanted to raid again, I could drum up some strangers from the Destiny general.

Witcher 2 and 3 were both big ass budget games, enough of this "slav working on a bottle of vodka" meme.

Yes, but since people took the master race meme too far, there's a lot of kids who grew up with halo shit on PC now.

Didn't Bungie leave MS in the first place because they wanted less publisher interference and control?

>oh my fucking god, so destiny 2 is going to be as rushed and unfinished as destiny 1.

I don't think Destiny was unfinished as much as there was a 180 turn in development at some point, and a lot of story was excised on purpose.

Crucible is probably the worst part of the game.

Hard Light is an Omolon gun

No legendary gunsmith ones though

>no sidearms at all
An unforgivable sin.
Sidearms need love.

Having played Destiny it was seriously lacking in content and the engine limited content delivery. I don't blame Bungie, apparently they had to do major changes to the game shortly before release due to some high up suits deciding they didn't like the story and they wanted it to be more like Call of Duty.

Yes, Bungie is almost as dumb as Respawn. As 2015, Inc. they left EA because EA was being dicks, went to Activision and became Infinity Ward and made CoD, then a bunch of people left and formed Respawn only to get fucked over by EA once again.

It's cool that it's coming to PC but if they remove the controller specific features I will be pissed.

I'm hoping that Bungie has learned from Destiny's development cycle. And Halo 2.

Its a lot more complicated than that, it wasn't suits at Activision who demanded the last minute development shift, it was Jason Jones himself. Based on all the details that have leaked, the original story/campaign actually was complete garbage and wouldn't have worked with the intended goal of the game.

coming to PC
Windows 10 exclusive
nope.jpg

Depends on the game type imo. There are whole weeks I wont play because the weekly crucible is all shit game types.

Then there are other weeks where the game type is perfect, and I pull on my tryhard panties.

>controller specific features

Like what exactly?

Is there any source that it will be coming to the PC? how reliable is neogaf?

autoaim

as long as there's still Bad Juju it's fine.

>it's a console game

>Shooter of any kind
>Console game

No and always no

Bungie has a history of missing milestones, starting from scratch, and still missing more milestones, then releasing an incomplete/rushed product. It happened with Destiny, it happened with Halo 2. Hell, probably happened with Halo: CE as well, as much as I love the final product. That these guys got an extra year to work on the game does not mean the game will be 100% finished when released. That Activision set Fall 2017 as the absolute-cant-miss deadline doesn't mean the game will be rushed either. But knowing Bungie it could go either way.

Aim assist is hard coded into the game and cannot be turned off. Some weapons have more aim assist than others and it makes the bullets have a sort of "magnetism" to a target. There's literally perks for guns that alter aim assist.

Destiny 2 could change things like that for the PC version (honestly I doubt there will be a PC version).

Hidden Hand increases the size of the critical hit box, and increases that slight "bullet magnetism", but doesn't increase the straffing/panning/aiming assist of the weapon.

At least it didn't used to.

Like how the hammer of a revolver will pull back exactly as far as you're pulling the trigger. Or how your movement speed directly matches how far you push the stick, leaving you with far more movement speeds than possible with digital input even if you use a scroll wheel. Useless stuff really, but I think they are cool details. It's nice that if you're forced to make a game on console you take full advantage of the hardware.

Are you guys fucked in the head why would I want the excessive autoaim to return?

Hey that's pretty good, I missed the Destiny train so hopefully the sequel will be good.

>to return
it's still here

>How do you revolutionize the formula so Destiny 2 doesn't flop without content or interest after 2 weeks?
Don't revolutionize anything, make it a pure mission pack sequel, and pump another five hundred million (500000000) into the market budget, not including a song by Paul McCartney and voice acting by a celebrity midget reading off a prompter

Message repeats: Activision's marketing budget for Destiny was five hundred million (500000000)

>tfw new players will never get to experience Dinklagebot

More open world. Make load screens on necessary through planet travel.
Space Battles.
In-depth class talent trees that are actually worth customizing to different builds.
Actual quests.
Actual story.
Change the end game farming system from farming the same 5 missions on repeat. That shit gets old.
Make for PC

Destiny has so much potential, but Bungie sucks so Destiny 2 will suck. It's a sad fact.

>500 million into marketing
you don't actually believe this, don't be so facetious

you know besides the fact it's a well reported fact straight from the CEO

>In-depth class talent trees that are actually worth customizing to different builds.
the game already has this

gonna go the way of titanfall2

people will not forget the bullshit pulled with the first one, and they will totally NOT BUY the second one, and serves bungie right. They are like blizzard, riding on past glory but producing shit from ages
