fuck you for pointing this out OP

a quick google search pops up at least a dozen games none of which I've ever played but I still feel like I've seen that exact achievement a hundred times

god dammit

Nice

>Out of the frying pan...

>WELCOME TO THE...
>FIRST STEPS

"First Blood!"

This.

I've never noticed this until OP just pointed it out.
Holy shit I'm straining myself to think of any game that DOESN'T have an achievement named something to that effect

>Achievement Unlocked!
>"First Steps"

how fucking new

>beginners luck

inb4
>i was le pretending x)

>Achievement Unlocked!
>"The Cake Is a Lie"

>my love for you is like a truck

>Character "jump scares" the player and recites "Welcome to the family, son"
>achievement unlocked: Welcome to the family, son

What the hell does this mean?

>trophy earned: started a new game
>70% of people who own this game earned this trophy
???

>welcome to dark souls XD

>Make this thread 10 fucking times

>Welcome!
>Played your first match in Battleborn

Don't pretend you don't have a bunch of unplayed Steam Games in your library.

is it on steam?
there's games that i never ever started even though i had them in my library for years.

I've always heard that it doesn't start tracking achievement stats until you actually run the game.

>2% of players have this achievement

Muramasa Rebirth was a mistake....

trophies are all garbage like this, almost ruined the game for me.

You're Already Fed
A Boy and His...Kitsune?
Oboro, Shmoboro!
Wow, Hida is Boar-ing!
Kerouac Has Nothing on You!
Secret Arts FTW! Literally...
Dig In, Y'all!

This is accurate. However if you pop open the cheevos for any soulsborne game, in a best case scenario (Demon's Souls), like 30% of people who played didn't beat the first boss and in a worst case (Bloodborne), around half didn't

>autism

>Get To The Chopper

>he doesn't disable trophy notifications

just disable that shit and never look back, I fucking hated it when you just survive a hard as fuck boss/level and some stupid snarky quiptastic trophy name pops up in the corner

>"BOOM, Headshot!"

>Achievement Unlocked!
>"You Died Haha"
>10 gamesman dollars
>it was a scripted cutscene
>the game is over

>big game hunter

>trophies
>steam

stop making this thread, retard

>Chapter 9: The Part Where He Kills You
>"oh great, this is the part where he kills us"
>"hello, this is the part where i kill you"
>achievement unlocked: the part where he kills you
>this is that part

Good tier:
There are none

Decent tier:
Actually risky achievement titles
Good wordplay

Boring tier:
Overused sci-fi references
In game/game series references (especially if the series is relatively new)

Shit tier:
Sarcastic titles
Meta titles
Memes
Any internet site reference

There are always exceptions.*

I liked that one...

The thing that shits me the most is when the devs were too incompetent to put the achievement triggers in the right spot.

>Hit switch
>Achievement unlocked: kill X
>Five minute cutscene plays ending with killing X, which I might not have been expecting without the achievement

I have a friend with a shit rig who will pop open games for all of 5 minutes each to test whether he can run the games in the first place.

It's mostly from family sharing, but he does so when he buys a bunch of things from a sale as well. If he can't run it he'll shelve it for later when he gets a better rig.

>achievement unlocked
>SMG Master I
>Bolt-Action Master I
>Game Winner
>Teamplayer
>SMG Master II

That was hilarious. Stop shitting on things because they're popular, that won't make you look cool. You're on an image board.

Name ONE (1) game that does that.

>Mission: discover the killer's identity and save the doctor
>Achievement: deal with the doctor
Thanks.

Name ONE game

>"Play an online match once"
>the servers have been down for years

This. I have every push notification turned off.

>"Don't Fear the Reaper"

>Achievement unlocked!: Play for 1 hour
>3% of players have this achievement

>forgetting the music track that plays - The Part Where He Kills You

I wanna say Uncharted 4 but I haven't played it since the week it released so my memory is hazy.

The end of mission, end of game etc achievements would fire at the start of the relevant cutscene instead of the end. It was very jarring.

(Again I may have remembered the exact game wrong but I just remember something in the last year doing this and pissing me off)

>game has one achievement
>achievement is removed from your account after you close the game

It gave me a chuckle, to be honest

>kill big enemy
>Achievement unlocked: "David and Goliath"

>Achievement Unlocked:
>"Game's Tittle"
>Game is not even close to being done.

That does not happen in UC4 bro.

I like that better. Pick out an iconic moment that represents why the game has its title.

The alternative you suggest is basically "NOW I GUESS WE REALLY ARE [GAME TITLE]"

>Achievement Unlocked: The rundown

>Control france with an iron but fair fist
>Own castles & banks globally
>Direct descendants of the ancient royal blood line

>Ancient Indian scriptures tell of two angels who will descend upon Earth and will bring an era of enlightenment and unprecedented technological progress with them
>They own Nanobot R&D labs around the world
>You likely have Bogdabots inside you right now
>The Bogdanoffs are in regular communication with the Archangels Michael and Gabriel, forwarding the word of God to the Orthodox Church. Who do you think set up the meeting between the pope & the Orthodox high command (First meeting between the two organisations in over 1000 years) and arranged the Orthodox leader's first trip to Antarctica in history literally a few days later to the Bogdanoff bunker in Wilkes land?
>They learned fluent French in under a week
>Nation states entrust their gold reserves with the twins. There's no gold in Ft. Knox, only Ft. Bogdanoff
>The twins are about 7 decades old, from the space-time reference point of the base human currently accepted by our society
>In reality, they are timeless beings existing in all points of time and space from the big bang to the end of the universe. We don't know their ultimate plans yet. We hope they're benevolent beings.

>game comprises of around 60% achievements/trophies that require online cooperative play
>you can never get them because online has been dead for years

steamcommunity.com/stats/367500/achievements/
>Straightforward with little to no quipping or memeing
>Doesn't spoil story events, but is clearly understandable for those that played through them

>wonder how come there's an intouchables photo on Sup Forums
>click it
>the fuck are heisenberg and kevin hart doing toge...noooo

WHYYY? Are americans so god damn stupid that they need kevin hart to keep them from reading subtitles?

>Achievement Unlocked: You're a big guy

>>"Game's Tittle"

>...into the fire

youtube.com/watch?v=3L-BEUxuu_8

>unlocking achievements require playing in ironman mode with single autosave
>game is notoriously buggy with a history of corrupting save files

>Games Titties

>put black man's dead body in garage
>ACHIEVEMENT UNLOCKED: "Did You See the Sign on the Front of my House"

>no quipping or memeing
>Affinity and Beyond

>New trophy unlocked!
>''...The harder they cum.''

did somebody say late night bbc thread?

>Platinum trophy is called "GAME NAME platinum trophy" or just called "platinum trophy"

>little to no

>Achievement unlocked
>Cake is not a lie

>The game doesn't have achievemements

...

name 1024 games that have this achievement

>die for first time
>'You'll get used to it'

>playing games without achievements

Whats the point?

>Achievement unlocked
>Reference to an old TV show you never watched

Just use STEAM achievement unlocker. Nets you everything for EXTREME bragging rights!

Without achievements? Gameplay?
What was the point of achievements? Bragging?

Wait a minute... so you're trying to say that people play games for fun, not for bragging rights?

>the american movie-going public are the ones who decide which movies get made

really makes you think

also, foreign movies that were already fucking in english have gotten remade, so maybe the language isn't what they're worried about.

>starts a new game
>Trophy Unlocked!

>watches intro cutscene
>Trophy Unlocked!

Literally filler trophies.

No that would be retarded.
