No, no, no. THIS is a 5.

Seeing Ash Lake and Anor Londo for the first time was certainly something

Check this 7

Since the PS360, I'd like to say the Dark Souls franchise is about as MUST PLAY as it gets.

There's no other game, single, or collection that can bring as much to the table as any of the games in the Dark Souls series do since it's release.

Dark Souls is going to be as timeless as Super Mario 64, or Final Fantasy 7.

Checked

Um, no, my, uh, good sir, I believe that er, you are, in fact, ah, wrong, for pic related is, um indeed, the perfect, ah, game.

...

Before O&S? Yes. After? No.

>that second half
>perfect

Good job.

Yeah. I member when you could like it on Sup Forums before this board became shitpost central. Never any arguments to why it's not a good game just shitposting about how "they don't like the fanbase" like everything else even mildly popular.

i think you mean demon souls

Nope, due to Demon Ruins, Lost Izalith and Bed of Chaos

nah, the combat is too simple and you know all of it after 3 hours of gameplay.
the 2nd half is also ass

I can see how Lost Izalith gets a bad rap, but what was wrong with Demon Ruins or the Bed of Chaos?

BB>DS3>Demon's>DS1>>>>DS2

Need to replay DS1 and 2 after The Ringed City for proper judgement

Bad levels and even the creator himself blamed it on another guy in a dark souls 3 interview.

link?

Imagine Dark Souls 2 gameplay with Dark Souls 1's world.

That would have been perfect.

Bed of Chaos is a gimmick boss and the only real artificial difficulty in the game and Demon Ruins feels quite unfinished and short

Not the other user, but Demon Ruins is fugly and is some of the worst level design in the franchise. Personally, Bed of Chaos didn't annoy me but most players consider it gimmicky and apparently the hitboxes are fucked.

nigga what is a good thing about those 2 shit

>3>demon's
You need to unplug your head from your rectum for proper judgement, buddy. Graphics aren't everything.

google is a powerful tool

>Imagine Dark Souls 2 gameplay
Seriously? Dark Souls 2 has clunky as fuck gameplay

I enjoyed both. I mean, aside from the nothing but lava and half dragons area. I thought they were both pretty well put together.

Rushed or not, they were still jam packed full of content, from the Chaos Servant Covenant, to Solaire and Siegmeyer or whatever his name was.

Bed of Chaos was a pretty decent boss, even if it wasn't anything more than sprinting and rolling

Assuming we're talking about how the player character controls, how so ?

Bed of Chaos is the worst boss in the game. She's a "puzzle" boss with an easy solution, but the execution of solving the puzzle is practically RNG. Her attacks hit hard, but they can also knock you in to pits for instant kills. It just feels like there is no consistent way to do the fight, aside from quitting out of the game to start back at the fog after you destroy each shield.
Even Miyazaki said he was disapointed with how BoC turned out, iirc

>perfect game
>vanilla version of the game had boss fights that were only possible by making the AI act retarded (Fall off ledge, get stuck on objects etc.)
>Demon Ruins
>Gathering the four lord souls
>Bed of Artificial difficulty
>Best

no.

here's the spoon, you baby

>Since I had the opportunity, I had to ask what Miyazaki’s least favorite zone from the franchise is as well. The answer should come as no surprise to fans of the series – it’s the lava/dinosaur nightmare known as Lost Izalith in Dark Souls. Miyazaki comments “Don’t want to elaborate on this very much. There was a different person assigned to this area, and although I was involved, I don’t want to pose very many negative comments for his sake. It can be a learning experience for all of us.”

maybe smoldering lake was their way of making up for it.

>Ds3 that high
>the most linear of all the games, even compared to DeS and BB
>nostalgiafag reference pandering out the ass
>rehashed animations
>rehashed locations
>rehashed characters, right down to their model
>Lowest Boss count after DeS
>Most bosses are gimmicks
>Boss weapons shit as usual, despite having 4 games to draw experience from
>weapons in general are 90% quality based
>these quality weapons are also usually the best weapons in their class
>some weapons have retarded stat requirements where they don't even scale with said stats, which also happens to be quality
>armor system a horrible imbalanced mess
>the heaviest armors are the heaviest they have ever been in the series, while offering basically no additional defense over medium/light sets
>poise implemented in such a stupid way that only Greatswords and Maces get the most bang for the buck
>Some UGSs, GAs, and Hammers weigh more than entire armor sets
>Equip load is now done by VIT, which for some reason gives LESS per level than fucking dark souls 2
>a majority of the small weapons sped up to bloodborne speed, but some of the larger weapons have been made SLOWER and consume MORE STAMINA
>rolls cost next to nothing with extremely fast recovery and many iframes
>magic is garbage
>faith is garbage
>FP system is the worst system conceived
>Too many useless fucking stats
>WAs are mostly just special r2s or powerstance moves copypasted with an explosion or two at the end
>MLGS is the worst its ever been
>awful covenants
>covenants are stickers which can be changed on the go
>shitty rewards
>Dragon form the worst its ever been in both aesthetic and practical sense
>community now filled with normies who hold hands with their SL 800 Friends to get through the game
>invaders have the most disadvantage compared to all other games in the series
>First DLC was a 1.5 hour long disappointment with a rehashed arena
>Second DLC looks no better

>Bed of Chaos
>she
>her

Because one guy says the areas are rushed and not as well put together, everyone jumps on the bandwagon?

I played them without any bias towards them, and enjoyed it.

From the floors collapsing, and the corrosive snakes that can surprise you, I really enjoyed the zones. From the start, it all feels epic.

Far from it.

>Play game for 25-30 hours
>Get to boss fog
>Slide like a complete tard into boss arena
>Realize that everything you've learnt means nothing because the game is now a fucking PLATFORMER
>Keep missing the jump or sliding off the branch at the end
>Kill self

The idea is cool, the execution is lacking
> it all feels epic
shut the fuck up

It is flawed, but it's the best of the series and it's my personal favorite game of all time.

I wouldn't say it's the best game of all time -- it's too soon to say something like that. It is worthy of being mentioned in the conversation, however.

Right here OP

i agree with you. personally, i think dark souls is amazing from beginning to end and the dlc just adds onto that with extra optional stuff to do. i never had that feeling with ds2, bloodborne or ds3, unfortunately. demon's souls was good, and it was interesting to see where the series all began.

>he actually thinks DS3 is better than DeS and DaS

You need to fucking kill yourself.

BB>DeS>DaS>DS3>DS2>>>>>>>>Scholar

the word has a definition outside of the memes, sperg

>implying there hasn't been a single jump for you to make the entire time you've played the game.

I get why people disliked these areas, but they are unironically my favorite areas in the entire souls series, just because everything looks so cool and weird and lovecraftian.

>He thinks DeS is better than DaS
>laughing anime girls.jpg

Literally me.
BB and DS3 are not even comparable to the others.

for most normies who don't wander around and just follow the paths there really aren't any jumps to make up to that point. In fact you can go through practically the whole game without jumping once.

DS1 = best single player
DS2 = best multiplayer
DS3 = memes, fan service, homo sex

Why is DS3 your favourite Souls game?

The amount of gimmick bosses in Demon's are the only thing stopping me from placing it at #2, sorry user

Funnily enough I agree with a lot of your points. Post your ranking of the series

>he thinks DaS is better than DeS
>get a load of this guy.jg

There's loot in Firelink that sits next to a very important vendor that you have to at least jump from, if not to.

First off, it's not one guy who just suddenly brought up the idea. The demon ruins being unfinished is something people have been talking about since 2012.
Just because a lot of people agree on something doesn't make it a bandwagon. I personally don't think the demon ruins and izalith are bad areas, they don't feel that unfinished. They suffer from the same problem that all the post o&s areas suffer from, which is being linear as opposed to the previous half of the games vertical level integration.

BoC however is unredeemable garbage. The run to it sucks because you have to change rings, the framerate drops wildly because of lava (though I play it on PC now so less of an issue), then you have to wait fifteen seconds to slide down the entrance. Then, you have no guarantee that you will do any better this time around because the fight has no discernible pattern. The hitboxes are jank, the attacks all come from above you but you have to look down to avoid the pitfalls, it just sucks.

Czeched

I know that but do you know how many people missed that shit on their first playthrough? I talking to a friend and he didn't even know that it existed until I pointed it out to him.

Combat speed, area exploration, bonfire frequency. Guess I'm casul

>dark souls 2
>best multiplayer

youtube.com/watch?v=m4idpR-Ggp8

DS>BB>Ds2>DeS>Ds3

I only put Ds2 higher than DeS because I am a PvP fag.

sens fortress to reach the npc that sells large titanite and to get the key to the cage shortcut

checkmate faggot

what loot?

It is

Use the Chaos Servent bonfire, no ring swapping.

And his moves are all depending on your movement.

You sit back, he just does his flame claw things, you move forward, he does his swipes.

Bait the swips, run between the claws, and make the jump, battle complete after you finish the two easy parts.

favourite areas and bosses?

Pretty close, but there are better

Run from the Daughter of Chaos bonfire through the Chaos Servant shortcut and you won't have to bother with any ring changes. You can open it from the Izalith side without having to do the covenant shit. You have to run past the Titanite Demon instead, but he'll almost never hit you if you just charge past and don't bother trying to fight.

Not even the best game in the series.
Pathetic DaStards.

So wrong. Your Sony fanboy bias is showing.

DaS > DeS = SotFS = BB > DaS3

When you play them enough, you start to respect the middle games do better than the others, but you also become more aware of their flaws.

Bloodborne > Dark > Demon's > SOTFS > Dark 3

I've tried twice to get into Dark Souls 3. The first time I got to Anor Londo and the second to the Cathedral. I just do not find it fun.

Demon's was the one I played first.

>too many gimmick bosses
What ? Only gimmick bosses I can think of are obviously Dragon God, Storm King and Astreia maybe, because that's essentially a proxy fight. What bosses are you thinking about ? Idol ? Actual king Allant ? Giant blind dude, whatever his name was ?

I don't recall what it is, probably some shitty soul collectable.

but it's next to the vendor that sells boss armor.

Dark>Demon's=BB>Dark 3>Dark 2

Fair enough. I couldn't care less about PVP which is why I put DS3 higher than most and DS2 at the bottom

...

Why do you hate BB and DS3?

Kek

But des isn't that great

Good job showing guys messing around and having fun.

that's a ring of sacrifice. sorry, i was confused and thought you were talking about the bird's nest.

What makes DS2 pvp "good"?

If false idol was the one that summoned clones she should absolutely be on that list.

I never said it was.

Doesn't stop it from blowing 3 out of the water in everything that isn't graphics and health management.

Yeah, that's Fool's Idol. Boss of 3-1.

Areas:
Irythill of the Boreal Valley
Irythill Dungeon
Profaned Capital
Grand Archives

Bosses:
Champion Gundyr
Abyss Watchers
Twin Princes
Soul of Cinder

I haven't played the DLC yet

I don't hate BB, just DaS3.

I think Demon's Souls, Dark Souls 2 SotFS, and Bloodborne are tied.

They're not equal across the board, they are all better than each other in some areas and worse in others.

DaS3 however is the worst. It's not bad, it's still a really good game I comparison to most others -- but in the context of the series it falls short.

powerstancing

Oh yeah. Getting back to Undead Asylum does call for a bit of platforming in itself, too. I forgot. You gotta roll off that ledge, and cross your fingers, and that's shit you should be doing before you even get to Blighttown.

Saying Bed of Chaos is some uncalled for platforming boss is simply wrong. This game has platforming elements the entire way through it.

why?

I know how to do it, my point is that its not a good boss because its mechanically uninteresting, but beyond challenging. Baiting the attacks is nowhere near as simple as you say. You don't get a good window after the swipes to move towards the root shield, because if you sprint then odds are you run into a pit. Most consistent thing I've found is to two hand havels shield and tank the swipes, but even then they can still sometimes hit you form behind or the side even if you're facing the attack.

WHY DIDN'T THEY FIX IT?

i really enjoyed that boss and figuring out that you had to kill the religious guy to beat the boss was fun to figure out.

Despite the mundane avelinefags and the hexfags that plagued the game for a while, at the end I thought it was the most balanced pvp in the franchise. Also, I had a boner for the circular platform at the base of Heide and the Iron keep bridge.

Being a ratbro was also way too fun.

Adjudicator
Dragon God
Old Monk to a certain extent when playing offline
Astraea
Fool's Idol when you learn to identify to correct one
True King Allant
Storm King

Dark Souls III;
Greatwood
Yhorm
Wolnir
Crystal Sage to a certain extent
Deacons
Wyvern

Aside from that Demon's Souls other bosses have been mostly done better in other entries

Worst part of the game was the Ceaseless Discharge fight. Half of my deaths came from that because of how retarded the hitboxes were. I ended up having to go the cheap route by making him walk off the cliff. Those pink flying goblin things in Anor Londo were annoying as fuck too. Fuck those things

Why bother fixing it when people still gobble it up and call it BEST GAEM EVUR!

i have 350 hours in darksouls 2 and to this day i havent really explored the rat area due to this bullshit

Ceaseless discharge is fine as long as you roll to the side, there's no excuse to get hit even with janky hitboxes
It's trivial to stunlock the demons in Anor Londo

Though it was the first time it was used in a boss fight, or just a fight at all. The platforming in DaS is frickle, you need some time to adjust and position yourself. It's barely something you can do with skill and practice, or you ever needed to do before, so in this fight it can come as a surprise. And it's hard to consistently do right because of how difficult the pattern of the Bed is to predict.

dual wielding, animation cancelling, nonshit magic, stamina management, decently balanced gear, punishable healing, few nongamebreaking glitches
