>It's comfy

I don't use the shitty character models

This is true for some old games that aren't too complex. Like Castlevania 2 Redaction.

Are there any mods that fix the shitty dungeons?

>mod scene is 90% porn and barbie accessories

>it's the worst in the series because is the easiest!

>reshade makes it look better
>makes it look like the E3 graphics

>IT GETS GOOD AFTER DISK 1
Fucking hell. Playing VII for the first time, and it's is a goddamn slog

you say that but mods ruin STALKER

Does any triple A franchise have worse combat than Skyrim?

Bonus points:
>it still isn't a good game
Skyrim in a nutshell

>it gets good after you are totally into the franchise and know all the lore

Huh

>its good if you like the story
then i would read a book, retard

>it's fun with friends

>It gets good when you realize it's actually a giant fuck you to all the fans

>it gets good after 17 hours

These are the worst ones.

>it's bad because it's hard

>b-but the atmosphere

>It's good if you ignore the clunky controls

>spend hours installing mods and troubleshooting them
>lots of mod clashes and get bored in 10 minutes

>about to play __
>what should I expect?

>b-but the resolution and frame rate

as in, add more monsters, increase loot, and more sprawling dungeons separate from the main game. If you don't mean shitty in those ways the answer is no

>I want to get into __ series
>with which game should I start?

No one actually says this one, right?

>It's always a Metal Gear Solid thread

Resident Evil 1-3 are the first ones that come to my mind.

>"start with the first one"
>"nah, too old/outdated/shitty graphics."

Literally no one says this

>tfw literally nothing can fix that shit combat

>it's a "love it or hate it" type of game

>an offline mode means people can hack the game, so we'd be better off without one
>why are you shitting on drm? are you a hacker?
>oh well, it works for me. :)

>the first one is an unplayable broken nes game
nah man I'm going to start with MGS3

That's people saying they like the tank controls rather than finding them clunky. The closest I can think of are people praising Rondo of Blood for using the objectively worse classic controls instead of Castlevania 4's because it's harder that way.

You just didn't install the right mods.

>If you buy the DLC/GOTY edition then its good

>people jumping into yakuza at 0

it's not the first metal gear SOLID though, so you can skip it

>I'm playing _____ game
>am I enjoying it Sup Forums

The fuck is wrong with this you autists? You expect everyone to play the entire series when a late entry is considered the masterpiece and nobody even heard of the other ones?

>but 0 is the first right? we are going to get 1 after this

>If you loved the first game you'll hate the sequel

>It's okay but DLC will make it great

It's kind of a stupid question to ask in the first place if you're going to settle on that, and this is someone who agrees with you.

>the first one is the best

>You have to play it in Japanese since the English version changes the plot

>The english version deleted a mini game and now is unplayable

mario kart 8 if there were no DLC the game would have been forgotten and trashed on

If it's a game like Neptunia with clearly numbered games on steam then I think the answer is obvious.
Then again
>Playing Neptunia.

To be fair if the entries into a game's series are self-contained like many JRPGs are it's still a reasonable question to ask. Like FF1 probably wouldn't be a great place for anyone to start.

>the game is pretty fun with mods, dude
>NOOOOOOOOO THE GAME HAS TO STAND ON ITS OWN MERITS

what the fuck is wrong with you people

>the fuck is wrong with you people, you expect games to NOT be shit on their own??

more likely than you think

Why do you feel the need to play a game on it's own though? Too lazy to install something extra and have a genuinely good experience or what? I truly don't understand this view, why is it apparently one of your core principles that a game must be good vanilla to be worth your time?

True for all PDX Grand Strats. That said, a lot of times its more the update than the paid features that are great.

Question goes to you too I guess, I really want an actual answer. You really believe that one passionate guy can never ever do better than a team?

Fuck off StrongBad, project m was never good.

and this kind of thinking is why bethesda is still in business

The main issue is that, oftentimes, it simply isn't true. Most mod are just putting lipstick on a pig. No amount of mods will fix the fundamental problems of games like Skyrim and other Bethesda RPGs that are hampered by things like poor world design, poor quest design, poor voice acting/dialogue, poor story, poor animations and other ingrained elements that stem from the game engine itself, etc.

Yeah, totally doesn't have anything to do with all their console sales.

That's certainly how I feel about the GNU C Compiler.

You feel free to answer my question too, even though I doubt you will,

I feel like it's possible but I don't think you should support that kind of practice from AAA studios, you just make the devs to be lazy because they know that the mod community is going to do the rest of the work.

So that's a competent answer to one question, but if that's what you believe why did you say something completely different in your other comment?

I would also argue that you can still mod a game without paying for it if you don't want to support the developers but whatever.

Is it really so hard to understand to want a quality product right from the start?

Yeah, it is. It sounds reasonable when you phrase it like that but it's really just laziness or elitism as far as I can tell. "If I have to put in any work at all it isn't worth my money". Especially with regards to Bethesda, a good portion of the actual product they provide comes in the form of robust mod support, which you I guess don't believe is worth anything?

There's a difference between modding out the flaws of a good game and modding a bad game which is essentially the video game equivalent of putting sprinkles on a pile of shit.

Bethesda is still in business because they make fun games that I buy. FO3, NV, FO4, Skyrim, Oblivion. All great games that I've played to 100%

Well that's a nice little phrase you've regurgitated but how is it relevant? Are you saying Bethesda games are bad? Because I and most other people would say that they're just mediocre games that are made good or great with mods and the mod support that Bethesda provides. I feel like I'm stretching just to make that shit even tangentially relevant.

No joke 7 was good all around now 8 is the game where it gets good at around disc 2.

>souls games
>fightan games
>puzzle games
Casuals need to die.

>Are you saying Bethesda games are bad?

Yes. You need to spend hours downloading and installing mods and all you've got yourself is a polished turd.

I could have spent my time and money on a game that was good right from the start.

Like?

Do you really want me to list every good game in existence?

At least 1 just so I can call you a loser.

Ima do it now anyway but I want you to put in some effort before I call you a loser, you loser.

I don't think I'll give you the pleasure.

What if you mod the flaws out of a bad game?

What a loser can't even name 1 good game from his own list.

So your core argument against mods as a whole comes down to "Mods are bad because bethesda games are bad because you have to mod them".

And don't say that you weren't saying all mods are bad, because your original comment is clearly implying that thinking games don't need to stand without them is wrong.

Don't buy Bethesda games if you don't want to, but don't use that as an argument against buying games for mods.

Bethesda don't make bad games though, they just make pretty mediocre action RPGs. There's a middle ground between 10/10 GOTY and complete shit you know.

The initial midgar arc is the best part of the game.

The first disc is yugioh GX. there's litterally nothing the rest of the game could do to be worse.

>it becomes a good game if its modded
>none of the mods fix the real issues that are the core parts of the game
clock work

> it's a good game when you turn off your brain!

>You just didn't polished the turd enough

Another mount & blade thread.

Warbands great without mods. I played it based on Sup Forums hype (risky choice) and loved it. I briefly tried mods but found the base game was good enough and I had gotten my fill.
