Dragon Age Inquisiton

What are Sup Forums's thoughts on this game?

I'm playing through it for the first time right now as Qunari master race. Typically keeping Varric, Dorian, and Cassandra with me.

The combat is pretty fun, stunlocking everything as shield and sword warrior is a blast, archers are really fun too. But the neutered tactics system is cancer. Also click to move is sorely missed when I'm just trying to loot herbs and ores and shit.

I think I'm going to need to hop on the next Dragon Age game closer to launch though, because I've accidentally spoiled most of the game for myself already.

playing it right now, its my first playthrough and i have already sunk 55 hours on the first save file. probably will replay it someday with dragon age keep

it's not great but it's not the disaster Sup Forums makes it out to be. It's a 7/10

Controlls are terrible, horrible pacing of a silly story in general, deleted afterwards to never touch again.
Didn't invest dozens of hours to experience full glory of MMo style quests.

It's shite once the Hinterlands honeymoon is over. Also, it's pretty fucking short with immense padding.

The game definitely doesn't do a good job of directing you to the more "meaningful" content. But if you look up where cool things in the zones like The Still/Frozen ruins or whatever are at there's a lot more fun to be had than just endlessly fighting rifts.

I think I want to impregnate Josephine!
Buy only modded so those moles are gone.

Romance options in DAI were so asinine.

Two story expansions elevate the game and also shake up the existing lore pretty significant, especially dwarves, but Inquisition on its own is probably a 6/10 game when you tally everything. It's just so poorly made on every level that matters.

Exploration can be fun at times, sure, it's not really "hand holding" issue.
But that combat system is just uplayable for me and i even have beaten first RE4 port on keyboard, and that tells something.

>Tfw the major choice of the warden mission is forgive the wardens or be retarded
>Tfw Corpheus, a magister, is the major villain, and The Architect wasn't included to oppose him
>Tfw The Warden mission wasn't side with the flawed Wardens who are falling apart, or side with The Architect to get shit done but obviously put everyone on edge
Would have improved the game significantly to have that dynamic of those two fighting each other.

We know that Corypheus busts out of a Warden body when he dies in that one mission, so regardless of our Awakening choices The Architect alive and kicking somewhere.

I found that outside of mages there's a ton of fun to be had. Archers and Tanks are both a blast to play.

It's not quite Origins gameplay, but its still enjoyable.

So if you wish to date someone with a straight male character you have to pick between Cassandra and Josephine. In Bioware universe, Cassandra is the only heterosexual woman in existence.

That's the same number of options that Origins had fambo, Leliana and Morrigan

Also 2 1/2 if you count Scout Harding, though it doesn't have the same substance as the other romances

>>Tfw The Warden mission wasn't side with the flawed Wardens who are falling apart, or side with The Architect to get shit done but obviously put everyone on edge

Portraying Grey Wardens as fucking morons is of the worst offenses of DAI. Like, their leader literally has to be retarded to go along with the shit she agrees with. And she's a goddamn MAGE who should immediately see through the bullshit.

Would have made more sense if she was being controlled like the other mages instead of duped.

It does feel like a bit of a copout that you can basically entirely turn the wardens with one speech from Blackwall the Sociopath

>It does feel like a bit of a copout that you can basically entirely turn the wardens with one speech from Blackwall the Sociopath

Really, I would've locked that option entirely unless you had Blackwall with you. But that's Bioware writing for you when you can turn people around 180 with only couple of lines.

It seems weird that suddenly every Warden goes "Wait this is retarded" when a Warden they've never seen before tells them it is, but didn't listen when their Duncan (Stroud) told them, or a hero of the fifth blight. Only context it makes sense in is if you have Loghain as a warden.

Also "Pick between DAO and DA2" seemed hilariously forced. Especially since the majority of world states end up with Stroud instead

I was super excited for The Warden mission but it fell the flattest of the story missions imo.

I was hoping at the very least the music would be remastered Origins music or something, but no.

I honestly don't know how to feel about this game. Objectively, it seems more complete/better than DA II. But I cannot bring myself to keep playing this game. I made it to Skyhold, or what wver the actual fortress is, but I was so utterly bored by the gameplay and the story that I dropped the game. Everything about it, other than a few of the characters, bores me to tears.

bioware subscribes to "it's not worth doing unless X% of players does it" theory of game design. which basically means you'll rarely see special conditions for actions and outcomes if it requires any real effort.

Isn't that also Bethesda's mantra? it's also (((Terry Pratchett's))) quote.
So much for originality and individualism...

DA:O > DA:I > DA2
DA:I at launch: 6/10
DA:I now + The Descent + Jaws of Hakkon + The Tresspasser: >8.5/10
British male voice best voice.
Sera was legit attractive, shame she doesn't like dicks. Many faps were had thinking about her plump pink lips and hips
Wartable was a neat idea but the amount of time required for them was too long, plus they should have been more mixed in with actual side quests, not exclusively text adventures
90% the sidequests were trash. This really sucked.
Equipment crafting and painting was fun. There really should have been more schematics though.
Cassandra was tsundere.
Knight Enchanter was cash as fuck.
Skyhold should have been more interactive, should have had more things to do in it.
