d4

there

This game is #Problematic

I jizz on squares A8 to H8.

This. After a few obvious calculations, it is the move that will lead to a win with perfect play from both sides.

e4 is objectively the best move.

f3

Fucking snipers.

my dad used that opening on me when he wanted to mix it up

where the lobbies at

The only correct move is this

pawn c3, or g1 to f3, are solid openings.

d4 everytime

>d4babbies

White wins most of the time. How do we nerf white?

I'd say E3 but mods might delete this thread if I do.

Turn based trash.

Starts with a pawn less, randomly selected

maybe, but then that gives black a huge advantage later on.

either d4 or e4, followed by a back up pawn (e3 or d3, respectively).

I heard this was a solved game? Who is guaranteed to win at highest skill level then? Black?

I'm interested into chess, how do I seriously git gud ?

Play it over and over and over.

White moves first but on the first turn black can move a second time but must move a pawn.

pawn to f3 is one of the worst openings for white

>what is the Sicilian

No.

Its E4 or knight C3.

It's not solved, it's a while to go until it will be solved. Checkers has been solved.

Look up some beginner chess books. There are a lot of areas you can focus on first: learning some openings, learning basic endgame situations, learning mating patterns, and solving puzzles.

I'd rather not then, I'm already doing this with fighting games and dota
I'm just tired to repeat the same things over and over

Pit large chess teams against each other with evenly sided white/black ratio and give everyone who starts black a machete.

>Putting your kings pawn out on the front lines
E4 is a terrible move, E3 opens up flanking from bishop or queen, C3 knight is acceptable.

That's literally the only way to git gud at anything. Why even bother gitting gud if you don't want to deal with the repetition?

Study and practice the basics, play lots and lots of tactics. Don't get into openings and chess theory that shit is more advanced.

>E4 is a terrible move
get a load of this drawbabbypleb lmao

play more than one game, dumbass

...

You want to control the center as quickly as possible and castle early, e4 or d4 are very good moves.

that would be e2-e4, you bolshevik

this

plebs gonna pleb

I meant I'm already trying to git gud at both of these things, and I'm studying physics at the same time. I can't learn another thing

There is nothing good about opening up a path to your king, E3 is more protective than E4 while providing the same advantages,
Gitgud

what did he mean by this

How exactly did you expect to git gud at chess if you didn't want to learn a new thing? Did you think just because you're not a complete idiot you could just jump in and do fine?

Because as long as you know how the pieces move, you probably can. But anyone who has play 100+ games will probably make you their little bitch.

But that's the point, the more games played, white will win most on average

>Checkers has been solved.
So assuming both players use this apparent perfect flowchart, does first turn win or lose?

>g1 to f3
>pawn to f3 is bad
learn to reading. fuck.

no you fucking idiot

Game 1
>Player A - White
>Player B - Black

Game 2
>Player A - Black
>Player B - White

this is why tournaments aren't single game elimination. The skill of chess cannot be explored in a single game.

Lose. First turn loses in a perfect match.

Play it. A lot.

While doing so, try to visualize your opponents next move and base your moves on your predictions. You will often be wrong, but this will train your brain to recognize patterns and anticipation.

Chess is a game about A. realizing what your opponent is trying to do (only applies when playing against actual chess players, most casuals don't have a plan of any sort) and B. making valuable trades. If you can sacrifice a lower value piece to take a high value piece, you usually want to. Queen > Bishop = Rook > Knight > Pawn

>There is nothing good about opening up a path to your king
cool, then we're cool with E4 because it doesn't open up a path to your king. Good job solving that.

no, im pretty sure perfect play = draw everytime.

Pretty sure that it always results in a draw when mistakes are not made.

That's like.. the definition of a solved game, isn't it?

Opening a pawn for white on the 3 rank is considered extremely non aggressive and if you castle early then you don't have to worry about the king. e4 is literally one of the most popular and best openings

I used to crush kids in highschool all day with the Sicilian but im not going to pretend that e4 isnt just the safest opening for white.

no, the defination of a solved game is a game where there the outcome can be determined before the start. Tic-Tac-Toe is the more common talking point here and yes, always ends in a draw.

did you come here yesterday?

>did you come here yesterday?
what did he mean by this?

Learning openings. Play a lot, daily. No days off.

Try to only learn a few openings, and get really good at those.

I agree, this is my open every time, no fancy shit

Just trade trade trade and slap shit in the end game

1. c4, English opening is all I use, confuses people who only know how to play against e4.

e4 or d4
I like to use g3 or g4 at times though

I miss g4

Some silly variation of chess where people take turns simultaneously

What? White typically wins more often than black, your analogy with switching sides for each player even supports him

Game 1
>Player A - White
>Player B - Black

Game 2
>Player A - White
>Player B - Black

Assuming both players are equally skilled, Player A will typically win more often

Could you beat Tet?

mah nigga

Miss it? When did you see it?

Did one of you stupid fuckers really just suggest Nc3 is better than e4

>snipers
>chess
what the fuck are you talki

sell chess game rights to EA/Dice they will sure find a fucking way to milk and fuck up with it

Initiative > reaction

How can blacks even compete?

The dub was god awful. Genuinely one of the worst dubs I've ever seen.

>that weak as fuck "BUT I REFUSE"
youtu.be/w849AEetloA?t=366

>tfw Nintendo still hasn't fixed this game

I wonder how many people tried to pull this bullshit after seeing this.
