I liked it, but I still like Zesteria a million times more. The only thing Berseria had going for it was combat, but it's story is pretty much on par with every Tales of sequel: a mediocre attempt at tieing in everything that made the first great.
But one thing I don't like is this shoddy attempt at tying the games together, they left so many open questions in Zest, and refused to follow up on them, and some just plain don't make any sense period, and contradict themselves now.
>Artorious' throne in Zesteria is clearly the empyrian's throne, but it never gets destroyed. Why is it suddenly "Artorious' throne" hundreds of years after Artorious has passed, when he even as he claimed it, it was still the Empyrians? Furthermore, Heldalf later takes it as his own >Hyland and rolance geographically make no sense, if we're to believe the world changed in thosands of years, why is the geography NOTHING like its future? If Logrithan tower becomes logrin, why is it in a grassy ravine, when clearly its later in the zaphgot moor, a Desert? >If Magilou is a Mayvin why isnt she part of the storytellers clan? why isnt melchior? Old man mayvin allegedly is older then them both. >Who was Zaveids love? We see him drink, but we can never puruse that quest because the dragon disappears >Why is Zaveid in the windrunners getup when the windrunners didnt exist untill 900 years later? he clearly didnt found them. He even says so in Zest >How does Eizen become a dragon? This is clearly pivotal to ednas story, yet all they give him is "Reapers curse" something obviously has to make him go malevolent. >If Velvet is now the supposed "lord of calamity" what does this make heldalf? The title doesn't just shift like some entity, he gained that tile from his own dark deeds. >That last scene with laphicet and velvet in the credits is fucking awkward. even worse because they're siblings.
Too much shit unaccounted for.
Jack Bailey
you expected this shit game to make sense?
Ryder Barnes
I would hope so, they had no trouble wioth any other tales of titles up to 2005 making sense.
I know babs seriously reaching these days, but cmon man, its not hard to put logic into a JRPG plot, especially when you base it on such simple pretenses.
Caleb Peterson
I liked them, I'd take Zesteria/Beseria over Graces and Xillia any day
Ethan Evans
Uhh excuse me, but Zestiria was a total shitfest, and easily the worst game in the series. You only dislike Berseria because you're looking at it as a Zestiria fanboy.
To people who aren't zestiria fanboys, Berseria is a great game. Certainly better than that pile of shit on a plate you call zestiria.
Jackson Robinson
Berseria is shit. Only /ss/ loving degenerate homos think Berseria is a good game.
Dylan Perry
kill yourself. You wouldn't know a good game if it smacked you in the face. That's obvious simply from the fact that you liked zestiria
get some taste, retard.
Adam Watson
Zesteria was an experimental shot at recreating the feel of classic Tales of in modern day, And it did that very well, it supplemented the Norse in Phantasia with Arthurnian legend abnd retold a simple plot of light VS dark, no underlying world cataclysmic religion nonsense like every game since. The only thing I refuse to defend is its combat and camera, which is a crying shame, because even a simple system LMABS like Abyss' would've made it shine.
If you're going to call me anything its a Phantasia/Eternia fanboy. Zesteria is by far my favorite, but to me was far more unique and interesting then Graces/Xillia or any other "modern" Tales of title.
>Worst of the series.
If you seriously think this I wouldn't even call you a fan of the series. Every fan knows Tempest is the worse and this is not up to debate. The only people who dislike zesteria are the silly console/PC warriors who think platform supremacy is a viable reason to shit on a game.
Needless to say, I can respect your opinion, but I don't value you shitting on mine without facts nor your own convictions to back it up.

>/ss/ homos >After the biggest fujo pandering game

Your hostility isnt winning you any points user. I'm far from hostile and won't be calling people out for their opinions. Simply correcting and defending my own. So try slandering me all you want, but it won't work. As I have no hatred for any titles ion the series, and I loath petty warring over titles and rank.
Jayden Jenkins
is this a good game to get into the series?
Aaron Phillips
No. Its a Prequel to Zesteria, and you'll be utterly lost because it references Zesteria at every turn. Either start with Zesteria f you want to start in this far, or go back to something entry level like Symphonia/Abyss
Blake Mitchell
>Playing Tales of games strictly for combat
Are you tweaked? Vesperia is the only game that survives on combat, and even then the poiunt is to enjoy the full package. Stop playing RPGs if all you want is to beat things up, because theres no satisfaction in buttonmashing tales games
Samuel Gutierrez
Zesteria and Berseria are both good games OP, but don't expect level headed discussion on Sup Forums of all places, seeing as both titles are for PC, its all that tales fags will shit on just to prove superiority
Owen Howard
You know a game is bad when everyone else is more tolerable then the main character
Elijah Clark
Can this shit
be pirated
on PC?
Jayden Lewis
>made the first great.
Stoped reading right there. Refer to the entire wiki page about why Zestria was dogshit like your opinions.
Jaxon Cooper
>I liked Zestiria more Fuck off faggot
Joseph Moore
No, only the DLC
Dominic Sanchez
A Zestiriafag has no right to talk about story.
By the Berseria shits on your game at every opportunity. At one point it's even implied the Sparrowfeathers and Scattered Bones originated as a terrible comedy trope competing with Magilou's ironic shitposting
Isaiah Hill
user take a moment and reflect on how retarded your post is then repent
Jace Phillips
all of this is explained in both games if you actually took time to play them instead of shitpost
Jonathan Clark
lol, zestiria is legitimately the worst game they've made besides tempest.
Nolan Powell
All of this is in the game. Please go back and play it then come back again with a better opinion.
Thomas Young
ITT: Helions who parrot what they hear without formulating their own opinions
"Worst in the series" You people truly prove you follow the collected opinion of the masses rather then your own feelings. I pity you greatly
Bentley Price
If you're referring to alisha and segei, guess what user? Things change. The story was just fine without your Waifu being playable. She played her role as hylands princess, and did much more from the throne then she could do traveling with Sorey.
It's like vesperia 360, which was infinitely better thought out then PS3, Flynn joining your party destroys the whole point of what he does on the side, his meetings in heliord, the things he does as a knight contrast yuri's more hands on approach. PS3 was a shitty excuse of shoehorning in a character who didnt need to be playable, and completely adding pointless filler to an already perfect story.
So please tell me again my "opinion" is dogshit without resorting to cutting room floor preliminaries. Just because you can't be as open and tolerant as me, someone who greatly loves and appreciates this series, doesn't mean you have the right to demonize me and my values.
I'm not like you, I'm not black and white that X is good and Y is better, I believe in equality for a series I enjoy, and I defend and attack points on all sides. Don['t compare me to consolewarring, superiorty complex riddled filth like you
Christian Edwards
Funfact: Zestiria, Berseria, and Xillia 1&2 use the same game engine. It's also no surprise that those games were mediocre.
Joshua Jackson
They also re-use the same enemy assets and recolor them forr bosses. We havent had new assets in ages
Charles Jackson
Funfact: People are only butter about Zesteria because of Baba's Dev drama with Rose' seuiyu
Never once do people critisize zesteria as a game, they imeddiately jump to "BUT MAI WAIFOOO"
