Really? Half Life 3 has been alluded to in code leaks from Dota and stuff.

To be honest, I just don't want to accept it.

It's going to be open world with endless quests, like kill 15 comines and recieve unique Crowbar upgrade +15% dmg. with crafting. Or very linear levels with cutscenes around every corner, and microtransactions upon that.
Oh, and don't forget to preorder to recive exp. boost and survival kit for pros from the start of the game.

Despite what Valve has done to other games, I don't think they would do that to Half Life, their baby.

Yes, a Half-Life sequel is never happening because Valve has no interest in making one. All of the people responsible for Half-Life have either left Valve or are working on stuff like VR.

There's some interview out there explaining that because of the way valve's dev team works hl3 will basically never happen.

Anyone at Valve can work on what they want. Some people work on Half Life 3 from time to time. This means that little bits and pieces like this turn up around the place.

It does not mean that it's in full scale production or that it's ever actually coming out.
