Why was this game so perfect?
>Fun and engaging
>Rather difficult
>Lots of quality
>TONS of extras including a completely revamped mode where you're the Green Goblin as well as bowling
The only licensed game I've ever liked.

Spiderman 2 wasn't all that bad either
This game was so fucking fun. One of the only capeshit related things I've ever enjoyed.
>Spiderman 2 came out a few years later
>everyone claimed it was even better than the first
>went out and got it
>mfw it was literally a dumbed down sequel but it was a GTA clone and had the open world meme so this somehow made up for the drop in quality of every other aspect
>but muh web slinging tho!
1 is the best.
that tutorial level though
>B-but the gayming media told me that video game writing was always bad! It wasn't until Naughty Gods came onto the scene in 2010 that games finally god good writing, then good humor when Borderlands developed good video games jokes!
oh dang how I missed this.
who are you quoting?
Circus in town?
Don't forget
>literally dozens of cheat codes
>actually fun training/challenge modes
>billions of combat combos (even if handspring was the best one) and web attacks
>a bunch of bosses with different mechanics
>collectibles to unlock secrets and shit
God damn, I wanna play this again now
>What's with the getup, chump?
>LOOKS LIKE THE FREAK WANTS TO PLAY!
Sorry I didn't mean to greentext that post out.
That game was seriously so damn good.
>The play as Mary Jane cheat got taken out because some parent saw her kiss herself during the ending cutscene
>Enter cheat code to play as Mary Jane
>In the ending Mary Jane is making out with Mary Jane
YEEEEEAH buddy
...
Aside from the green goblin cheat I loved how you could play as any of the non-plot relevant NPCs and also plain clothes peter parker and the spiderman wrestling outfit. I wish more games made alternate uniforms/costumes available.
Who was the best enemy of that game and why was it Shocker?
Shocker was actually a legitimate force in that game, it's a shame he became a joke in literally every game afterwards.

WE'LL MEET AGAIN SPIDER-MAN!
Seriously. Pretend Spiderman 2 didn't have open world, there is very little to enjoy in that game.
I really like Sam Raimi's spider-man movies
they're comfy as hell to rewatch
They also had tobey maguire, kirsten and dafoe's voicing the characters. They had to drop that shit for the next game because it was fucking expensive.
Ah man, the hours I would spend as a kid replaying that level over and over just to hear his voice
