What made gabe join the dark side?
I don't know. Why think for yourself?
If some guy on Sup Forums says we don't, then we don't. Simple as that.
It's the beard! WE HAVE TO KILL THE BEARD
>join
He was literally always a greedy Jew.
Valve are a joke. They bitch about patches on ios amd consoles but how about they try fucking releasing something that doesn't need to be patched 10 times in the first month. How about that u useless shits. and then they make stupid fucking claims like consoles can't handle tf2 even though there's shit far more advanced running on consoles
valve straight up don't know how to make modern games. That's why they dont make any. They are all hacks and got lucky with steam. fucking losers all of them. They have an entire corridor dedicate to jelly beans in their office. They spend more time working on the snack bar than they do on their games.no wonder gabe is such a fat wobbly piece of shit. Get a life gabe newell
You gain a license to play the games provided in Steam, goy.
>Sup Forums finally starts to wake up
>it's fucking 2017 already
you underage faggots used to laugh to those who refuse to buy if game doesn't have a physical box release.
WHOS LAUGHING NOW DORKS
>Physical game
>Requires Steam to run
>sales are final
>steam offers a very generous refund policy
??
Beat me to it
>faggot laughs about having physical copy
>receives it
>disc has no data on it besides a steam installer
>only use is transporting the key to enter into Steam
>yfw someone paid just as much for a Steam copy so they could wait longer to receive the game
that thing is fucking real right? and people actually bought them thinking it's full installation as it should be
>Sup Forums is one person
>90% of posts respond favorably to something, following similar arguments, and the 10% that disagree are guaranteed at least 10 replies from angry responders
>Why does everyone assume Sup Forums feels one way about something?
You basically own a key to play them on Steam. If they went out of business they would patch the games in your library so Steam isn't required to play them, sort of like what happened when GFWL was shut down.
MGSV physical PC copies had it specifically, but in general every physical PC game since 2010 requires Steam activation/authentication.
he's clearly mentioning more than one view.
user, he was never on the light side. You just never realized it.
Francis in Left 4 Dead tried to warn us!
>What if just your beard starts to turn? Can I shoot that?
wow, then what's the fucking point of it? jesus
People here used to shitpost a game for having microtransactions, too.
lol your money goes to thin air for mere 0s and 1s
Allahu Snackbar
His background was dropping out of school to work at Microsoft. He has always been a cold hearted business man.
there isn't. I don't think I've ever seen any one buy a physical copy of a PC game since maybe 2007.
im not gonna pay those jew prices for physical copy.
>I'm not putting muh credit on the pee cee
>I'm 10 and need to pay cash
>I'm autistic and not having a physical item in my hand after an exchange of currency makes me shit my pants.
No Jew can resist the #1 Jewish instinct.
to fellate morons like the actual answer to steam collapsing would be piracy, which is trivial in Current Year
lol your money goes into thin air and cancerous smoke
lol your money goes into thin air for moving pictures on a screen
lol your money goes into thin air for countless of things people buy
wow
You don't technically own physical copies anymore either outside of the plastic material. So it doesn't make much of a difference.
On the other hand if Valve went crazy, steam copies are often the easiest to unlock if you needed access to shit you've paid for.
...
Not gonna lie, former Steam user here. This is fucking hilarious watching Valve crash and burn. But in all seriousness we can't let them get the nuclear codes.
At least those examples you listed are productive compared to video games.
yes
can you just fucking imagine what kind of shit-storm will happen when the steam servers go offline, and EVERYONE loses their shit, quite literally loses every single thing they bought?
a great videogame crash is coming again, and the destruction will be physical this time.
Do Jews actually believe this? That we are the animals
>piracy is a service problem
Only people who've already made millions of dollars say that.
No and don't look it up
where do you think the word goyim comes from
goyim literally loosely translates to "my personal sheep"
The Jews are called human beings, but the non-Jews are not humans. They are beasts."
- Talmud: Baba mezia, 114b
that's literally why I avoid using online platforms and online mandatory games. Maybe because some subconsciousness shit about some movie I've watched when I was kid where all the power on earth goes off one night.
If I lose some game I'm just going to pirate it, the devs already got my money and unless It's some online shit you don't actually need it on steam.
Yes, and they have a base in the moon when they monitor every of our movements, wake up user!
then youd have no electricy to play your physical games either you fuckwit
but i see your point... kek
You don't own a physical game either, in fact you don't own any piece of software unless you were one of the creators, every software you think you have is just a license of use.
lol yeah but you know it's just about losing connections basically.
Kek my sides joojoo
Only Zionists believe it.
2008 he was too busy filming family guy stop forgetting this dumbasses
This is literally not fair on Gabe who has done nothing but provide us with the only Tripple A games on the market.
Of course you don't you dipshit, what if Steam closed up tomorrow?
>paying for air
When everyone made fun of him for saying Gaben. It hit him deeply and now he gets his revenge by fucking you over.
What's true is I've made almost $200,000 from my indie game and I fucking love Steam for providing for me.
What the fuck is the 2012 thing talking about? Steam isn't a subscription service
...
which game faggot?
Why is Volvo trying to push VR so much? Its a niche market right now
>Steam isn't a subscription service
yes it is. read the tos.
You don't own anything, your parents paid for it.
Theoretically yes.
It all has DRM so if you can't acces it you can't launch the game so if steam dies those games die too.
but in the "we can take your game whenever we want" sense its retarded.
Even IF they got something about that in their terms of use they would just be shit on with lawsuit and they WOULD lose as they advertise it as "selling" games.
My gbp paid for them
>generous
>2 hours played
really helped with NMS, didn't it?
probably the realization that people are fucking retarded and even if you hand them everything they need they'll still fuck it up
For years I've been telling people Valve don't give a fuck about video games or their fanbase. They run their sales, they make a shitload of money and they laugh in your faces.
>a great videogame crash is coming again
Based on what? What makes you think Steam will just close shop and we lose our games?
Do you know what the word "subscription" is?
>Valve makes more money in Steam market 1 penny market transaction fees in a single day than user will make in his entire life
>VIDEO GAME CRASH IS INCOMING! WAKE UP SHEEPLE!
A billionaire is in hospital, dying, needs blood transfusion. So he says to his friend, Gabe Newell:
-I will give you a million dollars for blood transfusion.
Gabe accepts, transfusion is done, billionaire lives a bit longer. Some time later he needs another blood transfusion, so he says to his friend Gabe Newell:
-I'll give you 10 000 dollars for blood transfusion.
Gabe accepts, the transfusion is done and the billionaire lives a bit longer. Some time later he needs another transfusion, so he says to his friend Gabe Newell:
-I'll give you one dollar for blood transfusion.
Gabe Newell asks:
-Why such a drop? First one million dollars, then ten thousand, and now one dollar? What happened?
To which the billionaire replied:
-It must be all that jewish blood in me.
So can we agree that japan is the best and they are the saviors of the industry likee always?
Yeah it's true. What you're paying for is a license to lease the game indefinitely. Steam owns it and can take it away from you whenever they want.
Nothing is eternal in real life, but if Steam somehow goes down, cracked versions of most games exist anyway. In any case, there will always be shit cashgrab games and games with substance that everyone rates highly and then buys, even if just to support future games from the studio. Entertainment will -always- be in demand, and has been since man walked the earth.
I'm pretty sure Brandon Marlo never said that.
...
They're a badly run company with no organisation or structure, people just work on projects when they feel like it
In other words, nobody is forced to do their job so nothing gets done, games are never finished and all the workers become lazy retards collecting their salary
This fat faggot has always been a piece of shit, it's just that you and all the other redditors worship him like a god """ironically""".
Yes. You clearly do not. Read Steam's TOS.
...
not according to EU law
you're supposed to be able to sell your shit even, they're just not trying too hard to enforce that part
Smoking is productive? Watching TV is productive?
Nigga is preaching some prophetic apocalyptic shit over here.
Fucking spooky
what's even more spooky, is if you don't reply to this post your mother will die in her sleep tonight
>Piracy is a service problem
What did he mean by this
He meant to turn games into a service.
Piles of money. As far as the eye can see
I don't use steam, I just pirate everything.
Imagine? You don't need too, just look at Sup Forums whenever Steam goes down for weekly maintenance. Everyone loses their shit because they can't play any of their games.
Do not underestimate the importance of 1s and 0s. They all represent something. For example, 1 is the number of chromosomes that each cell in your body carries, and 0 is the number of times you will have sex in your entire life.
He he realized finally that he owns the entirely of the PC market.
GFWL died and the Windows 10 store will never compete.
Origin is literally there just to see the handful of EA games that they shove out.
GoG isn't really in the same league and never will be.
Steam has a stranglehold on the whole thing. It's why he's desperately trying to monetize mods so they can skim even more off the top.
He will never own the entirety of PC market, there are still physical distributions.
>inb4 lol everything is distributed online man, there's no physical distribution
There still is some physical distribution and there will always be, since a considerable amount of people prefers physical copies. I, for example, automatically pirate every game that I want that isn't distributed physically.
In the future there will be no DLC.
You will need to buy each piece of content separatedly!
Piss poor service = piracy, which is true. Now if only they will honour it.
You've never really owned software. It's just more obvious now that more things are digital-only
Ask not what the developers can do for you, ask what you can do for the developers.
We gamers have gotten to entitled. We want the greatest gameplay experiences, with hundred of hours of content and the crispier graphics.
However, games become more and more expensive to develop by the minute.
Games need budgets well over 30 million dolars just to not be laughted out of retail.
Triple A games have budgets well into the hundred million range. Today there are indie games with multimillion budget.
It's unfeasible to continue.
So when a developer releases on-disk DLC, when they sell skins or horse armour, when they push yearly sequels, buy it.
Buy all of it. Support the industry, or with will break. And no one will ever make the games we want to play again.
You guys are too entitled, without paid mods and online subscription fees gaming is going to die.
That's origin btw
>smoking is productive
What the actual fuck
He's like Palpatine. He was always a sith lord, just in disguise.
Working within your scope is the first thing any serious game designer learns. No one is forcing the "AAA" industry to make $100 million dollar games that require 5 million+ copies to be sold just to break even, when there are indie developers who worked on a $0-$10k budget and still managed to sell millions.
You don't need to be the game studio that pays 100 engine designers to break into the 'next gen graphics' that becomes outdated in a year. It's not entitlement to ask publishers and studios not to slice their base game up into three pieces to sell for DLC and sacrifice the quality of their base product in the process, or create convoluted 'special editions' they make a fuckton of profit off of anyway, or to implement invasive (and sometimes mandatory just to progress in a reasonable timeframe) microtransactions on a game you already paid $60 for while you're on a limited budget, or not be 'always online' when you can't be 'always online', it's common fucking sense.
Instead, Valve has just been focusing on games that you can essentially only play multiplayer, unless for some God forsaken reason you actually want to pirate CSGO or TF2 or whatever just to play with bots.
Very few games come out physically on PC anymore that don't just have a steam key activation right along side it.
I don't remember the last physical copy I bought that didn't.
>likes small budgeted games
>doesn't like actual graphics
You must be a Nintendrone
No. Fuck it. I want the industry to break. It needs to die in order to rise from the ashes like a fucking phoenix. Big money and statistical data ruined video games. We don't need huge open world games, we need immersive and interesting open world games. We don't need beautiful graphics, we need beautiful worlds. We don't need gimmicks, we need gameplay. We don't need cinematic experiences, we need simple, relatable stories. For all of this to happen, the video game industry needs to die, because it went too far. We need to make the developers make huge, expensive games just to be failures which make them all go bakrupt and need to beg to survive. The lazy parasites will die, and the creative people with passion for video games will survive. And they will start making small, affordable, good games with innovative features.
