>Nioh main character is based on a real person
>He was also the first recorded Western Samurai

Nioh is literally the story of the first Weeaboo, and is probably told in the same way he would, ridiculous anime embellishments and all.

Those damn Japs got us good...

>hasn't mentioned how Okatsu has too much ass

this game isn't very authentic

...

>us

>TFW stats and attributes were tacked onto this game at the last second without a thought
>Even at end game no armor will require more than 15 points of a stat investment.
>Softcap is 20. FUCKING 20
>Get some points and do the ninjitsu quests. Respec with no ninjitsu and congrats. you still have access to all the high tier ninjitsu trees.

I really want to like this game but fuck you can really see where the devs took a broken game and tried to make somerthing out of it.

>The bad guys were the English all along

Japan knows what's up.

So, I'm suddenly doing zero damage to the floating heads. Thought it might be the Ogress mask, but even swapping it out is not changing anything. Anyone else run into this issue?

The Portuguese were the first to reach Japan.

I can see low level pvp being the most interesting when pvp is actually implemented. We might actually see some interesting build variety then.

The floating wheels or just the floating fire heads? It's probably got something to do with an element on your weapon, at least that's as far as I can guess.

What's the best way to distribute stats then? Just get everything to around 20?

The elemental floating heads. Thought it might be my weapon, swapped it out, still not getting any damage on them. I'm draining their ki, but damage reads as zero still.

The element would do 0 damage, not the entire weapon.

Basically yes. It's clear they intended for players to put points into everything, but that also means that you end up with basically pointless stats. I'm not sure whether that's good or bad, considering this game is even more heavily skill based than the Souls series.

That's odd. Try using your ranged weapons.

if you think of it this way, you basically can't fuck up a build, or have a situation where one build is way stronger than others (i.e. Dex/Fai in DaS)

basically, Skill > Gear > Stats as opposed to Skill > Stats > Gear

Post those stats boys

>umi bobou twilight mission
>half a dozen death have been from fallin into the water

That's a good way to look at it. It will certainly make PvP very interesting. No one will be able to complain about OP builds, they'll have to suck it up and accept that they're shit.

>Yoki used to dumpster me and make me use a lot of healing items
>Now I can destroy them without even getting touched by draining their Ki and going crazy with Low Stance combos

feels good

For you guys having trouble with nue..

If you go for a magic build the last dojo mission has you fight one with a wooden katana and only 3 elixers

or, more likely, they'll complain about someone's gear being OP (omg this faget has too high break not fair OP pls nerf)

Taking a break right now, but I'll check it later if it's still being goofy

Is Nue the third mission boss? The lightning chimera? If it is, I found him pretty easy...

but the last mob in that Veteran Dojo mission was a Tengu

So what did people find frustrating about Great Centipede? I just aced him on my first try, he was probably the easiest boss so far.

that's not the last onmyo mission,

you unlock the final one after the first mission in region 6.

The mystic art mission is unlocked later on

I tend to take what people say here with a grain of salt but apparently lots of people died to poison somehow

what do i do on this 5th area mission where all these red pools spawn op as fuck samurai?

the mage gave me some purple thing to ward off spirits but i cant use it

I haven't gotten to that point, but how does anybody die to poison? Unless he gets in a hit that puts you to the point where you don't have enough time to antidote yourself I don't see how you could ever die to poison.

Can't speak for anyone else, but the poison was a pain in the ass. Yes, I know one of segments spewed it and I did kill them as they were doing that, but sometimes he'd come up on me while I was working it and kill me.

I think it's because it's before a lot of people learned how to block.
I know that sounds stupid, but that's the only reason i can think of.

...

So what exactly is Way of The Samurai mode?

I know its NG+ but will all the levels be scaled to ilevel 150 or will it be a slow progession. I just want to run rando yokai realms on that mode and have it be worth while.

>Bait lightning beam
>Running strong attack
>Beat it till it recharges ki
>Repeat
I don't understand how anybody has issues with Nue. It could be done with bare hands at level 1 easy by doing this, assuming you had the patience to wail on it for an hour.

walk against the giant red crystals, you'll be able to jam it into those.

...

I've seen several people that couldn't even put two and two together and realize the poisonous rocks in the level are the body of the centipede. I've even seen someone never use a fan and think you just had to rush through the poison.

Feels like when people make dumb mistakes in Souls games they blame themselves but when they play something else they blame the game

i agree but i see constant complaining about nue even though it has three attacks leaving his belly open to get rubbed.

So what's the deal with the kodama bowl item? I don't know what it's used for.

>one eyed oni, wheelmonks and huge tongue guys decking me left and right
>learn to dodge towards them and sidestep their bullshit in low stance and molest their buttholes all day
>mfw debuffing them with lightning

lol gay

>medium armor

Oh man and here I thought I was just being stupid. How the hell is it harder to see in the red twilight than at night.

>>Softcap is 20. FUCKING 20

that's shocking considering the Soulsborne games the softcap is at 40

Adams was just a clerk. Samurai was a symbol of his office or some shit, just wiki'd it, pretty lame story.

I didn't know the body split into them, I just ran above. Poison doesn't even do that much damage and you have all the time in the world to get away from the boss. Still beat him without dying.

No softcap yet into the 50s.

You just hit a level that is lower now and then but go right back up after pushing through that one level.

It's for a set to slightly boost lightning. I have enough toughness to not need heavy right now.

so what exactly do the kagatsuchi magatama do to improve the forge?

I don't even feel like that's an excuse. I didn't even block and he was easy as shit. Literally just run away and attack his ass while he's spitting shit at you. Use attacks with high ki damage and you can push his shit in when he's stunned too.

youtube.com/watch?v=QrSjxTYOa7g

Who Drops Writhing Tongues? I assume the long tongued fuckers?

It's the stupid purple miasma that hangs around. Also, the last one was pure bullshit, it was barely a crack on the ground but somehow a grown man can fall through a two inch crevasse.

I did that fight and I played keep away, it's fucking tedious but doable

All the ninjas who dress in all black are morons that's what they're going to be looking for.

>heavy

Does not seem too bad, killed him about as fast with a spear just a few min ago without any cheese.

Might just be shit player though since I did not even use an elixir on him, easiest samurai boss so far; he does not even block.

>you can rape opponents that are out of ki
Your point? Try pulling that shit on any non skeletal yokai or heavy armor revenants.

First english man to bang asian pussy

They will never see us coming

Nue recharged my spirit so fast that i summoned my bull 3 times just in that fight and completely wrecked it.

>using armor and weapons
>playing with both eyes open with a controller in one piece
High toughness makes fighting revenants a lot easier, I just let them wail on me till they run out of ki.

I have 50 points in heart and my sword only does 100 more damage than shit I have no stat scaling for.

They didn't even have to make him Irish because he came from Kent which was a Celtic nation in ancient Britain before the romans conquered the majority of ancient England therefore he could have had the Celtic guardian spirit without having been made Irish in the game. There is plenty of Celtic genes in the English.

It annoys because William Adams is an integral part of Japanese history. If he hadn't come Christianity wouldn't have been routed from Japan because Tokugawa Ieyasu wouldn't have learned that the Spanish and Portuguese were lying to him. But it doesn't surprise me that they are so inept because they are probably of a generation which are okatu instead of being educated.

Other than that I love the game.

How do you open the door right next to the shrine at the start of the bathhouse, the last kodama is behind it and i can't find my goddamn way in.

When do you get the empty hand parry? Also
>dying the get my haze back
>have to wait to get to the second region, and have one hundred thousand proficiency points with a sword, AND beat umibozou
Fuck whoever decided to set these dumb ass conditions, if I have the points let me buy my fucking moves, especially since William can just pick up techniques from reading/seeing/hearing about them. Fuck you, yes I mad.

Rough, at 50 body my spears are hitting for 800-900 on a mid stance strong attack + elemental damage.

Seems like they did not make many enemy AIs that can deal with the range of the pokes either, was thinking about respeccing since it seems kind of broken at the moment.

>Yasuke arrived in Japan in 1579 in the service of the Italian Jesuit Alessandro Valignano, who had been appointed the Visitor (inspector) of the Jesuit missions in the Indies, meaning East Africa, South and East Asia. He accompanied Valignano when the latter came to the capital area in March 1581 and caused something of a sensation.
>In one event, several people were crushed to death while clamouring to get a look at him, the Jesuits feared their church would be flattened but they managed to avert disaster. Nobunaga heard the noise from the temple where he was staying and expressed a desire to see him. Suspecting the black color of his skin to be black ink, Nobunaga had him strip from the waist up and made him scrub his skin.
>Satisfied that he was in fact black, Nobunaga seems to have taken a shine to him, and at some point, although when is not clear, he was either given (Japanese accounts indicate him presented to Nobunaga, although European accounts do not mention this) or allowed to enter Nobunaga's service.

It's at the bottom of the ninjutsu tree

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yasuke

>there was a black samurai that had Nobunaga's respect

How'd he get there before William Adams?

the more i read about nobunaga the more i understand where the modern japanese autism comes from.

Do you get the bear as a spirit? Would seem like an appropriate reward for taking down DMX-kun.

>since William can just pick up techniques from reading/seeing/hearing about them.

he cant. Its the reason you have to train under masters in the respective schools.

>umi-bozu
>15% of deaths from first three tries, memorizing his move-set
>85% of deaths from the 1-hit laser that has zero windup if he chains it after launching a boat part

It's the only reason I can't get past this fucking area. I just want to get away from this fucking map.
If Anons are generous, I'm gonna try again in about 10 minutes. Gonna give it a shot or two with some Visitors. Not gonna put a password on, but just spam your Whistle emote so I know it's one of you Sup Forumsaginas.

WE

Well, I feel like a retard.

Do the dojo masters drop smithing texts? I've been farming Ashikaga Yoshiteru for about an hour, and he hasn't given any texts yet.

Yasuke isn't as cool as Anjin because yasuke is a dirty nigger.

Beginning of the game faggot, when he's reading the sailor's journal.

Yes

Portuguese traders and Jesuit priests along with them were visiting Japan decades before Adams came and Yasuke was a servant of them, though Adams had far more influence due to his position in Tokugawa's staff.

Do you have any of those masks that spit fire? Try one.

Should I buy this for full price? I think I'll be skipping out on horizon

Okatsu's ass is flat, though.

BREAKING NEWS: White man is more influential than black man.

What a revelation!

that death laser was pissing me off until I figured out t o just stay in his face the entire time and he literally cannot fucking hit you.
Then 100% of my deaths were from falling of the fucking edge of the platform.

Yes don't support gorilla games they are trash. You should be ashamed for even considering buying horizon.

DIRTY LIES. Dem legs though.

I was disappointed that William didn't make any comments about him being black when he took his helmet mask off

Yo that's sick. Is it good for 1 katana players?

most people don't know this but irish people can't see the difference between black or white, they think they are black themselves.

William already saw enough big nigs

How Fun is this game?

Throw bomb

It's the big monks with the tounge attacks, and I think it's only on certain missions.

It's a tanky motherfucker spirit. Mostly good for axes.

>2kat revenants in low stance and heavy armor

>the laser actually does have a wind-up
>It's the black fog that shows up during grab attacks
>Can be seen clearly during the twilight but not the normal mission.
Half this game feels like the Tomb of the Giants. I know it's not my brightness, is there seriously no way to get take some light with you?
