Just finished Yakuza 0. Loved the game, definitely my favorite in the series. I thought the story on Majima's part was especially strong and his development great. One problem though is that going by the ending, I don't buy him becoming an absolute insane fuck by the time Y1 rolls. It just doesn't feel realistic at all. If only this game came first, they could have kept his crazy side more subtle as it was in this game.

There's like 5 years until Y1, he can definitely turn crazy in that time. He was the mad dog near the end anyway, her not knowing who he was pushed him over the edge.

That didn't push him to the edge. He stayed silent because he didn't want her to recognize him due to his voice. He didn't want to draw her into his world anymore. He was still somewhat normal by the end of 0, but also menacing. I just wish his character stayed that way. Much more interesting than just a crazy fuck

Is it just me or was Majima stronger than Kiryu in 0? His final bosses are harder narrative wise.

Majima was already deep into the gangsta life many years before Kiryu so it makes sense.

Is there a faster way to get through the special training on the cabaret club girls? They're the only substories left for Majima, and it's a pain to keep playing the minigame over and over after I've already finished everything and have more money than I need.

I'm in the same boat as you. I finished the game because I couldn't deal with that shit anymore. Now I want to go back and finish it so I can fight Amon, but thinking about it makes me not want to do it.

Funny OP, i felt exactly the same way.
Everything was really god apart from the characterisation at the end.
Majima is suddenly insane, and Kiryu suddenly wants to rejoin the yakuza, despite everything they have done to him and how much he hates them all.
He gives a speech to Kuze about how he would crush them all to the last man and then suddenly wants to join them.
Shits dumb.

Just unlocked the final substory fights at the bullring for both characters, this isnt really much fun, am i supposed to cheese this shit hard? because 100% super armor 100% of the time seems pretty cheap.

Counter with majimas legend style, makes it way easier. Kiryus is just awful, fuck the cannon and fuck the helicopter.

So the Yakuza games got a reprint apparently.

I jumped in at 4, said "oh this reminisce mode is good enough" but kept my eye out for used copies that weren't like $80 disc only (never saw any, and my computer's a toaster before you ask why I didn't just emulate.) and I guess nows the time. Would I be alright in picking up Kiwami when it drops later this year and then playing 2 afterwards or should I get both on PS2? Because I mean, I'm getting Kiwami either way.

Majima was already a beast at Kiryu's age as evidenced by the torture scene where he manages to beat up most of the guys sent to beat him up. He has 4 extra years on Kiryu and gameplay wise his moves are a lot more refined and graceful than Kiryu's

Man i just finished the game and the final scene with Majima and Makoto broke my heart. He could have grown into a man with a decent life if he spoke to her there, but she would probably never be safe. Such a bittersweet ending.
