It's okay.
It's the best Splinter Cell game of all time.
It's not like stealth games have gotten better since that game was released. Unless you think transforming a stealth game into an action game makes it a better "stealth" game.
this
and yes it is. great game.
absolutely
but everybody tells me that Dishonored 1 and 2 are the best stealth games in the current year
>in 2017
Is this an implication that games get worse over time?
Do go around thinking the stealth genre has innovated in the last 10 years or something? If anything it experienced a devolution.
OP the best stealth games of all time where made between 1998 and 2008.
Chaos Theory was the last video game to get stealth right.
The controls are solid, graphics are still good, multiple approaches to levels. It's everything you could ask for.
So, yes.
see I want to say even the graphics hold up but it has been a few years since I last played.
what about me?
Yeah. TDP is better though
>tfw about to start some of the fan missions for this tonight
>everything about that korean level
...
Used to play this as a kid and got fucked up badly.
I bought it again on Steam but have yet to play. I don't normally play stealth games, am I gonna get fucked up again? Or will my new understanding and practice with games in general pull me through?
DUN DUN DUN DUN DU DU DU DU DUN DUN
Admit it, Sup Forums, you tripped the laser on the way out of the safe, didn't you?
are these a pain in the ass to get nice feeling key bindings?
I DIDN'T KNOW IT COULD BE DISABLED
>The Maria Narcissa is a boat
>So was the last girl you set me up with
coop is great
I played CT first. Should i play the first two?, will they let me down in comparison?
this one is good too
The first one is great. CIA HQ might be the best SC level ever.
Na, but default ones are awkard
I wish there was a way to get the gen 6 Double Agent on PC, it was pretty much Chaos Theory with new levels
PS2 emulator? Although I think the PS2 version has edited levels.
>Controls are solid
>That horrid drop down menu for every interaction
nah senpai.
Nope. Outdated hot garbage that aged like spoiled milk. Time to hang up the old nostalgia, grandpa.
Fuck yes it is. I still can't think of a stealth game that's more satisfying.
>it was pretty much Chaos Theory with new levels
No it wasn't. That game was a huge letdown.
>gen 6
reading comprehension
...
Hey faggot, did the thought enter your head that I might be saying that the ps2 and AND the ps3 version were both fucking letdowns?
Always gotta be someone that takes the bait.
ya cause theyre both same game right?
>bait
Nah mate, The Phantom Pain has objectively better controls and stealth mechanics. Chaos Theory literally doesn't hold up anymore.
If I believed they were the same I wouldn't have made the distinction. I played them both when they came out and it was a huge fucking letdown that marked the overall decline of the series. God damn those nostalgia goggles must be comfy.
Literally best stealth action ever created on par with Thief. And if you think, that it aged bad - you fucking wrong.
But still, the ps2 version is way better than ps3
then be specific and say what you didnt like
they don't make em like this anymore bois
blacklist was fun too, I haven't gotten around to playing conviction yet but blacklist had fun coop missions
Yep, but still a very noticeable downturn from Chaos Theory.
It's been over ten years now but I remember that they hyped up the prison thing big time and it turned out to be a very small portion of the game, the story of edgelord Sam was lame and off-putting, the level design was lazy compared to Chaos Theory, and that god damn sudoku puzzle. I never said it was a shit game but there is no denying that it was a huge letdown.
Blacklist is actually pretty OK. Play it if you get the chance desu senpaitachi.
>it was pretty much Chaos Theory with new levels
it's like a shitty bootleg romhack version of chaos theory, it sucks
there's a problem with running it? i was playing it the other week and i remember a few years ago i was stuck near the end of the game where it would crash over and over until i found out i could no clip through the section
PC version is gen 7.
>That lightsaber
okie dokie
>better controls and stealth mechanics
Neither of those is even remotely true.
God damn did you not JUST see my post about not responding to bait
>Shitty drop down menus for everything are better controls
Go play some more outdated 20 year old games on gog and be rump rustled elsewhere.
should have bought it in 2010
>I've never even played it :^)
>Shitty drop down menus for everything are better controls
Better than what? contextual pictures for everything? MGSV does the exact same shit as splinter cell did when you're near something important, doofus.
Don't tell me who to reply to, bitchface.
Are the PS3 re-releases of the first three Splinter Cell's any good?
1st and pandora tomorrow is not the Xbox version which is the definitive version supposedly best shadow effects, and has missions that were cut from the PC/PS2 etc. ver
>interacting with objects in Chaos Theory was exactly the same as MGSV, and not complete sluggish dog shit...'cause pictures...
It's like you didn't even play these games. you're just a memer.
I haven't played the PS3 port but if it's based of the PS2 version do not get it.
The PS2 version is literally trash. I was put off the series for years after trying Splinter Cell on PS2. Maps were scaled down massivly, literally removed rooms and multiple paths and simplified levels. Cut them up to make them smaller, loading zones everywhere. Plus way worse graphics and performance.
I later tried it on PC, it was a much better experience on PC.
Also the Xbox version did have 3 extra levels, but they were released in a patch for the PC version as well. Lighting effects are fine on PC as well. But 2 has lightings problems on PC since they were done through some proprietary tech exclusive to cards of the day, though I think there are some mods to fix it now, the native Xbox version would still work fine out of the box though.
you can fix the lighting issues for 2
Gen 7 Double Agent wasn't that bad, except for the fucking missions in the terrorist base
Thats still the gen 7 version.
the PS3 HD remaster versions are ports of the PC versions
It's like you don't even think about the games before you post about them. They both use contextual controls, one uses text prompts, the other uses picture prompts. You can't possibly be this fucking retarded. Is there a dedicated "pick up plants" button? No, the prompt only appears when you're near one.
What a moron.
youtu.be
didn't know Fisher liked russian pop
>someone on Sup Forums posts Hi-Fi
>its not the one from newgrounds
youtube.com
Well this is a new one
the lead is long dead btw
don't forget to f your respecs
Your precious best stealth game evar!1's prompts are delayed, slow and retarded, just like your posts. Stealth games in 2017 don't have to be slow and retarded anymore just because you are.
it was too obvious
F
>Your precious best stealth game evar!1's prompts are delayed, slow and retarded,
Nope, they're instantaneous. It's like you become dumber by the post.
>delayed
nigero, what
This game will always be chads theory bc I misread it as a kid
