Fuck yes. I loved Donkey Kong 64 more than I loved Banjo-Kazooie, but we'll never see another one, because Nintendo won't allow it. They won't let anything steal Mario's thunder. Mario is the only Nintendo IP allowed to have 3D platformers now.

DK64 was a fun game, but the collectathon aspect is taken to such a ridiculous extreme that it would be fine to see how another company could approach it.

Not like Donkey Kong 64. Donkey Kong 64 had more in common with Banjo Kazooie than Donkey Kong Country. I'd rather see another Banjo Kazooie game than another 3D Donkey Kong game.

Retro has former Rare employees. Grant Kirkhope and David Wise also freelance work on video game soundtracks. I'm sure people would love to work on a new 3d Donkey Kong, but as was said, it's really Nintendo that's stopping that from happening.

That can't happen because Microsoft owns Rare now and Banjo-Kazooie is a Rare IP. NONE of the people who worked on Banjo-Kazooie work for Rare anymore, so even if it did happen, it wouldn't have the same soul. That's why Yooka-Laylee exists. It's basically the old team making a new Banjo-Kazooie without needing to go through Rare or Microsoft.

Retro is mostly Iguana Entertainment, unless they've picked up a few since then.

I want the movement of the kongs to be more agile and ape-like. Like Super Mario 64's movement, but expanded.

More polished and Not broken

Lose Chunky and Tiny, nobody liked them. Replace with Dixie and Funky. Lanky can stay because he's a meme.

Make it less of a collectathon and have more focus on skilled platforming and movement like the 2D games. Maybe something linear 3D like Mario 3D World would work well for Donkey Kong.

If they bring back K.rool then yeah.

DK64 Would actually be a pretty good game if you added the ability to swap Kongs without a barrel.
