It literally is just that. A n64 game for modern times. Plays the same. Has all the same issues. You are only mad because you realized how shit nostalgia is and are in damage control.
>BANJO HAD EMPTY SHIT LEVELS BUT ITS OKAY I LOVED IT THEN
you didn't think that till you read somebodies opinion on it. Regardless if it's true or not.
Liam Rodriguez
It's going to be okay. Maybe not as good as past 3D platformers but nothing I've seen is outright bad so far. The casino area admittedly could be a lot more lively though. If you can accept something that's just alright, I think you can enjoy it.
Jose Brown
Banjo was too uncanny Valley for me same with conker but I could enjoy the later as I grew up. It was mainly the graphics and how they acted it felt too off.
Yokalay has a similar feeling but felt more bright and cheerful and something I can get behind taking it as children's game. Still the bat creeps me out most furry shit does. My problem is that is seems too spacious and is gonna end up open world with tons of open room that feels like a chore to get around and waste of space. Some bit looks boring others seem fun, I don't really know how I feel about this. That said I probably prefer this to Banjo maybe not conker but definitely Banjo.
Robert Johnson
>A n64 game for modern times. >for modern times
Except it's not, considering it brings NOTHING new to the table to make it adeguate for modern times. It's a N64 games that due to the magic of Kickscammer came out in 2017.
Jack Gray
That's the whole fucking point. It isn't doing anything new. Learn to fucking read.
Brandon Nguyen
>uncanny valley you might want to look up what that phrase actually means.
Noah Rodriguez
Chinese bootleg banjo.
Evan Ramirez
Except made by the same people who made the original.
Nolan Bell
WAHHHHHH WHY CANT THEY MAKE GAMES LIKE THEY USED TOOO WAHHHHHHH
YOOKER LAYER WHY IS EVERYTHING SO BIG AND EMPTY LIKE THE OLD GAMES WAHHHH WAHHH WAHHHHHH
ITS THE SAME SHIT BUT ALL I CAN DO IS BITCH AND COMPLAIN AND MOVE GOALPOSTS WAHHHH
nostalgia sure is fun :^)
Ethan Hernandez
>used in reference to the phenomenon whereby a computer-generated figure or humanoid robot bearing a near-identical resemblance to a human being arouses a sense of unease or revulsion in the person viewing it.
Furry/animal looking humans freak me out
Though some stuff like tom and Jerry don't as much
Thomas Morgan
>you didn't think that till you read somebodies opinion on it. Regardless if it's true or not.
Do you want to see my N64 collection? I played both BK and BT as a kid (also DK64, and more). BK is the best out of those, hands down. It has the best balance, and the levels are not empty shit.
I liked BT as a kid but now I never replay it because it's not good enough, it's too big and sparse and not fun to play. YL seems to go for the same kind of level design that made BT a chore to play. Also too many gimmicks, I wonder who the fuck thought it was a good idea to make them include minecart segments, they were shit in DK64 (I really want to know who the fuck found those segments fun) and are going to be shit here too.
TL;DR this is a rehash of Tooie which is not a good game.
Aiden Gonzalez
As someone who actually backed the Kickstarter, that's all I'm expecting it to be.
All they promised was a nostalgia driven N64 game in 2017. All anyone wanted was a nostalgia driven N64 game in 2017. If you don't like it that's fine but you might as well be complaining that it isn't an FPS game. It's exactly what was promised, which is exactly what everyone's expecting it to be, because that's exactly what everyone asked for.
Levi Martin
>it's another "user is angry he didnt back it so he shitposts and says I DIDNT WANT IT ANYWAY LOL IT IS SOULLESS XDD" post looks fine to me user. do you play games for the graphics?
Ryder Lopez
the textures and level design look pretty shitty in this vid, but its also a casino level
im going to wait and see other levels but yeah its a hard type of game to be hyped for when so much can go wrong.
Daniel Roberts
>>it's another "user is angry he didnt back it so he shitposts and says I DIDNT WANT IT ANYWAY LOL IT IS SOULLESS XDD" post
>implying I won't pirate it with all the backer goodies included
Camden Russell
TROWZAH'??
Levi Martin
I thought the mine cart sections were based on DKC mine carts. The DK64 ones were annoying, but they're not recreating that.
Ethan Barnes
Key word: "near-identical". Banjo is so obviously a cartoony caricature of a bear, Uncanny Valley does not apply.
Shit like Tarkin in Rogue One is Uncanny Valley.
William Reyes
Yeeeessss???
Nathaniel James
....But you're a snake.

Xavier Russell
Outdated game design.

>all this defending >yooka laylee comes out >it turns out to be shit and Sup Forums hates it
Adam Lopez
ill still draw porn of it and people will jack off to it so i always win
Joshua Reed
Huh, dont know what I expected out of the game but im disappointed anyway. Ill just replay BK for the 50th time.
Parker Harris
>it turns out to be and Sup Forums hates it

Kevin Foster

Ian Stewart

Jose Wilson
Sounds like you are really mad just because the game in't a scam/flop. Not every game is TORtanic, nor do we want it to be, newfriend
Benjamin Scott
? >you say A isnt B >we say we all wanted A, nobody expected B wew intelijunc
Gabriel Parker
These were always my least favourite type of platformers a kid. Not so much actual platforming instead a large focus on killing rooms full of baddies, with shit, unsatisfying combat. Awful
Lincoln Martinez
Outside of Goldeneye which was an incredible game at the time but fairly unplayable today Rare never made an actual fun game. They were great on the technical level but never could make a game that was actually enjoyable.
Noah Thomas

Gavin Gonzalez
>but on top of all the flaws BT already had
The fuck? We hatin on BT now?
Kayden Clark
Their NES games were trash. DKC looked impressive but sucks as a platformer compare to other 16 bit platformers. And their N64 games where pretty much trying to copy Mario 64 but boring in almost every way and just not funny.
Fight me faggot
Jackson Torres
I think exoandable worlds and nonlinear new moves are adding to the genre.
