>no analogue shoulder buttons

$80

Well there is always the GCN adapter
>2017
>still no analogue triggers
This is one of the most disappointing things about the Switch's controllers, both Pro and Joycons.
>you'll never get the privilege of re-purchasing games you already own
Is this really what nintendrones look forward to?
So you think that the Switch should be backwards compatible with the Gamecube? A 14 year old console?
I think if you really want to play gamecube games you should just use your fucking gamecube
Dolphin is far superior to the original hardware
> A software is far superior to the original hardware.
Try building a PC with the same price as the GameCube and see how far superior it really is.
If you own a decent PC, why would you buy consoles at all? Especially a nintendo console, given that they can all be emulated.
The thing is, a PC can be used for things besides gamecube games.
They said that there will be other joycons so I assume it's in the works. It is a pretty dumb oversight though and the third generation in a row that they have left it out.
Pretty much confirms that they won't have any driving simulators
You can play with both joycons
He's saying that ZR and ZL aren't analogue
>All these fucking accessories and doodads
it's like the n64 and it's dumb fucking controller paks.
So where's the source that they have no analog?
I'm pretty sure there were a ton of leaks about getting a GC virtual console though
Many eyewitness reports from the Switch events last month (including my own; I was at one of them). Neither the Joycons nor the Pro Controller have analog triggers.
Did they not have any resistance?
>80 dollars for a controller
Nintendo JUST FUCK MY SHIT UP
Can confirm, went to switch event and it's more like a squish
>m-muh analog shoulder buttons
>which all of 2 games used on the GC anyways
No. They're just buttons.
Just buy the brand new Gamecube styled JoyCons for only $80 when they come out!
Try playing gamecube games at 4x native resolution with AA on a gamecube.
Then try playing steam games on it.
do you see why what you asked was weak?
Are they a squish or a hard tap??
Squish = Analog
Hard tap = Digital
Smash, Sunshine and Mansion all used them. That's like half the games you'd even want emulation for right there.
Oh my god stupid tripfag get it through your head, everybody's saying they are obviously not analog, it doesn't matter the word they use for it
what does "analogue" mean for shoulder buttons?
Gamecube doesn't deserve a Virtual Console, honestly.
This
why not?
It isn't a single press. It's pressure sensitive, like the triggers on an Xbox controller.
Pretty important for certain games but nintendo keeps leaving it out
how many games actually used that? everything I remember playing worked the same mashing down the shoulder buttons
because its gay and shit and sucks ass
Mario Sunshine is the only game I can think of.
don't lie
it's somewhat important for driving games and certain GameCube games that used the gimmick (Sunshine, Melee come to mind) but it's not the end of the fucking world if the triggers aren't analog
Gamecube doesn't have any games worth having VC releases for, honestly.
GameCube is too low resolution for any tv that's been out in like 10 fucking years you dork. You can't even plug it into anything.
Mario Sunshin, Luigi's Mansion, a lot of games where R and L function as camera buttons.
Additionally, every driving simulator ever.
You mean the literally 1 controller audition anybody used? Get lost kid
Why the fuck do you want GC vConsole in a world where Dolphin emu exists? Do you like getting ass fucked?
It's not but it basically means they're already rejecting something that a couple publishers can benefit from.
My guess is that they find it inconsequential thanks to motion controls
Wow OP... really makes you think
A new controller for every game? Genius!
of course! i'm selling them for $500 dollars each, if you'd like one :^)
2 controllers. If they sell them by themselves eventually, it'll be $40 a pop.
>If
>He doesn't know
They're $50 individually
>smash
>air ride
>skies of arcadia
>soul calibur 2
>f-zero
>star fox assault
>phantasy star online (if possible)
>all with portability and local multiplayer anywhere
it's literally perfect for the switch
>inb4 "lel for 2 hours"
>right joy con has more tech inside than left
>they cost the same
>smash
Absolutely not.
>air ride
Good game, but doesn't really deserve a VC release.
>skies of arcadia
Dreamcast game.
>soul calibur 2
Was on PS2 and Xbox as well.
>f-zero
It killed the series, so no.
>star fox assault
Absolutely not.
>phantasy star online (if possible)
Dreamcast game.
>f-zero gx killed the series for being too good
this will never not be completely baffling to me
What crack are you on user there are shoulder buttons
This, jesus christ. The gamecube was and is still a great console to play games on. You don't even have to spend hundreds of dollars on one.
>smash
Why not? You don't even give a reason. Melee is seen as the best competitive smash game ever made and having it on the go like that would be a blast for parties or just college kids hanging out in common areas. On top of that, you get a system playing it with a digital output so it actually can run on newer TVs for tournaments without it being a total clusterfuck.
>air ride
Well now we've obviously hit just you throwing out opinions on what you would bother rebuying and not if it deserves it. Fantastic fucking game and would love to get to play city trial where everyone can have their own screen, they could do like they did with Pokemon and redo the connectivity stuff simulate the LAN connections.
>skies of arcadia
I don't actually know this game and can't comment
>soul calibur 2
Fun fighting game, and the other versions don't have playable Link.
>F-Zero
Best F-Zero game of all time was GX and again, they can redo the connectivity stuff so everyone can fucking play together and it would be fantastic.
>star fox assault
Again, didn't bother to play this one the first time so no comment
>phantasy star online
If they can get it to work I could sink a few hundred hours into this and the improved network features of more modern consoles would be a blessing.
An R press is an R press. You can't say it's only a half.
But Climax was the last game to come out.
>Absolutely not.
Yeah and you're absolutely a faggot.
>PS4 and Xbone library literally 80% remasters
Almost nothing outside of racing games even uses analog triggers, so not a big loss imo. I'm more upset about PS4 dropping analog buttons.
Half the gamecube library uses them you dip.
Retard, it's one full controller for $80
Or they'll sell you half a controller for $50.
Jewtendo does it again.
>nintendo only release 2 colors of the 3DS in North America because retailers couldn't stock that many different SKUs
>now they have a thousand different SKUs for switch accessories
sasuga, nintendo
Are you actually retarded?
>no analogue shoulder buttons
Oh, you mean that feature only the Gamecube ever had?
Are you legitimately dumb or is that b8?
whoever thought this was a good idea, they look so difficult to hold
sure you can, you just gotta buy an adapter from last gen that lets you plug in controllers from 3 gens ago
because that's how technology and progress works
The Switch can barely run Wii U ports you think it'll emulate GC games?
You mean besides the fact that the wii and wii u were literally an overclocked gamecube?
>hack wii
>load GC roms
>???
>profit
>this again
Are analog triggers really so important on any GC game for every controller after it to absolutely need them? can't they just have pressure sensitive digital triggers?
Ps4 controllers are $99.95, goyim.
>can't they just have pressure sensitive digital triggers?
aka analogue triggers
Are they actually pressure sensitive though? Would their sensitivity only be useful with how are a button is pressed as opposed to maintaining a certain amount of pressure?
I notice you can't explain why those games shouldn't get VC releases.
Dreamcast garbage and shit franchises don't deserve it.
We already have too many kirby games.
Have you considered that maybe GX was bad?
>Why not?
Because Nintendo wants it to fucking die already.
>Air Ride
There's no incentive for them to throw a game on the VC that didn't sell the first time around.
>Best F-Zero game of all time was GX and again
The best F-Zero game was the original. It was the most masterfully-designed.
>But Climax was the last game to come out.
In Japan.
Will they make a left one with a real Dpad
That's all that really matters
can someone explain to me what analog shoulder buttons are and why they are important?
PSO and Skies of Arcadia are garbage? You're objectively wrong user
>I'm never going to get to re-purchase my Gamecube games, am I?
Why don't you still have them?
And doesn't Dolphin run Gamecube games anyway?
>GX was bad
this is one of the highest levels of bullshit I've ever seen in this board
Pressure sensitivity, that's all.
Was it used? Yes, in some games.
Is it vital? No, but some titles like GX, for example, will suffer a bit for not having the same degree of control you had before.
The games can be played anyway.
I had my n64 video plugged into my new tv and ran the audio theough my sound system
worked pretty well
>>no analogue shoulder buttons
Like. I am as sad as the next guy at how this makes the idea of playing Gamecube games on the Switch much less likely.
That siad. Analogue shoulder buttons were a mistake from the get go. I thought so back in the Gamecube days and I still think so now. I even bought new shoulder buttons for my PS3 controller so that I could get regular buttons.
We're just facing the consequences from how anaologue shoulder buttons never were a good idea to begin with.
Hopefully they will make the Gamecube adapter compatible with the system though.
...
That's beyond the point.
>not having a wii u for perfect wii and gamecube backwards compatibility
Emulated games don't run so good. Well, some of them.
No, you missed the entire point. What I mean is a PC with GameCube price can't run Dolphin just as well as the original hardware so: compare software to hardware is just stupid.
>half of a controller is retailing for 50 burger bux
Ninty is really off the deepend huh?
KeK
>this amazing technology
>comes with HD rumble
>bad
