March 3rd Anxiety

Who here is going to buy a Nintendo Switch on the third with no pre order
what is your plan?

My plan is to not buy a console with no games

My plan was to sell two of my three preorders for $500 each and get the third one in from Amazon.

Now I'm just sitting back and waiting for Amazon.

My plan is to walk into Gamestop and buy it. If ita sold out there ill try best buy and target and walmart. If those places dont have it i will go home and wait for a restock because i'm not a mentally ill manchild that has anxiety over a toy thats three weeks away

My plan is to play BOTW on my Wii U with no worries at all.

Also you are underage or a man child if you get anxiety over whether or not you will get a console on release day. If you are over the age of 18 and this is what you worry about then you need to reassess your life.

>He didn't attend to based GameStop's event last weekend.

This, plus I'll get one next year with a Mario Odyssey bundle.

>My plan is to play BOTW on my Wii U with no worries at all.
>buying the shit version of a game

I really could care less I'm not buying a switch for one game already did that with the Wii U which was dumb but I stick to my guns. I don't like anything about the switch. I will wait until it has worthwhile games that aren't available on a platform I already own.

>I'm not buying a switch for one game
Can we stop with this shit? No one buys a Nintendo console for one game.

There are two groups
1. Casual consumers who buy it for a multiple of reasons. Their kids, a gimmic, they think they should
2. Loyal nintendo fags that buy it for the 15-25 good first party games a console has. Games with mario and zelda mainly

>missing all the splatfests and mario kart matches

>wake up a little early
>hit the only small time video game store left in the tri city area
>if they're sold out, hit the mega Walmart that's way out of the way of the college kids
>if they're sold out I've got a list of five other nearby stores that are also getting switches

Then go home and buy BotW and browse the eshop until it downloads

Consumerism at its finest.

Glad that idiots like you fall for every new piece of tech so that you continue to fill pockets of smart dudes.

>did all the splatfests and mario kart matches already on Wii U

Not missing SHIT. Those two games are literally for people who didn't get a Wii U.

>tfw I'll be playing Splatoon for free with japs while you niggers are on Splatoon 2 for a fee playing against normies because of switch commercials

>Buying the first version of a nintendo handheld
>At launch
Neither of these are good ideas.

Fuck off tripfag

The right stick looks so uncomfortable, even moreso in all the pictures of people using it.

Yet everyone who has had hands-on time says it's totally fine.

>believing Nintendo when they say they will keep the servers open
>implying the wont shut the wii u servers down sometime thisbyesr to force splatoon/smash and mario kart fags to buy a switch

servers will be up until 2020.

Wii/DS servers were shut down because GameSpy, the service running the servers, went bankrupt and bought by some Chinese fags.

>not a manchild
>willing to drive across town and spend hours going to 4 different stores to get a toy

Sure thing pal

>>believing Nintendo when they say they will keep the servers open
no reason to shut them down
hardly anyone owns a Wii U anyways so they wouldn't gain much by forcing people to move to switch

>servers will be up until 2020.
I know trip fags aren't intelligent but this is a new level of stupid.

Wii and DS were up until 2014 despite being owned by gamespy

That looks different than the Switch they originally unveiled. The buttons and plastic are now all one color.

A lot of people who go out of their way to go to demos like that, then come back to report about it are fanboys.

I remember when people said the 3ds dpad wasn't be uncomfortable to use.

>those people who paid $250 for a launch model 3DS

>no reason to shut them down
>hardly anyone owns a Wii U anyways so they wouldn't gain much by forcing people to move to switch

By your logic thats even more reason to shut them down. No reason to keep servers open for "hardly anyone"

But 13 million is a lot of consoles. If shutting down servers get a few thousand people to SWITCH then it was worth it. regardless its happening. Nintendo is done with the wii u

I think it's the model that comes with the devkit.

>regardless its happening.
no it isn't

one of the Splatoon guys said servers would stay open

you're retarded

I regret not preordering

You could have just made that post in this thread since its about the same thing instead of making a thread and advertising it here you fat virgin

>someone at nintendo said something so its true

Calm down

generally how things work

Big business is usually truthful. Stay in your little bubble user

>walk into a gamestop and buy it

how will this work if every gamestop sold out of preorder units?

Not him, but nintendo has directly lied about people to prevent consumers from doing things they don't want before.

Like when they came out and said there were no plans for any 3ds hardware revisions in the future, two weeks before they announced and then almost immediately after released the 3ds xl.

Unless nintendo can directly show me what they are saying is true, I don't trust them.

Former store manager, for a lot of things we would get units in excess of preorders, but not a lot.

That's what people line up for, but it's smart to ask the store if they will have excess units before launch day, typically no more than a few days before, to save yourself time if they won't.

I did and got 20 free games for it. I mean, only like 8 of those games were good but hey, free games are free games

I can't justify buying it for one game. Monster hunter would probably make me break that rule, but as it is, i'll just wait to see what else is in store for the switch. Though in my country i doubt they'll be sold out on march 3rd. I remember seeing people post photos of a bunch of those new NES they released on stores while it was sold out in every other country

weren't most of them NES and SNES games?

You got 20 games because you paid $80 more than everybody who just waited a few months after launch.

That's the cost.

>You win the privilege to spend your money on a toy
>not just waiting a few months for the inevitable price drop and plethora of playable vidya

A lottery to fucking pre-order? Is that real?

I had thought this was to win a free Switch. But its literally just to pre-order it? Wtf?

My plan is to just walk in and buy it, just like I did with the Wii-U.

Going to the midnight launch unfortunately, I wanted to go the next day but sister wants to go and as a nice brother I'm taking her. Hopefully not as bad as the Sun/Moon midnight launch

>Literal manchild sits next to me and my friends, starts talking to us
>We're nice, talk back
>Gets the children's toy Z-ring
>Tries to put it on his fat arm and show it off to us
>Naturally being both a childs toy and his arm being flabby he doesn't fit
>He starts loudly complaining about it
>Keeps bringing it up for the rest of the night

Hope you sold them already (and your buyers don't cancel on you) because scalped Switches aren't worth anywhere near $500 anymore. You're lucky if you can get $400

This is like in Japan, where you can enter into a lottery to have the ability to buy a rare toy/variant/collectible item. As opposed to fist come first serve.

In this case, you just win the ability to buy something that'll be readily available eventually? (and probably with a price cut like the 3DS)

And it was worth it.

>fighting through the crowds of Best Buy employees to find the stack of WiiUs sitting with a layer of dust despite it being release day
The absolute madman!

I remember when I got a WiiU, there was no one in the store trying to get one. They had the whole shipment locked up in a cage at the front of the store with an employee posted there as a guard that refused to talk like they were some kind of bouncer. I had to talk to some one else and get a piece of paper that acted as a voucher, and take that to checkout where they would then fetch the system for me. They were really agitated and kept asking me which games and which accessories I wanted because "I only get one turn"

I saw no one else trying to get one, but these fuckers were trained hard.

My plan:
First some backstory
>live in small town (about 15 000) in northernwestern canada
>not an igloo thanks for asking
>local Walmart got 8 xbones at launch

So I'm going to show up on the 3rd at 2am, grab a switch at 8 and go to work at nine, come home at 6 and have 3 days off to jerk a virtual dick with the Hd rumble feature

If you can't find the console anywhere, you can buy it from a scalper.

OR

Get this

OR

Wait 3 weeks for the next shipment.

This is the world of Nintoddlers going apeshit over artificially scarce consoles.

>Wait 3 weeks for the next shipment.
OR

Nintendo could just have more consoles availible at launch

No

>Shit version of the game
Tell that to Twilight Princess GCN > Wii fans

This, fucking seriously. The only people who have gotten to use this thing are people who like Nintendo shit enough to travel and or spend hours in line to play on it for 10 minutes. There is no world where the Joycons are comfortable to use for anything more than visual novels.

Not the same retard

>trip fag
That guy is just using a name though.

I managed to get a preorder from Best Buy but for some reason store pickup wasn't an option so it has to be delivered.

I'm anxious that I'll miss the delivery guy or he'll somehow fuck it up or someone will steal the package off of the porch.

I can't get excited for any Nintendo console anymore. Then again I don't think I can get excited for anything these days.

>mfw waiting for Switch XL

I'm going to walk into a gamestop and ask if they have any. If they say no I'm going to ask if any stores within 20 miles. If they say no then I'll go home and play one of the hundreds of video games I have bought and never played.

Why don't you faggots just call up to the stores before driving? I mean sure gamestop might be jews about calling up, but I don't see why it would be a problem with Best Buy/Target/any other store that sells electronics/video games.

REEEE WHERE IS THE RESTOCK NINTENDO

Because its a waste of time. Just go and see for yourself.

I called walmart to try and get a pre order. They said they had them. Went down there snd they were like oh sorry that stopped a couple weekends ago.

Granted, my mistake for listening to the woman on the phone,as women know nothing and are never helpful. I should of just asked for the man of the house. Or well of walmart

This is why I pre-order and buy consoles at launch.

To be fair, it's Walmart. The employees hate the company, their job, and don't have much work ethic or else they wouldn't be a 40 year old working in a Walmart. I wouldn't trust a Walmart employee to tell me the time of day.

I would like to think that Best Buy or maybe Target employees aren't as shitty and maybe a little more honest.

Why is this people wait a bit and order on Amazon ? Da fuck y'all running around town for.

Why spend so much money to play one game then wait a year for the next game? Y'all stupid as fuck throwing ya money down the drain

Also I should say I do this with video games all the time, but never with a console. I dont think I've ever had a console on release night, always get them a few months to a year after it comes out.

You would be wrong. I don't know about bestbuy but target doesn't know what they have until it's been processed off the truck. This time of year that happens two or three times a week and you don't know what is on there. Then you get there and find out the inventory system takes a while to catch up but it doesn't matter because we got two and sold them already.

>No one buys a Nintendo console for one game.
What about the people who bought a Wii just for the "best version" of Twilight Princess?
Hell, there's a fuckton of people who said that BOTW not being launch day would've caused them to cancel their Switch preorder

Maybe if all they are doing is lookin in the system, but shit they just gotta check the shelf for you, takes them like 2 minutes.

>tegra
>battery
>controller for tiny supple shota hands
>not a handheld

bullshit, it's a portable/handheld you can plug into your TV

just watch the reveal and how much emphasis they put on taking the "video" out of "video games"

It takes two minutes to walk to the backroom and unlock the electronics cage to check because you've been stuck at the fucking boat for two hours straight trying to sell credit cards to retards buying tvs and haven't had time to restock anything.

Shit are you trying to make a sale or not?

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nintendo_Switch

>"The Nintendo Switch is an upcoming video game console developed by Nintendo, and the company's seventh major home console. Originally known in development as the NX, it was officially unveiled on October 20, 2016 and is scheduled for release worldwide on March 3, 2017."

Depends if I think you're simple minded enough to save five percent today by signing up for a redcard.

lol i have to go shopping with my gf anyway

Not happening this time unless the 48 hour hold expires, my dude. They're ALL preorders for EVERY district. District manager here.

Fuck yes if you got switch in the back, you have a deal. I ain't getting that shit without one though. The time it takes to sign up for this redcard the day of would still be better than sitting in line on release night.

luckily I'm excellent about not using credit cards and would just never use that

So anons. For those of us without pre orders, when will i be able to get this fucking thing

On one hand i live in australia and preorders haven't sold out here yet

On the other hand I also won't be getting a switch until christmas period when the inevitable $400 mario odyssey bundle comes out

Whenever they send the 2nd shipment I guess. Whenever that is.

Everything about this whole thing points to it being a soft launch, so anywhere from the day after to two weeks depending on the supply chain and demand.

>soft launch
What does that mean?

Are you going to camp out overnight for a Switch?

my plan is to buy Breath of the Wild on the Wii-U (the console it was designed for)

And my plan is to wait until that piece of shit handheld gets good games. Because I will be damned if I get fucked by Nintendo again.

Mario doesn't cut it. 1 good exclusive on your console isn't enough. Splatoon 2 is a literal rehash port of Splatoon 1. So automatically it doesn't count.

The only way in hell I will ever buy a Switch is if there is Mario (which we got) a Metroid, a NEW Mario Kart, and a NEW Smash Bros.

So I probably won't be getting a Switch for another 2-3 years.

It's not the grand opening. It's like when Japan would get the console first with two games and broken everything and by the holiday we would have a half decent library of shit and working online. The next couple months aren't the focus, so sales aren't as important as getting shit working and having stores ordering steady supplies of consoles instead of being cautious after the wii u.

>what is your plan?
I don't have 330 + 70 + 30 € to spend on something which isn't a video game.

Buy BotW on Wii U and not spend 300 bucks. It's going to suck not playing the Splat2n test fire but I'll live till it actually releases.

Standing in line for a month
outside of the Nintendo store in NY.

You sound falseflaggingly autistic m8.

It's called being homeless user.

Gba fire emblem killed alot of bus rides for me, so super worth it

I over payed a scalper on ebay because i'm fucking desperate
