P4 is terrible and I can't believe I'm going to defend it but in both 3 and 4 your character starts as average and everyone only gets on your dick when you accomplish things on the plot AND raises your relationshil stats (charisma, smarts, looks)

I don't know if people conveniently ignore that or they just didn't get the message that if you apply yiurself hard you fan be liked and successful.

I know otakus do forget that. They just keep self inserting ss the hero with the maximum stats and ignore all the work they did to reach that point and never realizing they could do the same irl
