Any PC converts find it impossible to go back and play consoles? At least seventh generation consoles?

Playing Resident Evil 6 on 360 was torture. If this is how people experienced the game then no wonder it gets undeservedly shit on constantly. Metal Gear Rising was actually more difficult to play and felt like I was stuck in mud. The visual hit the 360 version took of some earlier games like FEAR is criminal. PC port of Vanquish soon I hope. As you can see I mostly like action games, and it feels good using any controller you want to play them. Also have a fighting stick for shmups and a wheel for driving games. Its the best.

It was hard as fuck convincing me to leave because I didn't want to lose my "gaming career" (achievement points) but it was worth it. The community, while smaller, is much more helpful, and while emulation is not 100% netplay with PS2 and Gamecube emulators on games that do work (like Resident Evil Outbreak) is so much fun and the higher resolution gives you an appreciation for the small details in the games that you didn't notice on your dollar store CRT. Finally trying different hardware configurations is like a game unto itself, its great.

Basically I can't play 360 anymore without it feeling more outdated than the original Xbox somehow it sucks I bought all these damn games.

>tv isn't three times the size of pc monitor

Misleading image

I play most of my games on the PC if I have the choice, but I don't have any fundamental issues with consoles. Sure the hardware limitations suck, but on the other hand good console games are actually designed for consoles, with those limitations in mind. And I'm not one of those Sup Forumsirgins who lose their shit when they can see the pixels in a wall texture.

I can't justify spending money on video games or video game consoles so I can't do console gaming

You're right, it really depends on the game. If the PC version was botched terribly I do play it on console. And as far as the PS4/One goes I can play games on them fine, but its weird how outdated the PS3/360 feel already.

>its weird how outdated the PS3/360 feel already
It's weird that 12 years old technology feels outdated?

I still use my PS3 pretty often, but it's just a fighting game machine to me. I don't really use it otherwise. Everything else I will play on my PC save for a few console exclusive JRPGs. I tried playing other types of games on consoles before, and the frame drops I would get in some games gave me some of the biggest headaches in the world, and most of the time there's nothing I could do to fix it like changing the graphics settings.

Eh, not really. Depends on the game I guess. I had a lot of fun with my old 360 but those times are gone. I don't have any regrets.

I do find it very hard to go back.
Playing Dark Souls again on PS3 was absolutely horrendous, even though I didn't feel anything wrong with it the first time around.
I can still play fine on Vita though.

I can play console games, but I avoid them like the plague. Unless it's something amazing like bloodborne, I'm not going to playing it too much. Low frame-rate and resolutions lower than the tv are bothersome

>good console games are actually designed for consoles
except that they are not. Dev still focus on the graphics meme, and because of it most console games are 30fps, even fast paced ones

>Tv's aren't big monitors with a channel tuner nowadays

Life long PC Master Race here, I borrowed a PS3 from a relative a couple weeks ago. Trying to play anything with a controller is a fucking nightmare. I don't know how people put up with this shit, nevermind play FPS games with it. I'm about to drop ICO, an ex I've wanted to play since forever, because fuck dying all the time due to retarded controls.

I'm not even talking about graphics, ICO is obviously PS2 port, but while the game itself seems great, everything about actually playing it feels horrible.

What controller do you use on pc? I've been using ds3 for years now I'm it's pretty good.

>>tv isn't three times the size of pc monitor
But my TV is my PC monitor. Well, one of them at the very least.

I don't use a controller on PC user.

I'm a convert, I can't play anything under 1080p, graphics have spoiled me. Although emulation is there, I need emulation for ps3 and 360. Even if the emulation runs at shit framerate, I just can't stare at 720p without loosing any motivation to play.

Portable systems however work in 720p. I'd much rather stream a 720p game to a portable, but all require an external controller. I hope the switch can support Nvidia stream seeing as it is Nvidia's chip.

I can't even justify playing the ps3 I own any longer.

wait, are PC gamers still playing on monitors?

I'm a convert from 360, but my best times gaming were spent playing Soul Calibur 5 and Halo 3 on it. I have nothing but fond memories of those times, but I don't see myself buying another console unless a new Soul Calibur comes out.

do they include remotes for monitors these days?

I'm wanting a multi HDMI output for my new monitor so I can have Xbox One and PC on it.

Ultimately I'll be using a three monitor set up. One TV, with HDMIx2 for PC and Xbox, and then two actual monitors, again one for the PC and Xbox, and then one dedicated for the PC.

Any tips? This is going to be my first time doing a set up like this. I haven't had a PC since the Intel Core 2 Duo was top of the line, so I don't even know what SLI is.

fighting games/fps are better in monitors for low input lag.

open world games are better in big tvs.

So your saying you either don't play 2d platformers and 3rd person action games or you play'em like a retard?

I have played all the soul calibur games, but skipped last gen. I have missed out on SCIV and V, and desperately want to play them, but I just can't in 720p. I would buy a PS4 in a heartbeat if they had even ports of these in 1080p, but since they don't I'm never buying a PS4.

PC gamers only care about

Bench marking hardware
Rig building
Fps count
Resolution
Technical detail of games

They don't even play video games anymore, just buy games to test their performance, take a couple of screenshots and never run them again.

The sad truth is that you are basically buying an expensive machine to PLAY MULTIPLATS and INDIE GAMES.
There are no good games on PC that can't be run by the average toaster. Don't fall for the meme

Get back to your pc scraps

i have my pc attached to LCD TV and somehow still end up in first place in every single session in Deathmatch Classic.

Must be doing something wrong

p.s. modern ones support "no postprocessing/PC mode" to minimize the lag, effectively making it any less different from an LCD monitor

Was a nintendo+PC up until the switch.
Loved the combo of good and fun games coupled with PC power.
The switch's paid online coupled with zelda having DLC on release made me feel like waiting for the emulator to come out in 5 years.

Playing on 1440p 144hz 4ms IPS 27" gaming monitor is so fucking amazing. I can't even go back to normal PC monitors, let alone shitty consoles. The great amount of variety is also very nice.

*tips petition*

I'm able to switch between console and PC gaming regularly, but will admit that 7th gen games look much better on PC, so I play those era of games on PC.
And like some of the anons stated on the thread, it really depends how well the game runs. Rise of the Tomb Raider looks amazing on PC but heard that Arkham Knight ran like doghsit so I got it for my PS4 instead.

I'm with most memers and declare 2 to be the highpoint. 3 had cool ideas and bad ideas and it suffered from that memory card deletion glitch which thankfully never happened to me but I bought a separate card for it after awhile just because I figured I was pressing my luck.

As far as Namco goes I can't believe we don't have a Ridge Racer on PS4 either. Every single Playstation launched with a Ridge Racer, even PSP and Vita, and instead we just got delayed Driveclub, one of the most soulless games I've ever played.

But I play games all the time. And a lot of old console to PC ports WERE awful, so I play them on their respective consoles. Last two games I ran on PC were Resident Evil 7 and Forza Horizon 3 and I have about 30 hours in both. About done with Resident Evil 7 for awhile though. Its gonna be one of those every year replays I can feel.

I have a 40in 60Hz TV for my PC, and considering to buy a monitor. I sit about 3 feet from my TV, but would 27in monitor look better at 2 feet away than 40in 3 feet? What is the optimal monitor size, so that even 720p games look good.

60" with low input lag and motion blur.

I have nothing against consoles, but I'm not really interested in console games.
Most of the games I play are RPGs and FPS games and those are pretty much unplayable on consoles.
I suppose it's great if you're into third person action or racing games though.

I have been a PC master race for a very long time now, but when Nintendo releases the dedicated handheld successor to 3ds, I will pick it up so I can game on the go and in bed. Fuck the switch and its 2hours battery and shitty gimmicks. I didn't buy 3ds and ds because of the gimmicky shit. GBA was godtier.

All I want is 720p-1080p, 12+hours battery life, dedicated gaming handheld no gimmicks, free online.

>motion blur
I currently use this for 720p games for TV, but smaller screen = more pixel density. Woudn't that look far better?

If I were to upgrade my monitor what is the best way to go? It seems like 1440 and 4k are both around the same price.

I don't think I'll be able to play modern games at 4k with any respectable performance. But if I ran them at 1440 would it look worse? What about regular ass 1080p content, I have loads of that, paid for and (((acquired))), how would it look on 4k, how would it look at 1440?

Displays are getting too complicated.

not if it's chroma 4:4:4, that's literally the highest density you're going to get. honestly, mine's only 4:2:0 but i don't notice it from the couch

1440p 144hz 4ms IPS 27" gaming monitor is the best, trust me on this one. Fuck 4k.

I can't stand playing consoles anymore because of the low frame rate desu.

PC gaming is mostly kayboard and mouse oriented. That lets you turn and look faster, and aim much easier.

On the other hand, using amcontroller requires actual skill, and often practice.

PC gaming is easy mode, user. You've dulled your senses to the point of needing that crutch, and calling the only cure a bad thing.

Its not that its hard to go back, its just that my t420 can pirate and play any non-exclusive from last gen on console level settings. There's no reason for me to.

shit bait

But I only use keyboard when forced to, I prefer to play with controller.

I don't play multiplayer because I have a job.

This is retarded. It's personal preference how you want to play games.

>using amcontroller requires actual skill, and often practice.
Aim assist normally

nigga my PC is so shit and full of distractions at this point that I usually only get any vidya done in my bed with my DS. By the time I have a controller setup, I've already been on Sup Forums reading shitposts and clickbait for 3 hours.

My gaming PC died so recently I've been going back and playing 6th/7th gen games I missed. It's not that bad.

>wagie on Sup Forums

>By the time I have a controller setup
You literally press the power button on the controller and it's hooked up. Press it again and steam opens to big picture mode. What do you mean by this?

>2d platformers
>with a controller
Please stop baiting.

TPP can work with a controller if it was specifically designed it, but most of the time kb+m still gives you much better responsiveness and control over the camera and such.

it depends on the game, for any sort of first person shooter there's no going back

Playing rythm games on a TV is hell

As a PC convert I can't go back to playing first person titles on console without gyro controls akin to Splatoon.

I don't have a 360 controller. I have a logitech dual action and a PS4 controller. Both of which require fuckery to get working properly in most games.

>Went from Xbox360 to PC to PS4.
Last 5 Games i played and enjoyed are ps4 exclusives.
I still spend most of my time in front of the computer, just not playing games.

I can't stand 30 FPS anymore. It's sad that people think 30fps is okay. It's really not.

I agree it is misleading, as the TV is drawn too big.

A 3-times-bigger-than-a-monitor screen set at 4 times de distance shoul appear smaller than the monitor.

>having a job means you can't play multiplayer games
u wot

i dont give a shit about fps or graphics, i just cant stand the loading times for console games

Multiplayer games that require skill, require time.

I use Linux and there are no games for it on Steam that interest me. It's only western indie shit and with odd bits of AAA trash here and there
