Meet was kind of weak in the first ME but rapidly improved in the sequels.

There are plenty of things to nitpick in ME but the Shepard VAs are not one of them.

Yeah I thought Femshep was pretty weak all the way through the series. Granted, she was my second run through the games and I was unaware that 99% of her dialogue was straight up copy/pasted from the male.

Guy Shepard kinda sucked at the first but got better-to-good through 2 and 3, and outright fantastic in the Citadel DLC where his awkwardness was made self-aware. Femshep always sounded like she was reading lines.

Because I mostly play ME3. Male Shep only has a good voice in 1 and 2. Besides I like beautiful women. I play a bald girl occasionally just so I can see her beautiful head without the hair obstructing any of it.

Also lets be honest, ME3 armor is mostly made for the female model. Most of it looks like bad cosplay on male shepard.

Most of the female preset faces look fine if you raise the face size and make the cheeks a bit fatter. Also black hair is basically a must in order to hide the flaws in the hair models and textures. Only one or two hairstyles can be done in any color.

I think that Meer was kind of amateur in ME1 but after that he was clearly the better option over Hale. Hale was basically snoozing through the role in ME2 and 3, coasting on her voice's resonance rather than adding proper color to the performance.
