About to start up a run of Dark Souls III with a friend for the first time, anything I should know?

About to start up a run of Dark Souls III with a friend for the first time, anything I should know?

Roll a lot.

Don't finish it before the next DLC is out. The game has such little replay value that you won't be able to bring yourself to go through again just for the new content.

>The game has such little replay value that you won't be able to bring yourself to go through again just for the new content.

What? I've played through it over five times with four different characters.

Don't bother with heavy armor, it's basically worthless in 3

Why is this?

Not him, but how? I love the souls games, I've put a 1000 (thousand) hours into the souls games easily and I couldn't get my 2ND build after I completed it past cathedral of the deep

>I've played through it over five times with four different characters.
You might be unironically too autistic for Sup Forums.

>thinks 1000 hours over the course of 5 games is a lot
>playing a game five times makes you too autistic for Sup Forums

you both need to get your shit together, jesus

Play it by yourself

>playing a linear as fuck game with zero variation in viable builds five times makes you too autistic for Sup Forums
It does.

My first run through DS3 was using a greatsword + heavy armor character with shitloads of investment into VIT and STR. i even pvp'd and "got good" to the point where I could beat most opponents in "fight clubs" by using heavy weapons. Then, once I finished it, I've realized that I've just completed the game in a way that provides the most challenge and lost all interest to play it again.

It's shit and you're autistic, m8.

>tl;dr: I never got gud, fuck this difficult game >:(

Is this bait? This feels like bait. There's no getting better at DS3 once you can complete it with an UGS. Even using your fists is easier.

>i literally didn't even get to ng+7 and i think i know how the difficulty scales
classic Sup Forums shitposting without having played the games

>he thinks any NG+ runs are actually harder compared to a proper first blind run when you don't know any attack patterns that well

You are retarded, there's no helping you. Might as well consider suicide.

I've replayed DaS3 several times over and still enjoy it.

The world might be too linear for some people, and the area designs not as exciting or interesting as in previous games (especially following BB), but it's easily the most refined Souls game there is.

Everything from movement, controls, combat feedback, weapons all feel great.

I haven't been able to go back to 2 since 3 came out. The floaty controls, the rolls that require ADP dumping to obtain i-frames, every area being a linear walkway with pitfalls on either side of you, bland and empty / incomplete level design, and a quantity over quality design philosophy - I just can't go back.

It's the easiest of all souls, bb included. You'll do fine.

You're probably burned out on the formula then.

>difficulty in souls games stems from lack of foreknowledge
huh, didn't know trial-and-error fags still existed after DS1. did you ever clear sen's fortress after all this time?

big weapons make pve and boss fights a joke

UGS is literally easy mode though. Only hard in PvP.

I can totally see where you're going with this though

>m-muh poise
Yeah because let's all forget havel flipping rapier builds were so much fucking fun. Poise system is fine. You just need to get used to it.
>but I get R1 spammed
then parry or don't back yourself in a corner

>did you ever clear sen's fortress after all this time?
I unironically cleared it on a blind run, because I'm not a casul shitter.

>zero variation in viable builds

Translation:
>"Every build I make isn't obscenely OP in PvP and doesn't 2 shot enemies in PvE! Wah!"

I've played through DaS3 as
>Guts cosplay - which was fun as shit
>Halberdier
>Ninja on NG+ using Onri and Ubidatchi + throwing knives and bombs - which was also fun
>Pyromancer
>Sorcerer
>Deprived "Parry the World" run with just the starting equipment - which went awfully because I'm utter shit at parrying
>had fun every time

Maybe either git gud or stop playing the same basic ass longsword knight build every time.

I find the environments to be fantastic, frankly. The lake, for example for which I can't remember it's name, with the giant Alaskan bull worm and the giant crossbow. That is, aesthetically, the best looking place to me. It plays like shit of course, but I like how it looks with the trees and rising embers.

>unironically
how would one ironically clear sen's fortress on a blind run? do you mean that they would be ironically stating that they have cleared sen's fortress on a blind run? are you a silly goose?

You both haven't played the game and are spewing nonsense. Heavy weapons are the hardest to play in DS3 because of poise being nonexistent outside of hyper armor and you must be clinically retarded to try and trade with DS3 bosses who flail around like madmen.

If you're using a heavy weapon such as an UGS in DS3 against bosses like the Champ, you have ridiculously small attack windows to properly punish them without getting hit. If you using something faster like a straightsword, you can punish the bosses very easily.

Play the fucking game before shitposting, mongoloids.

Smoldering Lake.

I felt like more could have been done for that area. You're finally given this wide open expansive space to explore - but you're too busy dodging giant arrows from the crossbow machine. Disable it and return expecting to find some cool shit, only to find nothing but crabs, a chaos gem, and a whole lot of nothing else.

Demon ruins felt a bit lacking as well. It was just a samey-looking labrynth that felt like recycled bits from chalice dungeons.

Speaking of Chalice Dungeons, I really hope Ringed City gives us something similar. Would be really cool and would add even more replayability to the game. They weren't especially great in BB, but weren't bad either. Could've been tuned a bit.

Don't read too much into it for the first playthrough. Let most of it it be a surprise. You'll be happy you did.

This was my fav souls game, don't give a fuck what other people think.

All of the areas are pretty ok except for farron woods and the profaned capital/dungeon. Dragonstone peak kinda sucks too. All of those, adding maybe also the 'abyss/reverse fireshrine', suck and are forgettable.

After this post I'm convinced retards like you come to Sup Forums to shitpost without even reading the original post they're shitposting to.

>Heavy weapons are the hardest to play in DS3 because of poise being nonexistent outside of hyper armor and you must be clinically retarded to try and trade with DS3 bosses who flail around like madmen.

Oh look, a sour poisefag who doesn't know where the dodge button is located, and has to brute force the game by tanking hits and wearing Havels.

Told you.
>muh poise

You don't need poise in fucking dark souls. You don't "trade" you fucking casual, you dodge then strike. That's how the game works.

I always play Souls games with heavy weapons and it's always the most easy run, because you literally oneshot trash mobs and bosses only take a few hits.

>you have small attack window
Yeah no shit, but you do a hell of a lot more damage. Most bosses (even "the champ") have windows where you can attack them TWICE with an UGS.

You clearly are not good at the game, even when stating you are somehow "pretty good". UGS is literally easy mode in these games, very easy being some kind of meme weapon like Dark Sword or whatever and buffing it to hell and back.

Try finishing the game with something like Onri and Ubidatchi and tell me UGS is "hard".

How is that a shitpost? They're simply stating that they were able to enjoy the game across multiple playthroughs using different builds that they enjoyed, in response to your post about how there is no viable build variety in DS3.

No John, you are the shitposters.

You are both retards. Of course I abused the everliving shit out of the rolls, because the game would be completely unplayable otherwise. You must be truly shitposting or just some kind of genuine fucking retards.

>but you do a hell of a lot more damage
Wrong, you fucking retard. You deal more damage per strike but your overall DPS goes down the shitter if you're using anything but a fast weapon in DS3. You don't know what you're talking about and you're obviously shit at the game, so the rest of your verbal diarrhea can be safely disregarded.

>onri and ubidatchi run

Mah fuckin nigga. I did a run with those just recently, shit was fun, if not challenging. I love doing runs with gimmick weapons. Forces you into entire new play styles.

>parry the world run

I want to do one of these just to learn how to git gud at parrying. I've played all DaS games, and just never got good at it, even when practicing.

LobosJr is a cool guy and I enjoy his streams.

Have you played Demon Souls or at least Dark Souls 1 baka

Your aggressive retardation is actually giving me a headache.

Good job. Seriously.

No """arguments"""? Just more verbal diarrhea? OK, I didn't expect anything else from someone who liked this pile of garbage.

There's no point in arguing with you because it's hardly even a fucking argument you shitstain. I replied to you saying you're wrong about the lack of build variety, and you called me a shitposter. Someone called you out about being wrong about poise and how UGS is the hardest way to play the game (which it really truly fucking isnt' - at all), and you call everyone retards while spewing more wrong information because either you never played past a single playthrough, only play one build, or are just really god damn bad at the fucking game.

You're only resorting to Ad-Hominem and name calling - it's hardly even a fucking argument.

Holy shit.
