Because the games are top tier and all deserve to be paid for? Nintendo makes some top quality stuff dude.
James Ward
Because I wouldn't even download these games for free. If I won't take them for free, maybe they'll get me when this game is on clearance for $2?
Jeremiah Turner
>Company produces thing spending workforce, time and resources >Doesn't give it away for free
wtf i hate capitalism now
Hunter Torres
Insider here. The game had a budget of... not joking here... $50,000.
It is very much a tech demo being sold as a retail game. However, Nintendo also wants to release something that takes advantage of HD rumble to demonstrate how it works.
>Will it bomb?
No. the game's budget is so low that it could sell 50,000 units and still be profitable.
Aiden Young
Holy shit, I just watched that webm. WTF why, I don't understand. It's not even a worthwhile tech demo.
Andrew Morales
>insider
Carter Phillips
I'm not saying the workers don't deserve to be paid or some shit like that, however Nintendo has set a standard for themselves to pack their "tech demo" game in for free. I don't think that buyers are entitled to it for free, but I do think that there is more than enough room to be disappointed. It just makes them look deseprate for money
Austin Cox
>Standard
Nintendo wants to eventually start offering different bundles with different pack in games for the Switch later on down the line. It's not a bundled game 'yet' but will be in the future.
Ryder Sullivan
It's probably to keep the cost of the launch Switch package as it is right now
(Unreasonable) people are bitching about 300$, imagine if the thing was, say, 320$ or more
Dylan Wilson
It's 260 in japan.
Noah King
Are we sure it doesn't come with something installed like AR Games or Face Raiders on 3DS?
Lincoln Morgan
sauce on the 5 games
Benjamin Lee
it's just a terrible idea to not sell a system with a game and even worse to not package it with something that's barely a video game but shows off the new gimmicks of their gimmick controller
Noah Reyes
>Set a standard
They did it once in two regions.
Elijah Campbell
It's a hypothetical
Jacob Martin
>Wii Sports was free >This fucking tech gimmick demo isn't
Jason Stewart
Actually, I thought of a reason. Wii Sports showed off all the neat things you can do with motion controls. Nintendo Land showed off Wii Motion Plus and the Gamepad. These things were important parts of their system's identity.
The Switch's gimmick is in the name, the ability to switch screens between TV and handheld. 1 2 Switch is played without looking any screen at all and just shows off HD rumble. While neat, it's an extra feature rather than the main attraction.
Including it might give people the wrong idea about the system. Unlike Wii Sports and Nintendo Land, 1 2 Switch has very little (if any) single player value, so people might get annoyed at getting another motion control tech demo party game as opposed to something like Zelda or Skyrim.
That doesn't explain why it's $50 on its own, though. Even Wii Play came with another Wii Remote to justify its purchase.
Charles Miller
>webm Nintendo has lost their fucking minds.
even if it were free I still wouldn't want it.
Benjamin Hill
These would be great in a WarioWare title
Xavier Ortiz
Agreed
Carson Diaz
Here are 18 out of the 28 1,2, switch games youtube.com/watch?v=ydoBmnrleoE Go ahead and tell me if there are 5 worthwhile games and tell me which ones.
Ryan Cruz
Objectively correct.
I honestly don't know what the fuck they were thinking, this shit wouldn't get as much flak if they used an actual IP that does precisely the same thing 1-2-switch does. Even then it looks terribly boring, but I'm not the target audience so whatever
Ryan Peterson
I don't get it the game, do you just rotate it as much as you can?
Juan King
...
Alexander Flores
the entire premise of 12Switch is virtually make-believe and pretend. There is no reason anyone needs to spend $50 to "pretend". You're looking at your opponent, not the game. You could turn the TV off altogether and still have the same experience. You could turn the console off and still have the same experience. You could not purchase the console at all and still have the same experience.
The game is basically a third party referee. Get a third friend to be that referee, then you and the other friend can make believe all day while the third person arbitrarily dictates who wins or loses.
Chase Sullivan
I would have gladly taken Sword Fight, Ping Pong, Ball Count, Quick Draw, and Wizard
All of those seem like awesome drinking games except Ball Count which looks like the objective way to test out the HD rumble
Kayden Davis
It's $50 because that's Nintendo's "budget" game price. They did the same thing with the Wii U Mario Tennis. Their "budget" retail games were $30, so it's basically $10 off the usual price.
Leo Cox
I kinda like this one but I don't see myself ever playing it more than twice.
Brody Myers
will this work with numales considering they have beards?
Is this how monotonous and mediocre business life is that it'd be fun to make a game over who can shave faster?
Grayson Lee
From what I can tell, one person rotates theirs and the other person tries to match it as best as possible. Honestly though I have no clue
Captcha: Toilets Dead
Xavier Murphy
>Is this how monotonous and mediocre business life is
Yes.
Cooper Lee
That isn't true at all. Tons of games for both wii u and 3ds (mostly 3ds) launched at 40
Levi Lewis
No it isent, its 29,999 Yen
Daniel Carter
I like the JoJo one, but theres no more than 3 games that i would ever play from those lmao.
How is this worth 50$?
Asher Hernandez
I want to watch these two fuck. I would have gladly spent 60 dollars for it.
Ethan Perry
Which is 260 usd.
Grayson Hernandez
$50 000 budget would only cover the cost of a very junior programmer you fucking idiot. Literally no money left for graphics, sound, or fucking anything.
Nathaniel Peterson
>NUUUUPREFIX NOT AN ARGUMENT
Andrew Stewart
3DS games are normally $40. Which Nintendo published Wii U games were $40 on release?
James Bennett
Not if you made it in 3 months.
Juan Green
You could buy this instead and get the same gameplay experience.
Parker Butler
guy on the left looks like the lovechild of Neil Patrick Harris and Gordon Ramsey.
Jonathan Morgan
What bothers me is that most of the "gameplay" is spent staring at someone else instead of the screen. You're basically $50 paying for the HD rumble gimmick instead of for a real video game.
Jeremiah Adams
I will get drunk and have fun with my friends playing this game and none of you friendless underage faggots can stop me.
Brandon Collins
This. She also looks a bit like that Treehouse girl with the huge tits
Jason Ward
I'm not gonna lie, the more videos of this game that keep coming out, the more I think my family would love to play it.
I'd probably buy it at a $25-30 price point.
Blake Clark
Fuck Bop-it Extreme, the spin it was busted and Flick it was redundant. Bop-it classic is the only true test of skill.
Ayden Perez
>I will eat shit and you can't stop me Nobody's trying to, lad, enjoy it
Lincoln Kelly
>food analogy You really got him there.
Jason Long
>fully grown adults playing games designed for the 3 to 8 age range
Logan Miller
>shit >food Tone it down scatfag, this isn't /d/
James Garcia
You play mature games for mature gamers such as yourself, right sonygger?
Brayden Diaz
...
Adrian Butler
I can play this with a bunch of sticks and I'd have more fun. They even call this a game, wtf Nintendo? All they had to do is release knack2 an they'd have a console seller right there.
Mason Morgan
I think it's a good idea to not bundle it with the system. Yes, it would have been nice to get a game with it, but if Nintendo is really trying to drop the kiddy and casual only persona, bundling this game with the system would have given off the entirely opposite message.
Carter Nguyen
Nintendo is never dropping the kiddy and casual only persona.
See Splatoon 2, Mario Odyssee, all these rated E and E10 games being released on the Switch.
Aiden Evans
Literally just a tech demo. There's no reason to charge for it. It doesn't come off as childish since they use adults as the models and since when has nintendo not been casual, especially now that they're trying to get the mobile audience?
Joseph Perez
Their launch lineup does nothing to sway that persona
Ryder Miller
You can be family friendly without being overly juvenile.
Jace Powell
You can't spell the word isn't? Are you literally 12?
Brandon Roberts
>no digital download for actual games I knew they'd drop it. MicroSD isn't economically feasible to support their plans for full real-deal games being downloaded.
god what a tremendous fuck up. Switch redesign with SD card slot is gonna be around the corner.
Samuel Smith
Does the game itself come with the videos demo:ing the games?
Dylan Rivera
>shaving is the worst daily task any man has to do >let's make a game about it
What were they thinking?
Xavier Barnes
Yes
Andrew Bailey
>if Nintendo is really trying to drop the kiddy and casual only persona
They aren't. Plus, all Switch ads (that I've seen, at least) focus almost entirely on 1 2 Switch.
Tyler Reyes
>mfw all the people who bought Switches at launch have to spend $200 for a 256GB MicrosSD card but i'll only need to spend $20 for a the same storage on standard SD
Josiah Brown
Their Superbowl ad focused exclusively on BotW.
Aiden Richardson
Has there been any Switch marketing targeted at children? The would probably get a shit ton of sales if they marketed it as a kid's tablet which is what it is.
Liam Hughes
>hold down the trigger to guard >release it to attack
this is just bad game design.
Nathaniel Perry
>I can play this with a bunch of sticks and I'd have more fun.
Delete this.
Grayson White
why do you guys complain about a game which was for sure not designed with anyone browsing Sup Forums in mind? obviously nintendo doesent expect to sell a lot of copies to gamers.
Aiden Martin
>anytime a guy plays against a girl, the girl always wins What did they mean by this?
Ian Diaz
explain
Jayden Cox
You have a source for that? Not shitposting, actually curious where they said it
Zachary Gonzalez
My brain doesn't have the enough processing power to see how would anyone pay this trash. WHAT WERE THEY THINKING? if this was free I wouldn't complain at all and its an OK tech demo then
Wtf Nintendo?
Jordan Lee
Since Nintendo is both a hardware and software developer, there's a chance the Switch itself was designed to accommodate this single "game".
At the very least, first party develop time/money were completely wasted on this.
Ayden Thomas
zelda is 13.4 gb according to the japanese website and very well available digitally. nintendo published every wii u game and every 3ds game after the gold coin mario digitally. it is highly unlikeley they will stop.
Adrian Perez
Asians don't have beards so they made a game about wanting to shave.
Julian Foster
he's trying to get in her pants
Nathan Cooper
What?
Ian Jackson
just replace the bottle with a penis
Kevin Howard
for all we know, switch may end up like 3DS where the device didn't have a eshop on day one. it had to be patched in later.
Jaxson Ramirez
Friendly reminder that there's 1 2 switch games involving nazi saluting in sailor uniforms and making love to a gorilla
Tyler Moore
Girls can play video games, too!
Dylan Morgan
Need webms
Ethan Bell
Sounds exactly like the kinda game I'd like.
Brandon Edwards
Why?
Kayden Lee
i think it was designed to allow virtual console for most if not all nintendo consoles.
Hudson Adams
Why not?
Charles Edwards
Wii sports is still played today. They don't want you to buy it, they want churches, senior centers, boys and girls clubs to buy it
Lucas Allen
All of this is clearly "come up with a minigame using the Joycon and learn how to program for it" tier, with a couple of jpgs and a day of filming for the videos.
Probably took less than 200k to develop. It will 100% make a profit that can be used for better games, you're a faggot.
Isaiah Anderson
>I can play this with a bunch of sticks and I'd have more fun. This is exactly how I feel about it, mainly because there's literally no visual feedback on what the fuck you're doing. Hell even VR was pretty bad and they had more to show than this
Matthew Carter
1 2 Switch sounds like just the right game for those libtards and their safe spaces. All things considered, this was a brilliant move.
Samuel Butler
Because what the world needed was a Babysitting Mama clone with all of the fun taken out of it. NO NO NO PREASE DON'T SHAKE DA BABY!
Josiah Stewart
Nintendo can't stand being out of the spotlight and they're hoping this shit will become the next Wii Sports.
That's the best I can come up with.
Lucas Scott
>WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT, BRO? >that thing looks hurt. >Should we call an aquarium or something?
Mason Hill
None yet. Those were pulled from the 1 2 switch commercial
Isaac Reyes
Is this video games? lmao
David Flores
i didnt have a 3ds at the beginning but now that they pretty much made it a policy to deliver their games digitally i doubt it has no eshop at the beginning.
