It's not good. It's a fucking videogame in the best way possible.
my goty so far
>It's a fucking videogame in the best way possible.
But that sounds great. Not sure I understand what you mean, user.
Very good. my GOTY also as this user said.
It's not on PC, so no.
he means the game is a perfect Yakuza game
10/10
Probably means that "good" isn't worthy of describing an amazing game? I dunno.
Here's a free (you) for your troubles. Now, on your way.
It's the first time I say this unironically, but it's a fucking masterpiece
Wow. Can't remember the last time I saw Sup Forums like a game so much. Might have to give it a try.
Exactly. It's not good. It's great. Fantastic, even. It's a videogame in one of its purest forms.
QTEs aren't overly long and flow nicely with gameplay.
Combat is fun and impactful.
Atmosphere is great and the devs added in so many little details to capture that 80s atmosphere in Kamurocho and Sotenbori.
It has characters you care about, even more so if you've played the other ones.
Minigames can be their own standalone game.
No paid DLC bullshit.
Over 70 hours of playtime if you're looking to complete everything, maybe more because fuck catfights.
Long ass cutscenes but you decide when you want to see them after the initial chapter.
Manages to balance a serious main story with some comic relief sidequests that are actually funny.
Kickass soundtrack.
Sorry to trigger you, pal. Console games are shit without exception.
you're really going all out huh.
What do the real Yakuza think of this game series?
I feel like there's no way Japan is even remotely as violent as this game.
Amazing game. I get caught on the feels train a lot.
Anyone have strats for the catfight club? I can usually get the lower odds girls to the last round but then I lose all my money?
I love it, it's my introduction into the franchise and I am sold so hard on this franchise that I am about to order a ps3 so I can play 3-5 and I bought 1 and 2 and I plan to buy Kiwami in the summer to prep for 6 next year.
Very good.
From past threads, people usually go with Jennifer and other top tier characters as long as their mood is positive from the bottom ticker.
I still button mash even though some anons say its useless, and i'm starting to agree.
Don't bet over 10 mil or you're gonna lose your money.
Neat
pastebin for the series
Personally, its one of the best games I've played, got me out being burned out of games.
I dunno if you'll like the genre, but for what it is, its a great game.
>first time trying it out against gambling king
>barely win
>right at the end she comes over and breaks my girl's arm when she's celebrating
>COMEBACK VICTORY
fucking hell
>being burned out of games
Literally me right now. Thanks for the input, user.
It's GOTY contender and Best action game of the year IMO
>that HEAT action where Kiryu gets up from the ground and does a flying headbutt/grapple attack on an enemy
fug
The only other game in the series I've played was 3 which I didn't like, but I'm a sucker for 80s Japan and the reviews on here were all really good so I decided to give it a shot.
And wow, holy fuck I love it. I'm still at the beginning, but it already starts out strong and compelling unlike 3, which takes 5 hours to start.
My only complaint so far is that the camera seems a bit wonky.
If you like beat em ups and know ahead of time it's not really open world, I think you'll like it
A life without Yakuza. What a shitty way to live.
I wish you could use Kiryu's suit from the beginning of the game in Premium adventure, why the hell cant you
>it's not really open world
Damn. Little bit disappointing if true and seems a bit contrary to what I've already heard.
>that miniquest with highschool girls selling pantsu
am I going to jail?
Only complaint I have about the game are the "dungeons"
Like, there arent enough main missions where you explore otherwhise unaccessible locations, executing qte to evade surprise attacks and stuff like that, theyre one of my favourite thing about the series
Also, I would've loved more qte's during bosses, nothing too much but maybe a little cutscene here and there, the fights were a bit plain
I think I'll live without some shitty jap game you retarded tripfag.
I love the little details in 0 as well.
>kiryu has a pin in chapter 1 on his jacket
>it's taken off when he gets expelled from the family formally by dojima
>playing the real estate minigame and completely dominating an area
>the barkers bow to you and say "good work"
>they also light your cigarette for you
But thats a good thing.
This games areas are like centeral hubs with all sorts of things to do and find.
Beats an open world game.
It's a condensed world, where all the shit you can do like substories and minigames are all in two areas.
it's open world in the sense that if you don't want to continue the story, you can do other things.
>game is called Yakuza
>guy on the right is clearly a pirate
Who are they trying to fool here?
Nah its a good thing. When you open up the map you will think it is small until you realize that there really isn't a dead zone in the game. You will find something to do bit it minigames, card collecting, sub quests, real estate, main quests or fighting.
Nah it's better. It's really detailed and there's tons of buildings to go in for mini games, food, drinks, etc
>game is called Yakuza
>neither are in the Yakuza for more than an hour
Enjoy your AAA shit then.
How they get back in the Yakuza with not so much as a missing pinkie is beyond me. They even get promotions out of it.
youtube.com
>This entire scene after Krazy Kuze on the motorcycle with a pipe
I was just like WTF. I fucking love Awano.
How did you get to the conclusion that if someone doesn't like console jap trash they play AAA games?
Homeless Hunters? Those are real.
What even is this game? I see webms all the time and each one has different gameplay.
All of this
that's a huge part of the charm nigga
there's like 20 different minigames
the core gameplay is basically a 3d version of river city ransom
That's because there's a ton of minigames you can do, but primarily the game is a beat 'em up.
>What even is this game?
It's like Shenmue but with more gameplay
STUPID OLD FUCK
Ok, so I was cashing in the Mad Dog fighting style when I see a lv 2 on the bottom. How far does this style go and does everything stack?
until lvl 999 and yes. One hit kills on regular enemies at maybe lvl 10.
So does 0 now surpass 2 as the general fan favourite and "best in the series"?
Only until Kiwami 2
It's tough. I love 2 for how great the rivalry and story was (yes, there were some silly moments in 2 but it was still great) but 0 trumps it in the gameplay department.
I would love to see a Kiwami 2 though. With an original OST option.
>(Translation: I feel sorry for the people who bought the American version. SEGA USA sucks.)
This really is a thing. isn't it? Being so burned out that once in every year or 2 a game comes out that makes you feel as you used to playing video games before. This was me with Yakuza 0 as well. Now that I beat it, I'm fucking empty inside again.
>Took down Kuze with that
Good stuff
youtu.be
literally the buyer
Are they even gonna make it? I thought people were saying the sales of 6 were shit.
>Getting distracted from your hit-man contract because your running some crappy Cabaret club
I seriously hope you don't do this, tiger.
Shut up, you were a KR villain before you became a lovable smug prick.
Yes it's good.
Just keep in mind that Real Estate Royale gets really fucking tedious if you try to grind through it in the early game.
The moment I realised his chance of surviving this prequel was less than 0 was pretty depressing
Really great, thanks user
>only have to do Club Moon to finish off Cabaret Club
>still have to buy all the properties, level up the platinum hostesses and complete special training three more times
I miss real estate.
They pay off is well worth it. The motivation for their actions is astounding.
I didn't realize you could partner with other bussines until i finished it all
the japanese name translates to Like A Dragon, so maybe being IN the yakuza wasnt really a focal point of the series
Is that why you spend like a quarter of Y3 running the orphanage?
And you're telling me this guy does game reviews for a living?
>Yakuza series got made one year after SEGA merged with Sammy
>Sammy is the biggest pachinko machine manufacturer in the world
Really blasts my processors
> Hajime Satomi, the CEO of Sega Sammy, is one of Japan's richest individuals. And early this morning, there was a frightening gun incident at his house. Thankfully, the Sega exec and his family were not at home.
>Satomi founded pachinko machine maker Sammy Corporation, which bought Sega in 2004. He is now the director of both Sega and Sammy as well as Sega Sammy Holdings.
>According to FNN News, a security guard at Satomi's Tokyo mansion reported hearing a loud noise at 3:30 am this morning. A light outside one of the house's gates was shattered. Three live bullets were found nearby, and in the road in front of the house, a shell casing was discovered. Police are now investigating this shooting incident.
>Yuki will never be your girlfriend and pout when you forget she exists because of how plain and flat chested she is
the bantz she had with majima was great
Yuki is cute. CUTE
Because they made Sera the Tojo chairman.
Any changes to the US version?
Cut the intro song, cut a walkman player with some Japanese 80s hits on it.
>cut a walkman player with some Japanese 80s hits on it
I WISH I NEVER KNEW THIS
Yeah that does suck...suddenly those Walkman ads make more sense now
I just kind of wish stuff like the training existed with the non-Platinum hostesses. I just want to give Unknown loving protection leading to her to feel safe and develop trust and eventually reveal her name.
Also goddamn Isobe basically cleans up all the other hostesses so far in terms of actual use.
i like the occidental intro song more
>Get to So Amon as Kiryu
>His scattershot thing is annoying but manage to work him down a bar and a half
>Instakill laser
That laser was bullshit. I had to retry like 5 times before I finally beat that part
Does he drop the fucking thing eventually? I'm about to just give up on fighting the Amons and finishing Majima's substories.
Well it is the 80s so walkman ads wouldn't really look out of place regardless
>couldn't even break top 20 downloads in january
>western release a complete failure
>devs desperately shill on Sup Forums everyday for more exposure
kek
yeah, but be prepared for more bullshit. So stock up on health and sacrifice stones. I also recommend buying all the abilities for Beast
when is it too late to do the substories?
Platinum lets you do them in any order after beating the main story.
When you die
Never. Even after you beat the game you can still do substories.
Never. A freeroam mode exists so you can do them all.
>Ark
People are still falling for this scam even now?
