You're delusional if you think this will be different from MGSV. We will be teased by amazing trailers showing barely any gameplay until release. We will be fed false promises and the hype will build up until it's inevitable crash when we find out that the game is shit.

I don't want it to be different from MGSV.

MGSV was a great game.

in b4 the yellow face of industrial loyalty and delusions

To be honest the PS4 exclusivity has just kinda shut down any interest I have.

but MGSV had incredible gameplay

Death Stranding will be Kojima's best game yet. I can't wait to play it in 2025.

My fucking dude. I didn't make the connection on the first teaser with Reedus, but man that one with Del Taco really made it abundantly clear this is going to be MGSV 2.0 with it's extremely shallow narrative and surreal lack of dialogue. Just look at how wacky he moves around in the sewer area and doesn't say a fucking word. What is that shit? I hate it. It's like Venom Snake not uttering a word when dealing with people. It's awkward and lacking. I fully expect this game to follow the same shit direction.

Kojima has 3 misleading turds in a row under his belt now. You'd have to be a fucking retard to fall for his bullshit. So of course Sup Forums immediately lapped it all up

But there was a lot of gameplay of MGS V, months before release, explaining what it is you do in the game.

>open world multiplayer inspired by ubishit

Its not the gameplay that was wrong with MGSV, it was the story. It was all lies. The gameplay was awesome, you don't even know what youre talking about

Daily reminder that Death Stranding will be a commercial success on hype alone, and there's nothing you faggots can do about it.

But MGSV was good. Grow up and stop thinking hating everything makes you "COOL AND EDGY xD" or go back to Sup Forums

That would be very different though. We saw hours of gameplay for MGSV before release.

NEVER EVER

Well. To be fair the mother base and open world kinda killed it a bit.

It had a solid base that was let down by the other mechanics and lack of focused level design and boring mission design.

mgs5 had good story and good gameplay, but bad level, game, and boss design

>it's a retard confuses gameplay with controls episode

>mgs5 had good story

Wait...MGSV but finished?
So it's literally exactly what people are hoping for.

But MGSV was the most fun I've had with any game in years. Yes, the story kinda sucked, but the gameplay was absolutely fantastic

But MGSV showed hours of gameplay before the game came out. There were multiple demos.

Watch this game release before another trailer or anything for the FF7 remake even comes out XDXD

MGSV was fantastic, so I HOPE it's like it

yeah i really wish del taco spoke every single time he looked up and moved I mean how would I know he was moving or not and it's not literally obvious he was hiding or escaping from shit he should literally be yelling at the top of his lungs I should know what I'm talking about after seeing 4 minutes of a trailer this game has literally no dialogue

I was talking about Mads. Didn't make it clear enough, only said moving around in the sewers, my bad.

yeah I totally wish mads would just randomly fucking talk for some reason

MGSV is a great game. It's missing a chapter story wise and an extra warzone gameplay wise, but it's still a great game.
So yeah, strap me in, Kojooper.

This is a guilty pleasure for me if its just like metal gear solid V, but with the cool infected-military aesthetic shown in the trailers. Fully prepared to be shot down tho...

>randomly

He's controlling a squad of soldiers. He uses fucking hand gestures to control them and they can't even see what he does. He could also say something like "he must be down here, find him and destroy him" fucking anything. But no, it's the same surreal silence we got with MGSV.

If you honestly think this lack of dialogue is acceptable, you might have a social autism and are just not picking up on the cues of something is wrong here.

He's controlling them through the cords that come out of his phanny pack
the soldiers are FUCKING SKELETONS BOUND TO HIS WILL OBVIOUSLY WHY WOULD HE TALK TO THEM
DID YOU WATCH THE FUCKING TRAILER?
holy fuck

So it will be a fantastic game that goes in a different direction than the previous games and is hated by weaboo retards who think MGR is a masterpiece? Gotcha.

No. It will be a fairly mediocre game that might as well have been made by Ubisoft for how boring most of the content was. Like MGS5.

Okay bro. We'll wait and see how much of a turd this game is.

I'll leave you with this cutscene from MGSV. Try and justify how fucking awkward it is, your mental gymnastics are entertaining:

youtube.com/watch?v=xsCjXh_wkkY

honestly i would have preferred it to be a semi-linear story based game rather than open world. Im just not feeling the world-roaming sidequests is right for this game

So. I'm guessing you are not a fan of the MGS series?

Because that was one of the few moments where the game felt like an actual MGS game.

>le mgsv was bad meme

kill yourselves, oh wait, you pretended MGSV was bad so you could keep living your sad, pathetic lives

deflecting to MGSV ahahahahahaha holy fuck

You a fan of Venom Snake being a lifeless husk who says fucking NOTHING throughout the entire jet attack sequence? You don't think that's at least a LITTLE BIT awkward?

It's fucking surreal bullshit. Solid would have had something to say, at least a "damn!" But >nothing< ? Come on, get real. This shit is whack.

Kojimbo will make another masterpiece that the west cannot compete with I don't even need to see anything else. It's gonna be fresh as fuck and be fun with awesome amounts of action.

Especially ones so badly made.

MGS strengths have always been in the level design and very tight thought out set pieces. I don't know what Kojima was thinking when he decided to get rid of that in favor of a copy past barren Ubisoft style sandbox.

Which is insane since he got it exactly right with Ground Zeroes. It had the best from both worlds.

It's called shell shock. His comrades were being murdered.

yeah i feel like he got a little excited with the open world stuff and made it bigger than he should have. The story has more impact to me at least when you have some degree of freedom, but guidance as well

>His comrades were being murdered.

What? The jet sequence, who was being murdered? It was him sitting in the helicopter alone with his pilot flying back to motherbase, just chilling. All of a sudden incoming jet starts taking passes on them, out of nowhere Quiet reappears and is acting friendly, he STILL doesn't know at this point that she is "Quiet" and can't speak, and he says fucking nothing.

Here's how that whole scene would have gone down with Solid or Naked Snake behind the wheel:

>"We have a bogey on our tail!"

>"Damn, where did it come from!?"

>"I'll try and shake him!"

>"Ok, I'll get on the minigun and try and hold him off."

>*Quiet reappears*

>"WHAT!?"

>*Quiet nods and aims her rifle*

>*Snake grunts* "Fine, I'll deal with you after we take care of this bird."

>*Quiet headshots the pilot*

>"That's a pretty impressive shot, you're pretty good."

See what I mean? Instead, he fucking sits there dead silent the entire time not making a single peep. THIS is what was wrong with V, and I fully anticipate it making a return in Death's Stranding. I don't know what it is and why this is happening, but it is clear this is how Kojima games are going to be for the foreseeable future. And it's shallow awkward garbage.

He was thinking about free drop, infiltration, and exit movement and he got it right. It was to have complete freedom and plan your attacks.

I remember one mission I got caught so I ran around and up the mountain to where I had a lookout above the base, then I watched them as they formed up a line and ran out to scout around where I was originally spotted, then I dropped down on a roof ran in, completed the objective while pulling headshots on the remains if they were about to see me and got out for a good rank. So that's what Kojima was thinking, free infiltration.

well that means if you really want to play it you just need to buy a ps4 when its dirt cheap, thats what I'm gonna do, there are at least 10 games on ps4 that I want but consoles are so fucking expensive, I've almost always been 1 generation behind so everything is more affordable.

>who says fucking nothing
You've obviously never watched a goddamn film in your life. It's called show, don't tell. A character doesn't have to talk in order to express his emotions/actions, you fucking retard.

That's what you more or less could do in Ground Zeroes though.

It had that element of deciding how you want to infiltrate, but at the same time it was better balanced and more focus. Not to mention no bullshit motherbase elements that made the game trivial in the difficulty department.

The patrol routes in TPP was so pathetic for example I S ranked almost every mission on my first try and I'm generally fairly mediocre at MGS stealth.

For me it's Bloodborne and kinda Nioh. But yeah, bought my 360 for 30 bucks and most games for 2-3 dollarinos at the end of last gen.

It can't be different from MGSV because it is MGSV

He's mentally damaged you brain dead moron. He's affected by his guilt over not being able to save Paz and MSF. At points it's even externalised.

How fucking retarded are you people?

i feel the story will be interesting, but the combat will likely be MGS-esque.

don't try to explain it to them, these are people who genuinely think David Hayter is a good voice actor, lmao

Good thing V was just the same thing as GZ

>If you honestly think this lack of dialogue is acceptable, you might have a social autism and are just not picking up on the cues of something is wrong here.

A picture speaks 1,000 words.

Kino speaks 1,000,000

No. GZ was V without the shit motherbase stuff and the open world.

As I said. the base game is great, but it was ruined a bit by the motherbase and open world aspects. GZ had neither, and was therefore a much more tighter and enjoyable experience. TPP should have been more of that and less Ubisoft sandbox.

Did something happen? I thought Kojimas included Del Taco in his game?

You like GZ cause there was a big base which is fine but people who act like it's so much better than V are being ridiculous. It's the same shit with more things to do and mother base is cool. You essentially wanted a typical MGS but with a bit more freedom.

That was cringey as fuck

And actually it would be:

>"Snake we have a bogey on our tail!"
A BOGEY?!

>"Try to shake it, snake! Get on the minigun!"
SHAKE IT?! MINIGUN?!

>Quiet appears
>looks at her for 20 seconds
>grunts loudly
>spends the next 2 minutes describing her rifle

#performancematters

>You essentially wanted a typical MGS but with a bit more freedom.
God yes. That would have been great.

Instead we good cheat mode tier buddies and wasting 40 minutes for a thing to update like it's a damn freemium mobile game, and copy paste outposts that makes Farcry 2 look amazing by comparison.

I mean, it was still an okay game. I played it for like 90 hours for fuck sake. But it could have been so much more. It could have been fucking great instead of just mildly amusing.

Junji was involved with P.T. but they haven't been able to contact him since for whatever reason

Apparently Del Toro isn't even creatively involved in Death Stranding, he says he gave up videogames after Silent Hill.

I just made that picture for fun

Maybe YOU just don't like it. The game isn't for you, that doesn't mean thay it'ยข horrible. Grow the fuck up.

if the gameplay is as good as MGSV the story can be utter trash as far as I'm concerned.

I'd kill for another game with sneaking as good as playing MGSV with markers/reflex mode off
>tfw you replace reflex mode with a sawed off shotgun
GOAT

Going to have to agree

Just because you like it doesn't mean it's good.

If you're excited for this game you are the cancer defiling the industry. Day 1 dlc is your fault, limited content in $60 games is your fault, movie games are your fault.

The general consensus outside of Sup Forums is that the game is fantastic. Critics, fans, pretty much everyone.
Who the fuck are you? Who do you think you are? You're fucking nothing.

I didn't say it's horrible though. As I said, I played it for 90 hours. It's just that it's a shame that Kojima fell for the open world meme and "I'll do what the rest of the westerners are doing" instead of making a damn good game and realizing the strengths of the series.

Even more sad is that he had the opportunity for excellence. The game played really well, but he kinda fucked it up with the mechanics around it and making it for people who had never played the series. Which is a weird way to make the sendoff of the series.

MGS5 was rushed by Konami and then Kojima left, now he can do what he wants.

Pandering to fans and delivering sequels that are mechanically indentical to their predecessors are the worst things a creator can do. I hate this mentality. Part of what made me enjoy V so much is how he continued the story and gameplay of previous games but in a totally different way. It felt refreshing.

It's not really question about it being exactly the same. It's more about the fact that it clearly didn't merge well with the rest of the game and he didn't even try to make it something older fans would get a kick out of.

At that point it's just selling a game because of the name which is just as bad.

>It felt refreshing.
I disagree. It felt like I had already played MGSV to death only a few hours in since it uses the same formula like most other recent open world games. Fuck, even Farcry 3 had more challenging stealth than TPP did.

Ultimately this. I'm sad that MGS is done and V got cut short in vision but I'm also just happy he is somewhere else where his craft can really flourish and he doesn't just have to please investors.

>We will be teased by amazing trailers showing barely any gameplay until release
>. We will be fed false promises and the hype will build up until it's inevitable crash when we find out that the game is shit.
welcome to every game since 2005 pretty much

>I don't pay attention to anything

Both mgsv and ffxv had tons of gameplay a month or more before release. Only shitty western studios don't reveal shit about their game.

>and he doesn't just have to please investors
Oh, so he stopped making games together with Sony?

Kojima productions isn't listed on the stock exchange and Sony is giving him complete freedom to do what he wants.

fuck off kojishills

MGSV's story was Kojima making it abundantly clear that he hated the Metal Gear canon and that he'd rather be making games with deep messages about modern society and conflict.

MGSV sacrifices pretty much everything it means to be a Metal Gear game in terms of narrative to instead be a game about America's action post 9/11, juxtaposing it with the 1980s Soviet invasion of Afghanistan, and replacing Al-Quaeda with Cipher+OSama bin Skullface.

"Demo" prologue chapter named "Ground Zeroes" check one
Takes place in alternate reality Guantanamo Bay (in the same country as real Gitmo) where the character literally called "peace" get raped and tortured; definitely no political message there
Terrorists launch a devastating surprise attack, which become the motivation to chase them across the globe and invade afghanistan to find them

Morality message checklist;
Killing Skull face changes nothing; Killing bin Laden changed nothing
Big Boss/MSF are responsible for the PMC problem in Africa; The gulf war was responsible for the IRL PMC problem in Africa
Invade a second country due to rumors of Nuclear Weapons; Happens in both MGSV and real life
Liquid Snake is an aggressive, fight-mongering piece of shit whose greatest aspiration is use nuclear weapons to get what he wants; when the example you set includes using warfare and revenge to get what you want, its the children who suffer and are doomed to repeat THE SINS OF THE FATHER

>inb4 MGSV couldn't possibly be about post 9/11 american foreign policy because it takes place in 1984
yeah and Animal Farm is just some book about animals on a farm

>It's more about the fact that it clearly didn't merge well with the rest of the game
That's your opinion, not a fact.
>He didn't even try to make it something older fans would get a kick out of.
I got a kick out of it and I've been playing this series since 2000.
>Fuck, even Farcry 3 had more challenging stealth than TPP did..
That's called broken stealth. It's not challenging at all, it's not working properly.

This. Op is retarded

>That's your opinion, not a fact.
No shit.
>I got a kick out of it and I've been playing this series since 2000.
Lucky you.
>That's called broken stealth. It's not challenging at all, it's not working properly.
And still it was about as fun as the TPP stealth since you could actually get caught and punished.

>hey kojima, all the broken OP weapons you get through the motherbase isn't casual enough
>hm, slap on the Fulton system from PW so guards will never find bodies
>is that casual enough?
>no, let's copy the marking system from Farcry
>is that casual enough?
>No, let's add a cheat mode when you get caught
>is that casual enough?
>No, let's add some buddies that tell you where every guard is in your area
>is that casual enough?
>No, let's add a hat that makes you invisible

Man, it really depends on what you want from the game. I wanted freedom, immersion, nice music from the walkman, great mechanics and a checklist to do/ mother base to fill.

Had the time of my life and I usually can't stand open world games.

You're not forced to use Fulton, Markers, Hat or reflex mode. Having options is not a bad thing you dumb fuck. Kys.

>That was cringey as fuck

So he capture the feeling of MGS then?

Boss has PTSD, besides you can read his emotions with his body language

The controls were awesome, the missions were terrible.

>Go anywhere
>Have to sit for a long helicopter ride

Why was this a thing?

>THIS is what was wrong with V
If this is the worst thing about V's plot to you, then you have no fucking idea how stupid the whole thing gets if you delve deeper.

Venom being a non-character is a shitty, but a deliberate move on Kojima's part. But it's just the tip of the fucking iceberg.
