How do you feel about Nintendo charging us $20 for the rest of our $60 game?

How do you feel about Nintendo charging us $20 for the rest of our $60 game?

Nintenfags are actually defending this

Will I be able to fuck Zelda in one of them?

>how do you feel about one extra dungeon
Feels like I might like it, but I need to know more.

>b-but all DLC is cut content
Fuck off my nigga

>content made after a game is finished should be included in the final product
Really gotta think about this one

Seems like they are just following industry standard. 20 is a fair price for extra story content

>the rest
isn't it just extra?
except maybe the hard mode, but that depends what they specifically mean by "new hard mode"

nobody is defending it

I honestly do not see the big controversy over this. $20 isn't a lot, and Nintendo has been good with DLC in the past.

Are people just scared because DLC is always associated with the shitty practices of AAA gaming so now they think Nintendo is suddenly going to go full jew like Capcom and EA?

>have to pay $20 extra for hard mode
And the best part is, people will pay for it!

>all dlc is cut content

When the fuck are sonyggers getting a containment board?

If it's good content than it's good

Nintendo did something so we need 10 threads shitposting about it whether it's good or bad

I'm probably not gonna get BOTW nor its DLC, but is there any AAA game in the industry that doesn't have DLC? Why is it a problem when Nintendo does it?

>Why is it a problem when Nintendo does it?

Gamers hold Nintendo to a higher standard. When Nintendo is suppose to be 'based', yet pulls the same bullshit as other companies, it upsets people. It's expected of Sony and Microsoft to be slimy.

I know Sup Forums is too stupid to consider this notion, but consider the possibility that game itself is finished, but Nintendo still wanted to incorporate certain things into the game that never made it in. Look at how much content from Ocarina of Time got pushed into Wind Waker. Hot damn! If the main-game takes 400 hours to complete and Nintendo just wants to put together another romp through the game without A. delaying the game. or B. having to make a new game, then by all means shove that DLC down my throat.

You memers are always complaining about MUH CUT DUNGEONS IN WIND WAKER! Well, finally Nintendo has a solution to add more dungeons in if anything was cut, and you complain about that too?

Damned if they do, damned if they don't.

Goddamn the thumbnail looks like Zelda with a huge cleavage window.

If they didn't offer DLC for extra cost, they'd have to delay all games by months, and then increase their prices by $30-40 to make up for it.

Also, they do it because they can.

its just weird to see nintendo dlc....regardless of what they've done in the past. Traditionally i kinda expect their games to be fully packaged, cut and dry

It's the reality of the industry now. Nintendo would be moronic not to push out extra DLC, especially with a fanbase as retarded and rabid as Zelda.

>OOT content on WW

Examples?

>WOW SO MUCHS STUFFS FROM OCARINA
>Most of the Dungeons, contents and Hyrule were cut out of the game.

Also, 400h for BotW? More like 10 hours without all the padding.

see

Nintendo's growing up T-T

But Nintendo going full jew is not even a recent thing, and Nintendo has normalized their fair share of questionable practices in gaming. With that said, I agree with you on why this is a big controversy. You were a fool if you weren't expecting post-release DLC, it was just a surprise they announced it pre-release.

I directly asked for examples.

DLC is a shitty practice, doesn't matter which company applies it.

That's not content, it is concepts, at best.

You know what fuck

I am a fucking retard. Didn't see the pic.

Holy shit, you are so deep in trolling, you can't even comprehend the irony of your own post.

Ah, my mistake. i.4cdn.org/v/1487273923188.jpg

its fine by me as long as its truly extra content, as in worked on after the game's release, and not meant as a "real" ending to the game, but rather a different perspective of the story not seen before. Otherwise its usually cash grab

So they just ripped out entirety of the story, essential items and a difficulty mode that makes this piss easy game somewhat enjoyable?

What a bunch of jews.

they did that with mario kart 8 too.

There is no irony, you posted conecpts, not content.

There is no way to defend what Nintendo is doing.

Less dungeons, a bunch of mini puzzles based on physics, the dungeons are smaller than the TP ones.

Stop defending this garbage.

I generally don't have a problem with DLC.
I DO have a problem with announcing DLC before the fucking game is even out.

>people are actually trying to defend a new hard mode being paid DLC

Watch Gamexplain. They'll shut you haters up.

>fellate Federation Force and Color Splash to continue getting review copies
nah

>Nintendofags getting blown the fuck about because their precious $400 game is even more expensive
>Come out in full force with excuses for cut content

Wow, really makes you think, huh?

>implying Majoras Mask wasn't a 90's form of DLC

it looks even worse as a lot of people complain how modern games are too easy....what do you call it when there's no hard mode to alleviate that to some degree?

>a 90's form of DLC
You mean like some kind of, what is it, er, "expand pack"?

you mean an expansion pack?
dumb underage

That is the irony, you blind dolt. You're complaining about all that when a season pass means there's no reason for that to ever happen again. But whatever helps you sleep at night.

Nobody is defending it. The base game has more content than most games. Nobody is forcing you to buy the Season Pass, the game will be perfectly fine without it. Nintendo is not the only company to do this. Game companies only release DLC, because people buy it. If consumers didn't buy it, companies would not release it.
Is there anything I left out?

PAID season pass.

It is like you are paying 80 dollars for a funcking game.

which is not this, why? the content isn't made yet.

Yeah, the part where Pack 1 includes shit that should have been in the base game.

It's cool.

>It is like you are paying 80 dollars for a funcking game.
you mean like you've been doing for the last 10 years?

Nooooo, really? How long did it take you to calculate that difficult math problem?

Of course it has to $80. They have to sell the initial product, which on its own is worth $60. They're not going to just work on another fifth of the game for free after that and not expect to get compensated.

It's like you have a two second attention span.

>The base game has more content than most games
Based on what? Where are you getting these numbers? What games are you comparing them too? Most AAA RPGs can most certainly stand up against it, and there are PLENTY of smaller, more niche action adventures that hold plenty of gametime without a $400 entry point and an additional $20 just to enjoy some meagre content.

>doesn't read the 4 posts above him

On contraire, I am defending it.

>The base game has more content than most games

[Citation Needed]

>inb4 a big huge dead world filled with nothing coupled with unrewarding and lazy combat is content

No Man's Sky has more content than Breath of the Wild.

It probably isn't cut content, but when DLC is 1/3 the price of the game, it better have a lot of content. Not exactly expecting 1/3 of a games content, but it should be close

...

I have mixed feelings about it. I think it's gay in the sense that they took part of the game off and are charging extra money for it. On the other hand, the $60 price point, while it has been the standard for a while, is arguably arbitrary, as some games are worth more or less than $60. I would gladly pay $100 for a solid Zelda experience, if it were guaranteed to be one of the better games in the series.

fuck off its fucking $20

I would pay $1000 if a game could top Ocarina of Time.

It's bullshit
What a shame that Nintendo is selling dlc in a game that's not even out yet let alone a Zelda game

Regardless if it's cut directly from the game files or not, the ideas were there and set aside specifically to be DLC.

Which is somehow even more dishonest. Nintendo is the scum of the universe, along with many others, and all deserve to burn.

I never thought it would happen to Zelda.

And the funny part is, Nintendo explicitly stated at one point that they would never do that.

The "bonus" and first pack should be free, like 200cc in MK8.

The second pack should be the first pack of the expansion with something better coming later.

But no.

they weren't defending it, they mostly said they didn't care

Hero mode is already confirmed to be free with the game. Hard mode is the DLC

>cut content shitposting again
REPEAT AFTER ME: IT'S ONLY OKAY WHEN SONY DOES IT

>b-but all DLC is cut content

Iwata said that.
Now he's dead so anything goes.

>$400 entry point
Just buy it for Wii U if you don't want a switch. The cost of a console shouldn't be included with a game, because that logic could be applied to literally any game that isn't available on every platform.
>Halo is Microsoft exclusive? As a PS4 owner I can't justify its $400 price tag.
>Uncharted is Sony exclusive? As an Xbone owner I can't justify its $400 price tag.
>Runescape is only on PC? I don't own a laptop, so I can't justify its $400 price tag.
>Pokemon Sun is only on 3DS? I don't have a 3DS, so I can't justify its $200 price tag.

I hate that they do this, but in nintendo games is really not necessary to buy DLC.

I got the fates DLC and it broke the fucking game, i was overpowered as fuck and completed conquest wrecking everyone.

Dont buy nintendo DLC, you will be fine.

>Hard mode is the DLC
Why is it okay now?
It's shit when anyone does it.

Well, I guess DLC is a way for the game companies to own some profit for used games sales.

Get fucked toddlers

Source?

What makes you think Nintendo is the only company who ever gets shit for making DLC.
People are getting angry at Nintendo because they've been living in some illusion thinking
>N-nintendo is the only company left who makes REAL games
and now they're waking up.

>I got the fates DLC and it broke the fucking game
It was also the actual ending to Birthright and that disaster that was Conquest's story.

So it is ok when Nintendo does it?

And no, I don't buy season pass and DLCs.

Nobody knows for sure, since the game isn't released. But honestly most AAA games besides a few RPGs can be beat in a weekend or are just multiplayer lobbies. I would wager Zelda has an above average amount of content.

user, those statements are from 5 years ago, a lot has changed since then - including Iwata dying.

>but it's a DIFFERENT hard mode
whoa you mean like some kind of VERY hard mode

>Cave of Trials is DLC
>Hard Mode is DLC
>Additional Map Feature

The fuck is an additional map feature? Also what does Hard Mode even do? I thought the whole point of BotW is that it was supposed to be at least somewhat challenging compared to the last 20 years of braindead gameplay.

>inb4 Hard Mode just increases enemy health/damage

Fuck off, Nintendo.

>New original story
>>For a game that already has no story/the exact same fucking story the franchise has had since 1986

I can't even.

So it is LITERALLY OK when Nintendo does it.

Stop changing the subject, drone.

Also this game doesn not worth 60 dollars, it has less content than SS, excepet for a giant barren empty overworld.

Iwata is dead.

Think about that.

You say "the rest of" but it's next to nothing, really. The only big thing is the dungeon that comes out in a year.
Compared to shit like Halo 5, Destiny, or Fallout 4, it's nothing. Don't buy the pass. Just get the second DLC at the end of the year. There will probably be a piracy method by then, too.

>Cave of Trials is DLC
>something that was even in fucking Wind Waker, a game rushed as fuck
>another difficulty setting that should be in the game
>a map feature that should be in the game
I mean, it's not the worst "expansion pack" but it's pretty high on the list.

>one guy dies so the company reinvents itself into EA of Japan overnight

Really tickles my pistachios

Iwata was a liar anyway. He ushered in this cancer-infested era.

Nobody deserves such an obtuse death, but Iwata never deserved his position. Japan fell for the Peter Principle meme, and now they're suffering (I guess, although not really because people still buy their shit) by not knowing when the fuck to let go.

>Miyamoto
>Aonuma
>Fujibayash
>Everybody at EPD

It's time to let go, Triad Boss-kun. Clean house, reset the timeline.

I'm hoping hard mode is a master quest mode, because it mouldn't make any senes if it was just hero mode.

The really fucked up thing is that higher difficulty modes appeal to seasoned players who have been playing games since the 80's / 90's, and now they're acting like that's a "special feature" that you have to pay extra for. It's a betrayal to their most loyal fans.

No, higher difficulty modes should be something fundamental to any game.

The rest of the company was just waiting for him to die.

We don't even know if Cave of Trials is dlc. The wording makes it sounds like it's just Cave of Trials round 2.

>overnight
again, 5 fucking years passed since those statements

halo 5 doesn't have any dlc lol

>It's okay for Nintendo to lie to us since this arbitrary amount of time has passed!

The mental gymnastics of you toddler cucks never ceases to amaze me.

...
