Shenmue 1 and 2 helped the 6th generation

You were not born during the late 90s but the good things that happened because of Shenmue are so many I can't name it

I'm not trolling. I'm not saying the death of Dreamcast was a good thing but it's pretty much not related to Shenmue 1 and 2.

Because of Shenmue people really took gaming seriously. You may find it boring and slow because of the "cinematic'' aspect but it helped to boom the japanese industry. The expectation for the next Shenmue is what made Sega be a respected developer despite the failures of Saturn and Dreamcast.

Ok but Sega isn't making the next Shenmue, and its being made on a fraction of the budget of its predecessors. Its not going to be anywhere near the level of those old games, let alone doing anything interesting for a modern game

The budget is not that low user. There are investors behind it. Sure they won't release the numbers because they want people to think it's a kickstarter® project.

I still think it can be a decent follow up to 2 and considering it's 3,5+ years in development I can't see how they can fuck up.
