and that's the last one.
Appreciate it. Can you post the rest of the quote where Aonuma was talking about other open world games? It was cut off at the bottom
sure, I'll just type out the rest.
"While playing those games, I do find some ideas, but it's not that it connects directly to Zelda to where I would take something and use it in Zelda. It's more of something to keep in the back of my head while developing the game."
Thanks alot
anyone else getting kinda worried that they refuse to show off weapon crafting? Either they are saving surprises or maybe it kinda sucks. Also they say no invincible weapons, but I'm pretty sure they said there will be weapons that don't "break" or deteriorate, so I guess invincible just means "all powerful?"
>In order to create more of a cohesive storyline, we added this element in there that will make it a bit more streamlined for every player. This is something I can't reveal right now, but when you play you will find out."
WHAT THE FUCK DOES HE MEAN. WHAT DOES IT MEAAAAAAN
A diary where Link takes notes on how far he has gotten with each girl
I don't know how you fucking streamline a story
God I hope he's not talking about voice-acting
You don't have to read, just listen, it's streamlined
Except I fucking don't want voice-acting in Zelda, Hylian gibberish or bust
There is a Zelda thread on /hr/ and you post here?
thank you so much for scanning this. can't believe it's only 2 weeks away now. feels like an entirety of waiting.
Reminds me of the Chozo.
I'd probably sneak into the final boss just to listen to his theme, only to get rekt and leave.
maybe he means anime cutscenes that recap anything you missed.
It means that Link is a tomato.
big ass world is great and all but I want to some more indoor areas, like the shrines, but I guess they wouldn't want to spoil some of the stuff in the game.
i'm sure every town will have indoor areas as well
Gibberish is shit and only Gibdos should speak it.
LITERALLY 4 DUNGEONS
SHRINES ARE FILLER
MASTER SWORD CAN BREAK
STORY SUCKS
OVERWORLD IS EMPTY
We already know there's going to be voice-acting, though.
Zelda is a ghost, calling it now.
The shrines worry me most. What are they? Little mini puzzle areas. There's over a hundred of them. And nobody cares.
Only Aonuma is excited for them because even though this is the "exploration adventure inspired by Zelda 1", it still needs to be a game about solving puzzles.
everyone will care when they realize the best item upgrades are tied to the shrines.
>go to shrine
>do puzzles that forces you to slow down and think for a bit in a comfy area
>get awesome item or item upgrade (glider and bombs already confirmed tied to shrines)
>go out and use new items to get to new areas and fight enemies in new ways and find new shrines
>repeat
already a very comfy game right there, plus dungeons and a story and towns and side quests on top FUCK GOAT
Not the first time.
Splitting all the dungeon content up into shrines is the biggest sign that Aonuma doesn't get it.
Good dungeon design is about having a complex maze with multiple options and directions available to the player at any one time requiring spacial reasoning and deeper thought to solve.
The reason recent dungeons have been shit tier is because Aonuma games have specifically avoided this and just been a long line of baby puzzle rooms like how every windwaker dungeon is a straight line with no backtracking or ever having more than one key. Looks like we can already write BotW off since it'll only have 4 shitty tiny dungeons.
>Master Sword can break
N E W Timeline
>Master Sword is destroyed Timeline
>Master Sword lives Timeline
What do we actually, 100% know for sure about BotW's timeline placement anyway? The part here where Aonuma says it takes place after OoT is the only thing I've seen that actually had a source.
Don't you mean downfall and not downfall.
pretty easy to see it takes place after wind waker too because of the Korok
That would be my guess too (or at least somewhere in the adult timeline), but I've seen a lot of conflicting information floating around.
Because they care about the timeline so much
I was under the impression that it was cut-scene only
For the love of god I hope I can mute the voice-acting only and not have to play the game on mute
It's very likely cutscene only. There are tons of text boxes, like talking to big bird and that guy with the beard.
Red mage best mage
actually blue mage is, but Zelda doesn't really have enemy-skill stealing
Or that guy talking about the white horse on mount... Salu...something
Fucked if I know, I don't have the game yet so its' geography is all up in the air
I'm still pretending the events of TFH is just a storybook scenario that never actually happened. The whole fucking setting is stupidly tacky and out of place even for a Zelda game.
It triggers the shit outta me that there's an existing Link being featured in a different artstyle than his introductory game.
This is probably the single most egregious attempt to force Toon Link into a Zelda title ever.
why does zelda look preggors? whose baby is it?
>I wanted to create a game where users cold have fun dying
This is exactly what I've wanted so for fucking long!
>implying there will be even 10 total useful things that enhance gameplay found in shrines
Too many shrines.
beedle's obviously
>4 dungeons
>lots of little puzzles scattered through the maps
hol the fuck up
>MM is best 3d zelda
>4 dungeons
>lots of little puzzles scattered through the maps
this nips a fucking genius man i swear to god
youtube.com
Is he in? He was the one who christened the surface world Grooseland before some retards came in and named it Hyrule. He also saved the entire world from destruction in the first game in the series chronologically. He deserves to re-appear in some form.
She's just fat.
DELETE
All the important characters are dead and talking to you via the Sheikah Slate from beyond the grave. So most of the story is actually in the past and relived through memories. This way you can bypass a chronological story and let players go wherever they want and they will all unlock the story elements in a different order
calling it
Thanks OP, for once, you weren't a total fag!
Zelda looks pregnant or something here.
so the true ending is when you hear everyone's story you unlock the master MASTER sword which makes calamity ganon a breeze and kills him for good.
>Master Sword doesn't exist in Zelda 1 and 2
>Which both fall under the hero is defeated timeline
Wouldn't it fit there?
Daily reminder that Game Informer is openly biased against Nintendo, and will likely stop acknowledging them after November (at best) unless Smash is announced this E3.
The spirit orbs are used to upgrade link so yeah.
>LITERALLY 4 DUNGEONS
Where?
well with how pro-nintendo everyone else is it balances out.
Yes its clearly downfall timeline. The sword is gonna be put in lost woods for ALTTP link to grab.
I guess.
Are there even any other multiplatform gaming magazines out now? Is EGM still around?
If you beat Ganon without the completed Master Sword, then you can't seal away evil, so Ganon's powers, without corporeal body, enter the recently awakened and thus weakened Hero (who is lacking the Triforce of Courage's protection)
Link becomes a Ganon Puppet like Zelda in TP
Most people are assuming pic related, but I feel like that wouldn't take 20 years to implement.
>Western gaming media
>Pro-Nintendo
Maybe when a Mario game comes around. They're fucking incredibly biased the rest of the time.
We're just going off the divine beasts. There's 4. So 4 dungeons, 5 if you include Ganon's Castle.
Of course thats just speculation. There might very well be more but its best to assume that there's at the very least 5 so you're not disappointed.
>the ethereal evil known as Calamity Ganon
Is he called Calamity Ganon in other languages as well? I think in the trailer the old lady says something along the lines of "the calamity known as Ganon" in every language beside English.
...
yeah that's probably it. I guess he means he's wanted to do it for 20 years, but it wasn't until they went open world that it made sense to do
Shitposting aside, don't you have to power up and upgrade your Master Sword every other game? That sword has never been immune to wear and tear though I speculate it will just lose a good fraction of its power instead of breaking or something.
>I ride alongside a cliff that reminds me of Twilight Princess. I initially assume it's a natural border for the world, one that would kill me if I jumped down. I'm shocked to learn that if I leap into the deep ravine and float using my paraglider, I can reach the bottom and explore.
There was another interview they did where it says it was something he wanted to put in for his entire dev career. I don't know if that's interesting enough.
Well, as a storytelling device it makes sense, but I think my issue is more that he's keeping this "element" a giant secret like he came up with the greatest idea ever. I'd be a bit disappointed if all it is are flashbacks
So now that I finally finished Skyward Sword despite owning it since release, I believe Wind Waker is the only console 3D Zelda I never finished. I emulated it through the first dungeon, but dropped it for some reason. If I pick it back up, think I can finish it in two weeks before the new one if I'm playing just a few hours a day? Is it longer or shorter than Skyward Sword?
Wind Waker is pretty damn short, far shorter than Skyward Sword. Assuming you're not aiming for 100%, you should be fine.
If you rush, you can beat it in 20 hours
It's not a very long game. If you do play it again emulate the HD version as that makes sailing and the triforce hunt more bearable. Trust me
>conflicting information
Such as?
Is CEMU that far along yet? I'm actually wondering if I should buy it for Wii U since it's only $13
Will they just fucking release the 3 hours footage they have? Their articles are so shit
pirating it for wiiu is insanely easy
gamexplain has a load
I don't like to hack consoles until I've moved on to their successor. If I ever end up with a Switch, I'd hack it in a minute. I'm trying to look for an excuse to hack my Wii but there's nothing I really need to do that for.
it's not hacking in most senses. you change the DNS and go to a website, and it loads the game loarder on your SD card. Change the DNS back and it's back to normal.
What did you think of Skyward Sword?
"Zelda, you're GLOWING..."
it's an empire waist dress
I dropped it in 2011 right before the Sandship. Either I didn't like it or something else at that time was distracting me. Skyrim and MGS HD just released, maybe those. Also I think I got addicted to Mario Galaxy 2 at that time. Anyway, life story aside, I did like it this time around. I get a better feel for the motion controls and appreciated a lot of things about it.
In the Spain one she says it's "caused by Ganon" so the connection is vague, but strong enough to denote they are the same.
OoT already handled this fantastically with the gouge in Gerudo Valley.
I'm betting it all on Decline timeline, after OoT.
The article says the dungeons are smaller this time, so I doubt there'd be only 4. The dungeon he plays doesn't relate to a beast or anything like that.
Can't wait for the butthurt since a lot of Sup Forums claims Downfall isn't canon and hate the concept
Here.
gonintendo.com
Aonuma apparently said that there's no particular connection between BotW and WW's scenarios, if the translation is to be believed. Not actually sure how credible it is.
>Link has been asleep for 100 years while Hyrule falls around him
so why did he need to sleep for 100 years? place your bets now. with how important the deku tree is I think it will be something dumb like we needed to wait for the deku tree to be 100 to tell us where the mastersword is
