OoT
>Malnourished zombies with a bloodcurdling screech followed by a wrap around that terified millions of kids and gave them nightmares
Wind Waker
>Creepy Blue pirate corpses that shamble with elephant screeches and chew you to bits
Twilight princess
>Durr Mummy with a big sword, ooh scary.

What the fuck were they thinking?

Seem more like Gibdos to me. Not that they weren't just Redeads with a different model or anything.

how about they come up with a new enemy instead.

Those were originally called Gibdos in the jap version, renamed Redead in the english one because they're more iconic than Gibdos.

>this guy slaps your gf's ass what do you do

...

Man, I hope they're terrifying again in BotW.

Wind Waker´s redeads weren´t creepy, their oversized heads made them look comical.

I arbitrarily judge mainline zelda titles by the quality of their horror dungeons. I have no idea why but whenever Zelda really wants to do horror it does so very well.

Skyward sword was disappointing in this regard.

>Redeads more iconic
>Gibdos were around since LOZ and were in OOT and MM

I actually agree that Redeads are more iconic, just weird how that worked out

SS had a horror dungeon?
Was it supposed to be the pirate ship?

Ancient cistern would count. Zombified bokoblins

SS had one really dark room. And rather than actually make a Zombie enemy they just gave us ANOTHER version of the Bokoblin.

At least the Stalmaster was neat.

Just the bottom of ancient cistern. Not even a hint of a redead anywhere, just one small area of spook

Nothing, because my wife hates me and constantly tells me what a piece of shit I am.

Postal Dude, that you?

The worst part about SS is that everything humanoid that wasn't a miniboss was a Bokoblin. It felt so tiring.

Get your nostalgia goggles off.

The ReDeads in OoT and MM were only scary because you played them as a kid. They are just some naked hunchback dudes with a weird wooden face and they use a stock scream sound efffect.

And this is different from RE zombies, and Silent hill enemies ....How?

>that bulge
HHHHNNNGGGGG

>followed by a wrap around that terified millions of kids and gave them nightmares

Really? It gave me an erection.

Do NOT sexualize the ReDead

>with a weird wooden face
It's a mask. See

We are not discussing RE and SH.
Anyway, they are enemies in survival horror games, don't look cartoony and don't use a stock sound effect of some woman screaming, at least.

What was the deal with these ones anyways?

they screech too though.

Fun fact: Majoras incarnation does these three dances when you fight it

Ergo, Majora' s Incarnation is a giant redead

What is Majora anyways? Just an evil force inhibiting the mask?

you are so off its not even funny

oh my fuck it's true

Those are gibdo user, not redeads. Learn the difference.

What? When does Majora ever dance?

Mid combat. Incarnation's attacks are super sporadic, but they follow a pattern,

1. It can-cans all over the place at lightning speed doing a russian hat dance like kick
2. When it sends energy balls in place, it does that clapping one
3. It twirls like a ballerina almost constantly when you try to chase it down

Pretty much. Majora's Mask was created from an evil dragon entity that was forced to dance to death.

When you fight him.

I think they were a band of entertainers that died and got cursed. If you talk to them with the Gibdo mask they tell you that I think, though I'm probably remembering wrong.

The manga isn't canon, come on.

>TFW he does the moonwalk

see
3:03 for russian hat
3:49 for twirl
4:02 for clap thing

It also moonwalks.

Holy fuck, I never realized this.

Majora also hums the final dungeon theme from the original Zelda on NES while doing one of the dances

They're Gibdos
Still doesn't excuse the shitty quiet roar they got

I think you're making that up, but it's still cool.

Makes sense, kind of wish we knew more about the Ikana Royal Family desu.

Termina as a whole was really cool.

I'd always sun song these faggots so hard

I think somebody (the researcher?) says Redeads were members of the Roayal Court and not soldiers. As in just stuff like entertainers.

The soldiers were the skelingtons.

>probably remembering wrong
They don't talk to you, period. The Gibdos outside the music house do.
>makes sense
You're a retard.

To this day, there is still something viscerally unsettling about Majora's Incarnation. Maybe it's that it reminds me of the harmless mischief of the Skull Kid and the children inside the moon in the way that it dances around and actively ignores you, and yet you still have to kill it.

>You're a retard.

Well then why the fuck are they dancing? Seriously, give me your best explanation.

Something about the fact it's only slightly taller than adult Link is what unnerves me the most.

The entirety of the Moon is pretty unsettling especially when you talk to each of the children.

Fun fact: Each of the Moon children look like the HMS.

>the HMS
The what?

Happy Mask Salesman.

Oh. You mean under the masks? Now that's creepy.

...

You can see it pretty easily here.

> The thing I like with a creepy and menacing description, this is the best one

> The other thing I like with and equally tryhard threatening description to try to pass as cool, this option is nice but not as good as the first one

> The thing I don't like with a simplistic and satirical description. It sucks because I say so.

OP demonstrating that he's a faggot once again.

I'll be a faggot with him then.

AHH... you were at my side, ALL ALONG..

What does it mean?

Probably nothing.

I thought WW Redeads would be shit because I saw the artwork/descriptions first but they're really offputting in action.

Those who hacked the 3DS version found this.

It always amuses me how well Nintendo games do horror segments/details/Easter eggs
I guess Nintendo likes spooking kids

Gibdos are just fucking mummies with a different name.

>Grezzo sticking their gay fan theories into the game

jk it was pretty obvious. One of the shits even said he wanted to be salesman.

Still begs the question of why he's on the moon?

The angry moon is the scary mask on the outside, but the tranquil garden is the good, though misguided Skull Kid on the inside. The Happy Mask Salesman is projected as being innocent children because the Skull Kid actually feels like the HMS was innocent and that everything is his own fault.

That's my take on it that I just came up with thirty seconds ago, anyway.

*liked

>that fucking cossack dance

>pulling "lore" out your ass
mummy dad doesn't say shit about entertainers
only things he mentions are a treasure in the well still being searched for by the spirits of the people turned to gibdos and that garo are ghosts of ninjas

I know it's mentioned somewhere though.

Fuck I have to pull out my copy or something.

zeldawiki.org/Garo
The Garos tell you that the redeads are entertainers

Well being the earliest entry in the timeline you can't really have a lot of ancient dead cursed dungeons.

Or maybe it's a presentation of Majora's insanity and power, he raised the dead, and had them dance.

There was big war in the game's backstory though.

Demise rants on about all the people he's killed but you meet like 5 stalfos in the entire game.
