Intel literally on suicide watch

Intel literally on suicide watch.
Ryzen's single-thread performance wasn't too impressive though.

Sup Forums's single-thread performance isn't impressive either.

>barely ahead of the 5960
>a cpu from 2 years 7 months ago

The 6900K, Intel's newest 8 core CPU, is barely better than the 5960X. Half the price for 10% less performance in workstation applications is insane.

the 5960 is expensive as shit though

>$200 CPU barely ahead of a $1100 CPU
No shit.

Where does the i5 3570k get in Passmark?

Between the FX-8370 and I5-7600K.

>Be me
>Z77 mobo dies in 3770k build
>Replace with new mobo and 7700k
>7700k loses to the 3770k in some benchmarks
What has Intel even been doing?

...

How easily do you think it'll burn my house down?

>200 dollar
>marking the cpu down by 200 dollars when its a 400 dollar cpu
>1100
>a discontunued
CPU goes up in price
>who would have guessed

...

Again, it was replaced by the 6900K which is also over $1000.

Latest leak says max TDP is 95W, but the source is unreliable so we'll just have to wait and see.

And? AMD has no chip out that competes with it.

You keep saying how the 5960X is two years old but Intel's CPU's haven't improved significantly in 6 years so that's irrelevant. The point is that AMD is offering a $400 CPU with close to the same performance as a $1000 Intel CPU, which is a big deal no matter how you look at it.

>improvement
Why bother when they don't need to?

In nearly 8 years time AMD hasn't released a single cpu to compete with intels top tier.

And everytime AMD announces a new CPU it's some might god killer of a cpu, and then it hits and it's fucking a let down, like always.

>he believes these benchmarks
>after bulldozer benchmarks

How many threads do you run simultaneously on Sup Forums? I am usually an 8 thread person myself

The only reason Skylake outperforms it is because of increased bandwidth. The i7-4790k outperforms the 7700k, but the 7700k beats it in real world tests because much higher bandwidth

"what is the Athlon, Alex?"

Intel has been pretty clear of what their goal is now which is getting thermals down. They want that phone market. AMD on the other hand is playing a catchup game.

Something that came out nearly two decades ago.

>Athlon X4
He's probably refering to the X4, which was shit anyways.

...

Zen 1700X yes or no? Obviously waiting for real world benchmarks but looks pretty good so far unless Intel drops an overpriced bomb on it six months later.

why is my i7 6700k already outdated

Are you me? I went from a 3770k z77 to a 7700k z270 just a couple weeks ago. Feels like a mistake.

edit the logo to say dead instead of intel

Anywhere from 1 thread to 20 depending on the date and time.

It's not really. The R5 1400X (4C/8T) looks like it will be cheaper than the i7 6700K/7700K but the single core performance won't be as good.

Why is ARK so fucking garbage now? It used to be fine now it's confusing as fuck.

Yep. Get a high end MSI board and 16GB 3200mhz CAS 14 DDR4 G Skill Trident Z. That's what I'm getting
