Konami decided to give us a new Bomberman game for consoles and what we got? An overpriced rehash for Switch. It would be OK as a 10-20 dollars game but 50 dollars for a Bomberman game of that kind? While similar Bomberman games like Bomberman Ultra cost 10 dollars?
Konami decided to give us a new Bomberman game for consoles and what we got? An overpriced rehash for Switch...
>Bomberman Ultra cost 10 dollars?
Bomberman Ultra doesn't have singeplayer and co-op campaigns
Still 50 dollars are too much. If it was a new 3D Bomberman game like the one they cancelled for 3DS I would gladly pay that much for it.
>Kids today think cartoony classic Bomberman isn't worth $50
>Well make it grimdark and edgy like their Gears of War and Call of Duty
That's how we get Act Zero.
If the single player is solid and the multiplayer is plentiful, there isn't anything overpriced about it.
Why should it be $20? Because the graphics aren't For Honor tier?
I $30 in rewards on my best buy card from buying a new TV with my tax return so I said fuck it and pre-ordered this
I'M gonna get it for $20, suck my nuts OP
I'm gonna buy it. I would rather they take Bomberman 94 or Saturn and add online, but I NEED a populated way to play Bomberman online. The clones are so bad.
Just fucking buy it so Konami keeps making video games.
imagine seeing this and then suddenly: braaaaaaaaaaaapt
> give us a new Bomberman game
>overpriced rehash
what did you expect user?
Bomberman 360 2?
Konami put up the opening on their youtube. It's great if you enjoy cheesy dubs.
Cry me a river. If you think the game isn't worth the price don't buy it
This is modern Konami what else did you expect?
Green is gay as fuck
Back in the day we'd pay $70 just for a shitty port of a port so you get off Konamis nuts.
Is it jewey
yeah
but its worth it for the Sup Forums lobbies
Why is it March 2017 for us and not explicitly the 3rd? Are we getting it a little later?
That's how a retard think
$50 is not too much. this game isn't using old assets.
or just don't buy anything and let it die. i'll be getting this but there's no place in 2017 for a game like Bomberman. in today's age take the $50 and spend it on Fire Emblem orbs instead.
>Bomberman Sup Forumseekends
Which system is going to get the definitive version of bomber man?
I don't want konami to make videogames anymore.
youtube.com
Japanese version which has Buggler voiced by Eggman.
it is 3D. it is just locked in a grid
Wow, I haven't seen this in a long time. What the fuck was the name of the song, I need to hear this again
oh shit its 50?
nice. I wouldve done 60
The arcade halls
it was cringe garbage is what it was
awful meme
I meant the original, but not bad.
There were far, far worse.
fukkrita
How many times has Bagular had his name changed?
Who will get the home port?
You know I keep making jokes about Osomatsu-san with the Bomberman brothers. But this is getting silly.
>White: Osomatsu
>Black: Karamatsu
>Blue: Ichimatsu
>Yellow: Jyushimatsu
>Green: Todomatsu
Chronomatsu is the one who gets shafted.
>Overpriced rehash
So you've played it then? What's the future like, Mr. Timetraveler?
it's fucking bomberman you entitled fag. you had better buy it
Lords of Shadow was meh but it wasn't that bad.
Lords of Shadow 2 on the other hand, oh boy that's a whole another story.
I like it
hopefully it gets more languages
cause I would love to hear them in german
Lords of shadow 2 had better combat gameplay than the first. Just everything else was bad
The OP of this thread the same as I ask because both seem concerned with games being fun and not graphically impressive compared to whatever other platform they own.
What are the recommended Bomberman games? I think the only ones I've ever played were the Max 2 versions.
Every bomberman on Nintendo 64 and Gamecube
Bomberman Fantasy (and bomberman party edition is pretty nice too)
Bomberman Saturn is also good
they're all gay
all the guys fuck on a daily basis
the saturn and snes ones are the best
Super series, 64 games, Saturn, Tournament and Custom Battler.
Here's a little reminder for the people on Sup Forums who like to bitch about the price of modern games.
>It's okay if it's overpriced, it used to be like that before!
The point is inflation would cause games to cost nearly twice as much now, faggot.
$60 has been the standard for games for like 30 years.
Why would modern games, which are objectively better than retros magically become cheaper?
imagine buying tetris for $55
Now it comes bundled with another game and costs $30. Puyo Puyo tetris seems fun as well.
S-source?
>which are objectively better than retros
lol
My family did. I remember playing it brand new with commercials for it still playing on the TV.
No regrets. My family all together easily has put over 1000 hours into the game.
>$60 has been the standard for games for like 30 years.
lol no
that started with ps3/360
$50 was the standard for quite awhile, but there was still random titles with other prices like earthworm jim 64
Oh you baiting faggot. Why would you say that in a bomberman thread of all things? At best this is going to play like the SNES games.
>Bomberman Ultra
That gave your loyalties away. At least call it Bomberman Live if you had any intention to be subtle.
i don't understand how you could enjoy a puzzle game that much
Nostalgia faggots are fucking pathetic for genuinely believing this shit.
New games have...
>Better graphics
>Better music
>Better sound effects/design
>Voice acting
>Added mechanics not possible before
>Controls with more than 3 buttons
>3D
>Better stories
>Gameplay that's generally on par with retros (if not better) because they were inspired by them
>Joysticks with smoother movement
>Less FPS lag
>Games that last longer than 5 hours
yozakura quartet
How old are you?
I don't get it why doesn't bombergirl have titties?
Is it any less valid than the dedication some people show to fighting games or shooters or RTS?
new games are able have those things but often they don't. only very infrequently does an instant classic appear in the modern industry where the past era is filled with much more and better classics

puzzle games can get intense man.
youtu.be
at least those genres have more to them than just falling blocks
because super bomberman r is clearly a cashgrab
the real new bomberman is in arcades
yeah but puyo puyo is inherently directly competitive, i can see how people would want to keep playing it. the original tetris is a single player arcade falling block game. how can you spend thousands of hours on it after better games came out, even pong is more fun.
>Fucking Unity engine
Cheap fucking jews at Konami. They couldn't even get it running well.
Some people are into that, dude. For the past year, I've put far more gaming time into Simon Tatham's Portable Puzzle Collection than any "real" game.
Underage go to bed.
N64 games were like $70-80 on average.
I purchased super mario rpg the day it released for $120. FF7 was $70 on release. $60 started with ps2/gc/xbox/dc
I mean as of now no there's no reason to go back to the old Tetris games outside of nostalgia, but there are modern tetris games worth playing. Grand master, PPT, DS to name a few.
This may startle you, but some people enjoy competing against themselves and trying to break their own high scores.
>waifushit
>not a cashgrab
at least bomberman r was made with love by the original devs
yeah i used to do that in mario which is more fun than falling blocks
Do people really think Bomberman is only worth 5 dollarydoos?
id buy it if it was on Steam. no way im buying a 300$ console and paying online fees to play this crap
Do you like Bomberman and want it to keep getting games? Buy it then.
Would you rather have a Bomberman pachinko machine? Don't buy it.
i'd say a dollar.
people judge games on graphics nowadays
In what way do you compete with yourself in Mario? Nobody played any of them for the score counter. The only way I could accept this answer is if you speed run it. You are just going to extreme lengths to shit on tetris for no reason.
The thing about Lords of Shadow was that it wasn't a bad game. It was mediocre, but not bad. It was far from offensive and there are far worse spinoffs out there. It's just what happened with Konami afterward that make it a problem.
Castlevania is my favorite franchise. They did everything they could with the sidescrollers as well as the metroidvanias. The franchise could either just die peacefully or try to surface in new ones, kind of like how Megaman went on to be the Battle Network series for awhile.
Lord of Shadows could have been that next step for the franchise, but 2 messed everything up.
And it being a reboot wasn't a problem. The narrative never mattered in the games and was the worst thing about the Metroidvanias after SotN (the only one with a passable narrative) Plus it left little to no room to develop a narrative if you did want to do one. They wanted LoS to be story heavy so it basically had to be its own timeline.
You do realize how dedicated the Tetris scene is, right? The entire point of the Grand Master subseries is taking its difficulty as far as possible, and they're still getting plenty of mileage out of it.
Let's see, Bagura, Buglear, Bugglar, Bagulaa, Burglar, Bagular, and now Buggler. Seems like hudsonsoft didn't really have any consistent translation team huh?
What do you mean by used to? Its ALWAYS been this way.
>Nobody played any of them for the score counter
you're kidding right
and im not shitting on tetris i just don't understand why it's so well liked. it has completely passed me by.
Saturn Bomberman is the absolute best one. It is amazing and the multiplayer has tons of replay value.
Another one of my personal favorites is Land 2. It lacks the couch play of Saturn, but in return you can shareplay the game with up to seven other people. All they need is a DS and you can do it. It used both screens so stages were twice as large. The single player was just a minigame fest which is a fun time waster, but the multiplayer was top notch.
Hero is a fun single player game. Not sure if it aged well. Was probably my favorite N64 game as a kid
It was a game you played when you beat the other games/ you didn't have any other games. Kinda like snake on the phone.
Some people care more about playing against the game itself than a human opponent. Comp isn't the end-all-be-all of engagement.
It's always been the same just translations fucked it up.
Bomberman 64. It was the pinnacle of the series.
The GB games are fine if you can deal with playing Game Boy games these days.
im not saying it is
Bomberman is a relic of the past, but unlike other relics such as Mario, there's no way to really innovate its gameplay past the 64 era.
Its the kind of game that is better off as a f2p mobile title or a $10 digital release.
What did you expect from Konami?
People like to shit on it around here, but I LOVE Super Bomberman 2. Hugely underrated.
It's also the game that most heavily inspired Bomberman R. If you're curious about the background of R, then 2 is worth checking out.
You must be new to this franchise, most Bomberman games were price around $50-60. It was only in recent history that it's gone as cheap as Ultra, and that's basically because it lacked single player, decent customization, etc.
The clones were free to play or really cheap for that very reason. I suggest you play other games in the franchise to get a better perspective of it, because not all of them are literally the exact same thing.
Bomberman 2 DS is proof that it can be innovated beyond just 64. It really isn't better off as f2p mobile shit. That just squanders its potential.
Bomberman R is more inspired by 3 what with Bagular reviving the Dastardly Bombers in both games.
