worst battery ever?
Worst battery ever?
Sega Nomad has the worst battery ever.
Second place is the Wii U game pad.
I'm sure something else is third.
>worst controller ever
Fixed that for ya
It couldn't possibly be any worse than the Wii U tablet controller, i'm lucky if I can get 5 hours out of that thing.
I'm lucky if I can get 4 out of my Dualshock.
I use a gaming headset with my DS4 and it eats the fucking battery like crazy, it barely holds 1 hour, I was about to get a wired hori DS4 but it didnt had the 3mm connector
it also likes to die in the middle of a battle too, never in the menus
It's either defective or you've run it into the ground, then.
I can't believe the first reply to this thread wasn't the Switch
I get 6-7 hours out of all mine.
I wonder why
Mainly because it's not.
The later model with the touchpad light bar has a much better battery. Too bad you have to leave the PS4 in Rest Mode to charge when you're done.
It sure isn't great.
>N64 exists
Try again.
Am I the only one who's thumbs keep slipping off the analog sticks?
I usually get at least 8 hours, and average around 10
You can easily charge it on yout pc or USB wall socket, I even can connect it to my tv's USB ports to recharge it
Didn't have that problem until last night in that Nobunaga Hiro fight.
Since I have this thread here, is there any advantage to the DS4 over DS3? I was thinking on getting another DS3 since both of mine are long done, but DS4 is a thing that exists I guess. Is it more or less durable?
No drones/shills/neofags please, honest answers.
Shoulda mentioned I use these on my PC.
why is PS3 controller 10x better than ps4 controller?
Because it's not.
DS3 is superior
DS4 is chealpy made, annoying layout
PS3 controller is the best possible layout
switch is already worse then wiiu
Are you using it for the PC or PS3? If for the PS3 just buy a DS3. I find the DS4 more comfortable to hold, but with the PS3 the PS home button dosent work and neither does the rumble.
If for PC just get whatever is most comfortable although you can use the DS4 touchpad as a mouse which is pretty neat.
why not?
build quality is superior, battery life is superior, it is way more comfortable too
My cables keep breaking because the mini usb cable doesn't go all the way in, allowing it to wiggle and bend.
>Alienware
You know? I didn't notice any flaws with the controller until I tried to play the disco minigame in Yakuza 0.
Fuck, trying to use the L-Analog Stick and the buttons fucking sucks
>shitty "share" and "options" button placement
>d-pad has cluttered activation
>triggers too small
>can't use touchpad for web browsing
>battery lasts ~6 hours (aka, 2-6 play sessions, averaging about 3 myself before I have to let it charge)
I bought the chatboost accessory and nyko battery pak.
I now have maximum playtime, but my controller is twice as bulky and heavy.
I bought the fucking slim model, and instead of updating the battery they added a light-redirector to show the LED glow on the touchpad and made the thumbsticks look worse.
This controller sucks compared to the DS3
>is there any advantage to the DS4 over DS3?
There is one and only one improvement:
3.5mm headset jack
I'm tempted to say the touchpad, but it's horribly under-utilized. What a waste of a feature.
>build quality is superior
Not really about the same, actually. I had a Sixaxis and a DS3 fail on me. Third one still works but it only ever got light use. I've gone through one DS4 so far (1st gen ones were a really piece of shit). Sony build quality for controllers is just bad. They're both equally shitty.
>battery
True.
>comfort
Disagree. Sony had barely changed the design since the PS1 days. The ergonomics were never that great unless you have smaller hands or are used to holding it a certain way. DS4 is comfortably gripped. You don't have to hold it on your fingertips or anything like that.
Lasted long enough to beat RE7 twice and have a few short GR2 sessions before it needed a charge so I've probably seen worse batteries.
What? D-pad works just fine in that
lmao stop playing 8 hours straight every day and get a life, neckbeard
I would say the Gyro could have been great, but it is really shit and doesn't get used
We could have got Killzone Mercenaries controls in Killzone Shadowfall, but noooo
I havent noticed it being too bad.
I do usually remember to charge it when I put it in rest mode though.
The headphone jack alone makes it an improvement from the DS3 alone.
I get about 10 hours give or take a couple hours. It's never been a problem anyway, every time I stop playing I put the controller back in the dock.
not him, but see my post what I meant about the d-pad is that I try to press one direction and it activates the button next to it.
When I try to do the disco power up (press 4 directions in sequence), the controller constantly pressed other buttons while I was trying to press just one way.
I play disco with a squared-thumb hovering over each d-pad button because of how shit the DS4 handles.
I've always pressed the d-pad like that. Guess it is a problem if you don't.
Lower the brightness of the LEDs on it, the battery life increases by a lot.
I get a month out of my Wii U pro controller when I use it on PC.
worst triggers ever. goddamn those tiny little spring things. other than that its pretty great
I've tried one of the 2nd wave DS4's and it's great. Plus with Steam and/or DS4Windows, you can use the controller as a mouse substitute and fully customize the button layout
When Yakuza 0 came out I played that thing all day the first day. Played it a good 6 hours the next day. Didn't have to charge it til I was done with it the second day. Probably got about 15 hours out of it in total. Wii U gamepad is far worse. I feel like every time I charge it the life of that battery is getting shittier and shittier. Probably gets about 4 hours.
