Breath of the Wild confirmed unplayable even with the pro controller

Breath of the Wild confirmed unplayable even with the pro controller.

Souls game have already gotten me used to it, so it's whatever.

That's how you should hold your controller anyway, casual. How else can you control the camera and use the face buttons at the same time?

i don't have an issue pressing any configuration of two face buttons on any controller i own

sprinting and jumping were the same button in Dark Souls though

Limp wristed faggots can't claw lmao

...

While it won't be a problem once I get used to it, it's still a very strange layout.

>Sprint and interact aren't the same button
Yeah, but, why though?

Git gud

>claw is a problem now
Just fucking end me now

There's no way Nintendo designed the game so that you'll have to sprint and jump at the same time if this is the control scheme. And plenty of third person games have a face button to sprint and thumbstick camera control, it's not really a big deal.

Still gonna be too busy playing Nier to give a shit about BOTW though.

What a terrible layout. I mean your image, not the control scheme.
Everything is fucking backwards:
- The control scheme should be on the upper left side of the image and not the last thing you see
- You placed 'So that means you have to "claw"' as the first line with nothing leading into it and without any context. That should be the last thing on the image before your "Fun for 50+ hours right?" comment
- You explain that the control scheme can be changed before even showing the control scheme
0/10 Absolutely fucking terrible

>consoles

back in my day if you wanted to dash and shoot/charge at the same time, you'd claw...and we were grateful

why are all journos holding controllers tight in their palm, instead of letting them on the fingers, with the pinky slightly up to prevent it to slip?
also look at the space between y and a, it's meant to allo a thumb press for x+b.
thumblets shouldn't be allowed in the game industry.

>He doesn't double tap the D-pad to dash when he plays MMX

How does it feel to be a turbocasual?

Because nobody holds a controller like that you fucking ayylmao. Do you also hold the steering wheel of your car with your fucking fingertips?

Because they can't play games let alone know how to handle anything that isn't an xbox controller

why not just use the side of the thumb?

are you disabled? you aren't supposed to grip the controllers, or produce any efforts holding them.
What was your first system? The wii?
Fucking normie trash

>Double tap dash
>OFF A WALL YOU'RE SLIDING OFF OF
>Calls others casuals

Lol you must fucking suck to not even dash off a walljump

double-tapping requires needing to stop forward momentum, button-dash does not

i mean i guess you can play the game super slow for some reason if you want but whatever

Probably because they've never had to touch a controller in their life. Most controllers are durable plastic. There's literally no reason to deathgrip it.

You're a retard.

The playstation controller are meant to be held up by the fingers, not clasped in the palm.
The old school controllers are held up by the fingers aswell

Wonder how you're going to manage with the switch

Why the fuck are sprint and interact two different buttons? Sprint should activate when moving, otherwise it should be interact. Right?

It was always a problem, it's just no one fixed it yet.

I change my controls for X in the options after playing Megaman Zero everytime.
"L" as Dash feels so fucking right.
If I really want to feel dirty, I'll put "R" as shoot. I played X6 like this and it felt tight as shit.

>Play MMX after playing MMZ
>Go to dash
>Eat shit every time

Aren't the sticks clickable? Why couldn't they just map sprint to one of them to toggle it on or off?

user...gotta try this crazy shit next time, thanks

Fun fact, this was the grip style used by Polygon when playing Doom.

Because it's 3D movement, not just run forwards like cod and bf

Not a problem in CEMU

sounds like you're holding your controller like a faggot.

Because you have to manage your stamina, you can't just permasprint.

If the game has any platforming with large gaps then sprinting and jumping at the same time is kind of a necessity

I'm talking the X series in general, not just X1, dingus.

It made X6 feel just a little bit like Megaman Zero 2 with the X-Form active.

Are you retarded? It's not impossible to press them both at the same time, with the thumb.

>Has never played Souls games or Nioh

If you don't "claw" you're a fuckin noob anyways. I've been doing "Claw" method since Megaman X on SNES.

Git Gud, scrub.

>Console peasant problems

This game would be disgusting to play on kb/m. PC is my main platform.

>Muh Souls

I'm saying there won't be large gaps that require it. This is Nintendo we're talking about, they playtest everything to within an inch of its goddamn life, there's no way something like that would make it in.

Not him, but as an aside
This is also the same company that makes B execute "action" and A execute "jump" on a fucking 3DS.
It's an absolute shit decision and I have no idea why the fuck they keep doing it.

or

>sprint persists half/full second after releasing it

damn that was difficult
holy fuck

Can't you just press both the X and B button with your thumb?

Claw grip offers u to do more cinematic angles if u are real gamer. yes there are virgins who dont know how to use controller or how to have sex.

>if you know how to use something you are a faggot!
genZ snowflake syndrome strike again. How dare people know things.

I'm not saying Nintendo doesn't make bad decisions, I'm saying they don't make simple oversights, especially with regards to controls. There's no way they're putting in big gaps you have to press both of those buttons to cross and not realizing the controls make it awkward to do so.

gotta love stockholm syndrome and bad game designs raised as the solution for trivial things a toddler can solve by just holding the controller right

>holding the controller right
this is nintendo we're talking about, not from software
they don't want to force you to do something a specific way

>mighty nr9 consists solely of horizontal corridors
>everyone complains
>megaman consist solely of horizontal corridors
>UUGH MUH CHILKDHOOD BESTH GAME EVA 10/!0
Why is this allowed?

unless interact were to off set teh sprint action and animation EVEN IF THERE IS NOTHING TO INTERACT WITH, you can just use your thumb

Space = Jump
Shift = Sprint
LMB = Attack
E or F = Interact

can anyone confirm weather the sprint is on a toggle or not? that would render this argument moot if it is.

also claw grip=crampy as fuck hands

Because Megaman never made me slam my face into enemies and bosses to actually damage them.

I've never thought about this, has it been shown if the staple Zelda "autojump" is still here?

Obviously you can jump whenever you want now, which necessary for climbing, but what happens when you just run off an edge? Do you now fall down, or do you still jump off automatically?

>he can't press X and B with just his right thumb

get on my level

>Game with jumping and sprinting
>Can't do both at the same time
Thanks bethesda.

Well I've played games for more than five seconds, so I've been able to press all four buttons with my thumb. and I can hit any combo of buttons with the exception of YXA and YBA. but that's because it's never needed, so I've not mastered it.

>hold B with the middle of your thumb
>press X with the tip of your thumb

what's so hard about that

Because Mighty No. 9 is a piece of shit to look at.

STOP SHITTING ON THE GAME IT'S NOT OUT YET. I'M NOT EVEN OWNING A NINTENDO CONSOLE BUT THIS SHIT IS GETTING OUT OF HAND, REEEEEEE

As any proficient Monster Hunter veteran can easily apply the claw technique to any controller, I'm more than ready. Come the fuck at me, New Zelda, I'll give you the claw grip of a lifetime

Is M+Kb truly superior to controllers for all things gaming?

welcome to Sup Forums

yes anything but driving games. although recently i started playing hitman (tm) on steam with a controller. since i never shoot my gun in this game anyways, it's actually the best way to play it

controller is comfy for shit where you don't really need a lot of keys or accuracy, which is honestly a lot of genres

didn't you have to claw in super metroid also?

it wasn't that bad, but only if the game itself is good

which I highly doubt

>yes you can change the options

stopped reading there

Right that's the last straw then. Fuck.

I've held on for so god damn long, kept hovering my finger of the cancel pre-order but I just couldn't bring myself to click.

When the graphical downgrade was confirmed, I held on.

When the DLC was announced, I fucking held on.

But this? The fact that I won't even be able to enjoy the game comfortably?

Thats it for me. Into the fucken trash. Into the fucken garbage.

Good bye nintendo. Good fucking bye and good fucking riddance you scum.

How about you hold the controller like a fucking normal person would you absolute fucking neet

not for fighting games, or driving games, or most party games

I generally find third person action games to work better with a controller.

I don't believe this image.

you just don't use the mouse when playing those games retard

>all things gaming
>except those

>Is a tool used for typing superior to things specifically designed for controlling video games?

>using only keyboard isn't the same thing as kb+m so I need to buy a controller

keyboards are multipurpose, not just for typing.

Well you should've kept reading, it doesn't help at all.

X is at the top and is normally jump
B is at the bottom and is normally sprint

Switching the controls literally means swapping those two. Same problem.

Prove it, faggot.

>You can't attack when you're sprinting anyway
>Switch jump to B on the bottom so you can jump and attack easily

What exactly is the problem here?

Everybody with a brain has a controller already though

>Mouse allows you to easily turn while walking around
>Super easy to attack with keyboard having multiple mappable buttons
>Extremely easy access to jump and sprint buttons in all games

I've never had trouble playing 3rd person action games with KB+M. In fact I found DS3 easier on KB+M than with a Dualshock 4.

>tfw you're not a hyper autist and you can play games with layouts they give you
Unfortunately, this means I prefer DaS on keyboard now.

I don't understand this issue. You can hold right thumbstick and press X with the claw easily. There's no tension.
>those stumpy freak thumbs
Disgusting.

Same, but I have R/R1 set to dash in every emulator whenever I replay the X's, it's so goddamn convenient/comfy and makes some of the most notorious dash/jump areas (looking at you, capsules in Flame Mammoth and Wheel Gator) a lot less bullshit, same with mobility in boss fights, since an easier dash/jump is essentially a dodge

Huh, I remember seeing this exact same crap on neofag.... WHAT AN INCREDIBLE COINCIDENCE, YOU WOULDN'T HAPPEN TO BE THAT EXACT SAME FAGGOT, WOULD YOU?
Because if you are, well, I just want you to know that you're probably a really cool guy, and you should probably do more with your life. Go out, meet some girls, I'm sure you're a great person. Have sex, learn a new language. See the world, man. Live.
Or continue being the faggot of gargantuan proportions that you truly are, forever being a disgrace to even the basement you live in.

Alternatively, if you just so happen to NOT be that fuck from neofag, well, you'd still be a flaming homosexual, and you should continue playing mobile games.

>Using claw technique in first place

I don't get tryhards sometimes.

i remember having to do this on super meatboy
fucking game was unplayable without one finger in run button and one on jump

>people defending shit control

wake up, Sup Forums

But it works okay if you rest the controller on your lap?

You can't tap very well with your index clawing, so you just bind Sprint to X, so you only have hold it down. No tension whatsoever.

this is objectively the correct way to use a controller

not even joking

DEAD ON ARRIVAL
THE SWITCH IS LAME
BUY A PS4, IT ACTUALLY HAS REAL GAMES

>X is jump instead of interact

It's all in the implementation. The vast majority of console games ported to PC do terrible things to the raw input and it just sucks. When the input isn't fucked with, it's so clearly a better control scheme for anything not inherently reliant on analog input like racing games. Metal Gear Rising was much easier to play on KB+M than it is on controller, since you can maneuver the camera without having to claw grip or stop doing anything else.
