That's actually how you can get the Sun spells and any other Dawnguard exclusive items if you decided to join the vampires.

During the quest "Destroy the Dawnguard", just slap them with some high level calm spells and you'll have access to their stock.

problem is that im not sure if the interaction for being dawnguard and becoming a vampire can be circumvented with illusion. i want to have access to more trolls after they die, without leaving the quest line unfinished.
